By Heather

Comments about RRS Speed 2 Energy Belt Hydration:

I received my running belt yesterday and went for a 14 mile run this morning. I was really hesitant to buy a belt because I hate to carry anything with me, and I was afraid the liquid would slosh around. I LOVE this belt. I wore mine around the waist, not low on my hips, and it was very comfortable! My husband is now thinking about buying one... One comment about the size -- I ordered a small, and it is small! I have a 26 inch waist, and it is snug. I don't mind, but the small is advertised as a 26-32.

Comments about RRS Speed 2 Energy Belt Hydration:

Despite what other reviews said, I found this to be try to size. I listened to what others said an ordered a medium (5'0", 120 lbs., 28 in. waist) and it is WAY too big. There wasn't enough velcro to even fastener it around my waist. Now I have to pay to send it back for the small!

I like the belt, its comfortable and doesn't bounce. Do not put the bottles in the dishwasher though. I did, and one of the nozzles melted when it fell next to the heating element. Hopefully I'll be able to find a replacement...

Comments about RRS Speed 2 Energy Belt Hydration:

This is my first experience using a belt while running. I'm training for a half marathon and find the pack to be comfortable to wear on my long runs. I had read that the sizing ran small. I think this is true depending on where you wear the belt. If you wear around your natural waist, I'd say it's true to size. If you want to wear around your hips, you may want to size up.

Comments about RRS Speed 2 Energy Belt Hydration:

Belt works great, I use it every day for my walks. It is hardly noticeable. It's great for carrying all the little extras too, like keys, cell phone, power bar, chapstick. I sometimes only use one bottle and holder and stuff my gloves (when I get hot) into the other holder. Great for clipping on extras (camera, binoculars, sunglasses)also, for longer hikes.

Comments about RRS Speed 2 Energy Belt Hydration:

Love the pack but since the reviews said was small on size I went with a large. Still too small! I like my belts at the hips and I am not a large person - size 8 pants and med in running shorts. I wear it around my waist which is fine, but I prefer it lower. Everything else great, snug, easy to access, the right size pocket for my phone, a snack, Ipod and chapstick.

I bought this last week and wish I had purchased it when I started running in January. I've used it on several longer runs, including a 10 mile run today. Not a single problem. The bottles are small and don't weight much (I did need to refill one bottle today), there is no bounce, it stays in place. The sizes do run small. I highly recommend it.

Medium was too small for me and I am exchanging for a large. FYI, I wear pants with a 32" waist and usually purchase medium shorts or whatever. I didn't see sizing information in the description, so I'm adding this to help others. It seemed like a nice product and I'm looking forward to receiving my larger model.

I agree with k-bomb, that it definitely ran on the small size. i ordered a medium which fits but not with very much leeway, so I will probably be exchanging for a large, it was really cute though and felt comfortable (I would just perfer to wear it at the top of my hips rather than around the smallest part of my waist). It's a nice set up and color though!

Comments about RRS Speed 2 Energy Belt Hydration:

Works great! I bought this instead of the Speed 4 Energy Belt for I found that the front two bottles got in the way of my arm swing. Two bottles work great for shorter distances (13 miles or less) but for longer distances (marathons) I have my husband meet me at the halfway point with two fresh bottles (I bought the extra bottles from Nathan). I would have given this product 5 stars, but the holsters are tight, requiring that I tug and pull to get bottles out. But I'm sure if they weren't sung, then they'd fall out which would be far worse. I would like to have a "quick release" system on my next one. But I am quite pleased with this belt for the cost.

I don't know what that last review was about...but this is the best 2 bottle carrier I've ever used. 10 oz each, so more fluids per bottle, one with water and one with replenishment drink. With this design the bottles side in and out really easy, with ONE HAND! You don't have to hold open the elastic strap with one hand and try to slide the bottle in with the other hand while still trying to maintain your pace. Plus they stay in the carrier without having to put a strap over the top of the bottle. As far as not staying in the carrier on your coat rack???? Who cares? This carrier gets my vote!

Comments about RRS Speed 2 Energy Belt Hydration:

I read the reviews of various hydration holders on this site and decided this one had the fewest negative reviews.
I've now used this belt on a few of my long runs and here's what I found out: The water bottles stay in place wonderfully. I keep my power gels in the back pouch. I like the fact that they have different sizes of belts (I got the small). It fits around my waist just fine, but if I had winter clothes on, that wouln't be the case. The only negative aspect is that the liquids get warm pretty quickly. The first time I tried it (one bottle had cold water and the other had cold gatorade), the liquid got super warm after 20 minutes (but keep in mind I'm running in the summer heat). The next time, I froze the liquid in the bottles overnight, and that seemed to work out better. The only problem with freezing the liquid is that after some of it melts, the ice chunks start rattling around, creating annoying noise.

This water belt has worked great. I wasn't sure about the velcro at first, but I have never had the belt fall off or a bottle fall out. The pocket is useful. It has a main compartment and a small divider. The divider makes it great to have a tiny space to keep an ID or cash dry, and I use the main space to fit my cell phone, power-gel and mp3 player. The belt does bounce around a decent amount, but after a while it settles in and stops bouncing as much. It also bounces more at higher speeds, but since I use it on my 10-12 mile long runs I don't go fast enough for it to bother me.

i like the pouch size and overall stability of the belt. the velcro fits snuggly without being too constricting. the bottle did not leak while running either.
