Before pulling them out of the package and trying them on check the drawstring is tied. If it's not tie it up or you'll spend half an hour swearing under your breath as you try and get it back out of the waistband!
Having recovered tha string and tried them on I was surprised at the weight of the outer fabric, I had planned on using them for running but they feel too heavy for that (I normally run in compression shorts and thin outer shorts for modesty). They are however very comfortable to wear and the inner short holds everything in place! They have turned out to be ideal for a mixed session in the gym, comfortable and non-chaffing for the cross trainer and supportive for the weights.
In summary; not what I was expecting but a quality piece of kit that is good for the gym. In hindsight I should probably have ordred the shorter length for running but was after some sun protection from the length.

The shorts are great if you need a longer length. I tried asics 2 in 1 shorts but the 6 in inseam caused the material to bunch up. The extra 2 in of this short makes a huge difference, no bunching. Very comfortable. Only con is the drawstring, it is too short, numerous times I've had to fish for the cord after it disappeared into the waistband. Otherwise this short would have 5 stars.

Follow wash /dry instructions! I accidentally ran them thru the drier on med low and the compression liners shrank.
Otherwise, they fit great and allow unlimited movement. Very comfortable, good support too.

just started running longer distances and was looking for some compression shorts. read a couple of the reviews thought they should work out for SOCAL winter wear. yes they are thick and heavy for shorts. personally only have 2 issues. 1- don't fit right, super tight in the thigh and loose every were else its an odd fit that doesn't work out well. that brings me to problem 2- because of the way the shorts ride and the rough stitching on all of the seams they eat away at your skin leaving you a not so happy camper on all lengths of activity. Would not recommend these to anyone looking for a compression short combo. worst part is I bought 4 pair. (waited 2 months before writing review wanted to give some breaking time to see if it made a difference, only got worse)

I like the compression inner linner. Loose but not baggy. They come in basic black.
The wide waist band is suitably cinchable and these shorts are very durable.

Long lasting and a very good fit. This is my second pair of these shorts with the first having lasted (and still going strong...) for over 10 years at two to three workouts a week.

As other customers described, the shorts are very heavy. I also had trouble with the compression short slipping down and actually causing chaffing instead of preventing. It could be a size issue but the fit seemed adequate. I will likely only use for gym workouts and not running.

Thought I would try running shorts with built in compression to avoid havnig to buy shorts and compression separately. They are quite comfortable but tend to creep down just a little in the back. Still need to make sure you use body glide liberally in your sensative areas.

Descent pair of running shorts. They are fairly heavy weight though. Have to see how they feel in colder weather. Way too heavy for hot days.

I love the 2 in 1 technology- I have other running shorts like this. As another review stated, the compression liner prevents leg rub. One major thing about these shorts is they are heavy, I will not wear these shorts for longer runs or races because of this. The shorts are comfortable; however, I probably would not have bought them if I knew this before hand. If you are looking for a comfortable pair of gym shorts they are fine.

I am very happy with these shorts. The compression is right on the money - I've had other shorts that were either too tight or not tight enough. I also like that they have side pockets, along with an interior pocket useful for bringing a few necessities when I hit the road. I highly recommend, as these have become my go to short when they're clean! Hope they can help you too get a few extra miles in!

Great material and weight on these shorts, and I love 2-in-1 technology, however; the leg opening is way too wide on these. The fit is like wearing bell-bottom shorts. I can't run and ring at the same time. Unfortunately, must return.

I'm both a "the fewer pieces of clothing, the better" and a "my enormous thighs generate friction that could be used to heat entire cities" sort of guy. So I had to have the all-in-one compression short/running short the minute I saw it. All-in-all, I've been thrilled with the purchase (did I mention I'm also a "my hamstrings cramp if I even look at them funny" kind of guy?). The compression is great, the friction reduction is fantastic--I've survived an eight mile tempo run without chafing, sans BodyGlide-- and the moisture management is good.

My only real concern: these shorts feel heavy. I guess that's the whole "all-sports" thing, but I do wear separate running shorts and compression shorts that collectively feel a good bit lighter.

Still, all in all, a great short so far.

The inner compression short is really comfortable. The shorts are good for those in-between weather days for running since they are a little warmer than regular shorts but cooler than pants.
