Gore-Tex may ge the bee's knees, but for the price of one Gore-tex running rain jacket i can buy almost three of these running rain jackets, and when you run every day, having multiple jackets is mo important than having one great one fo me. I bought three of these, and while they dry fairly fast in warmer weather, the cold and humidity during the winter make these dry more slowly, so having one soaked, one nearly dry, and one dry means i always hae a dry jacket ready for a run. Combined with three pairs of running gloves and three running caps I've always got a set ready to go.
If you sweat a lot, then these will not vent fast enough, but nothing vents fast enough for me, not even the fancy Gore-tex running jackt i bought a couple of ears ago. Because these are waterproof, the bottom of the forearm sleeves will pool sweat too. But the is a simple work around, if the weather is warm enough that you feel yourself sweating, i just roll up the sleeves just above the elbow and velcro things down. This keeps my forearms a little cooler, prevents pooling of sweat, and who cares if the forearms get a wet in the rain....
I do wish the vest pocket was fully enclosed waterproof, so it's not only protected from the rain, but also protected from the sweat vapors inside the jacket. I nearly ruined one ipod that was kept there. Also, the zipper coukd use a cord or something because that vest zipper is just too small.
Also, these run a little big. I'm 5'8" and 135 lbs, so i often fit in a medium jacket just fine with a layer or two underneath, but the medium jacket runs pretty big on me. Still fine for running, and I'd rather have a little big than a little small, so I'll stick with these, but it's worth noting.
The hood is probably my big complaint on this. I wish it had a shock cord at the top-back of the hood to pull everything back a bit. Maybe my head is just too small, but the top and side edges fall way too forward making it hard to see when the hood is up.
As a waterproof and windproof jacket, this thing works exactly as advertised and i highly recommend this jacket to any runner active in cold, wet, or windy weather.
Keeps me Dry
Many jackets boast about how waterproof they are and sometime fail to meet that expectation. This jacket was everything it said it would be. Wore it out for my first run in the rain and with the cinch of a hood I was running dry without worrying.

Finally got a chance to use this today as the weather this Fall has been dry. Wore it for an hour run in a steady rain and 40 degree temperature today and I'm satisfied with the performance. My torso and arms were a little damp but that's more from moisture coming from the inside rather than the outside. :) I didn't wear the hood as I prefer a visor in the rain so I can't comment on it.
Great rain gear jacket
I am thrilled with this jacket and can't really say enough positives about it. Bottom line, it will keep you dry. Just ran a half marathon in driving wind and downpour rain and I stayed dry outside in. It was a life saver in this weather.
The only downside is that because the jacket is so waterproof, you will get wet inside out, but will at least be warm.
Does the Job
I bought this jacket alittle doubtfull, but it lived up to what it's advertised as. Walked in hard rain and bicycled in hard rain in Belguim for one week and it worked fine. Sleeves were long enough to seal at wrists which is usually an issue with me, I wear a 36" sleeve shirt. Hood covered my bicycle helmet well. Zippers could be more beefy.

versatile outer wear
completely love this jacket. Great fit. The neck/hood design is great for the windy nature of fall-winter in Ohio. The only concern I have is whether or not the zippers will hold-up over time.
all- weather runner
Great for running in wet weather.
