Comments about Mens R-Gear High Five 5" Lined Shorts: I have two specific criteria in my running and workout shorts: they need to be light, and they must have at least one pocket that will hold an ID card. These shorts meet those criteria, and they go above and beyond. For example, there are actually 3 pockets, two on the sides and one in the middle back. All three have secure closures, which gives a sense of security. The pockets seem oddly-placed at first, until you actually put something in them; then you realize they are designed to keep stuff out of the way of your running stride!

Comments about Mens R-Gear High Five 5" Lined Shorts: The side pockets are ingenious -- they are perfectly placed so stuff doesn't bounce around when you run. HOWEVER, the hook/loop closure on the side pockets doesn't run the entire length of the pocket, so little things like car keys have a tendency to jump out of them! (Yes, this happened to me on trail run. I was totally lucky to have someone find my key!) I use little resealable plastic bags to hold my driver's license, one credit card, and a couple of bills, and it fits perfectly in the side pocket without sneaking out. The car key now goes in the backside zip pocket, and it stays where it should!

Comments about Mens R-Gear High Five 5" Lined Shorts: After 2 weekends of running in the rain in 9" shorts I needed a change. These shorts are short enough to allow full uncomprimised extenstion of the legs even in the rain without the extra water weight from rain or sweat! The two side pocks that are actually in the rear are great for carrying gels, gum, Ipod Shuffel or Nano. The rear waistline zip pocket is a great added touch for keys.

Comments about Mens R-Gear High Five 5" Lined Shorts: I keep looking at other brands but always come back to the RRS shorts. I love these as well as the Velocity shorts. They fit well, are comfortable, and have enough pockets for all my Gu Chomps on long runs/races. No other brand seems to have as much storage as RRS shorts. So I don't wear any other brand anymore (except a very comfortable pair of Adidas for short runs).

Comments about Mens R-Gear High Five 5" Lined Shorts: This pair of shorts is short enough without being too short. Dries quickly and feels comfortable, even on long runs. I love the three pockets, but the only drawback, and what keeps these shorts from being perfect, is that there isn't enough Velcro to completely close the pockets. I've had Gu fall out a couple of times. Highly recommend these, though.

Comments about Mens R-Gear High Five 5" Lined Shorts: Stellar shorts--bought to replace a pair of high-line shorts that cost double what the velocities cost, and found an even better short--light, soft, durable, with perfectly placed little pockets for keys and music. The length is perfect (just above mid thigh), they don't creep up, and they dry in a heartbeat. Tremendous value, buying more today. On top of that, a great company with great values,[...], and with shoes organized so I can find stuff for my jacked-up feet and knees (which continue to get faster and run longer). A very nice experience--thanks!

Comments about Mens R-Gear High Five 5" Lined Shorts: I really like the material and the pockets are a nice addition. They are light weight and wick well. The only flaw I noticed is that they started to ride up a bit on my tempo runs. Overall a very good short though.

Comments about Mens R-Gear High Five 5" Lined Shorts: I usually buy cheaper running shorts, but this time I thought I would spend a little more. Glad I did, these shorts are wonderful, especially design for runners. Love how the side pockets are designed and back middle pocket is perfect for my mp3 player. Seriously thinking about buying another pair.

Comments about Mens R-Gear High Five 5" Lined Shorts: These are excellent runner's shorts. They fit well, and have a supportive brief built-in (that prevents thigh chafing). They have thoughtful details such as a gel/mp3 player pocket, key pocket, and velcro-closing slash side pockets. I haven't had them long enough to judge their durability, but they seem well made with double stitching at stress points, flat seams. They look nice too.

Cons Best Uses
Comments about Mens R-Gear High Five 5" Lined Shorts: I have always had to wear compression shorts under my running shorts to avoid chafing. These shorts have eliminated that need! I am now running 20 plus mile long runs with no compression shorts and no chafing! The pockets are great also!

Comments about Mens R-Gear High Five 5" Lined Shorts: Great short for running. No rubbing issues and I love the zipper pocket in the back for holding my key fob. I will be getting a few more pairs.

Comments about Mens R-Gear High Five 5" Lined Shorts: I have been running in these shorts (well not these shorts, but this model) for over a year now. They are just the right weight, construction and coverage to fit just about every event. The pockets are well placed to hold a car key, gel pouch or iPod well without bouncing around. Can't beat them for the price.

Comments about Mens R-Gear High Five 5" Lined Shorts: Great running shorts. I just wish one of the several pockets was slightly larger to hold a cell phone/music player.

Comments about Mens R-Gear High Five 5" Lined Shorts: like the zipper pocket in the back. Don't know if my keys would fit. The side pockets were perfect for chap stick, little else. Overall I really like the fit.

Comments about Mens R-Gear High Five 5" Lined Shorts: These are great shorts. I've worn the Mizuno Mustang 5" shorts for years but the pocket placement on these shorts allows me to carry my iPhone 4s in one pocket and snacks for me or my dog in the other without banging around on my leg when I run. The lumbar pocket holds a key, license and cash for emergencies and zips securely.
