Good product, but take ...

By Dan

Comments about RRS Speed 4 Energy Belt:

Good product, but take note that the sizes run big. No sizing info is given about the belt on the RR site but after receiving the product, I see the sizes on the label are several inches larger than the generic RR sizing chart. If you can't strap the belt on tightly, the bottles bounce and may lead to some of the complaints listed in these comments. So order the product a size smaller if you are on the cusp and it should be fine. Actual label size: S 26-32, M 32-36, L 36-42

Comments about RRS Speed 4 Energy Belt:

Being a woman and carrying a purse normally that has EVERYTHING in it, I LOVE this belt. I like to carry a gel pack for those days when my energy is just low. I also like to carry my blackberry so I can listen to my tunes while being available in case I get a phone call from the school if my kids are sick. SO, This belt is very convenient for me. WHO REALLY CARES WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK. When I see someone with a water belt on, I think that they look pretty darned smart and prepared for the unknowns. This belt is FAR better than the Helium 4 fuel belt because of the softer elastic band that gives a much more comfortable wear. The Helium 4 was not stretchy enough.

By Kristen

Comments about RRS Speed 4 Energy Belt:

I now take my own water at races, after a half-marathon disaster this fall. I got this to replace my Fuel Belt, which was a bit too large and bounced all over the place. This one holds enough fluid to get me through a full marathon in mild weather. And it doesn't bounce at all--I do wear it very snug, though. The pockets are not afterthoughts like on some brands--they are big enough to hold gels or snacks and ID/keys. A comfortable fit, and so much better than not having water when you want it.

Comments about RRS Speed 4 Energy Belt:

After my 14 mile and 13 mile runs at about a 10 minute mile pace, I found that I almost forgot the belt was even on. Extremely comfortable and easy to get the water bottles. NO BOUNCING! and not even that heavy considering you're taking 40 oz. of water with you. The little pockets work great, too! Excellent product!

This is the first hydration belt I have ever used. I love it. The fit is perfect without any bounce regardless of how full the bottles are. I use it for my longer training runs and in half-marathons.

Comments about RRS Speed 4 Energy Belt:

An excellent fuel belt! I ordered this while it was on sale and couldn't have been happier! I received a product that was well worth double the amount I paid for it. The bottles are easy to remove, hold 10 ounces of water each and overall the construction feels very solid, unlike some other brands I have tried before.

Comments about RRS Speed 4 Energy Belt:

I purchased this waist belt because I was starting training for a full marathon and the summer months are quickly approaching. I have used it a few times already and I love it! The quality if GREAT. The velcro keeps it from moving all around. The water bottles are easy to get in and out and there is no bouncing around of the bottles. There is a nice pouch in the back of the belt for your iphone, keys, credit cards or money. VERY convenient! Would highly recommend!

Comments about RRS Speed 4 Energy Belt:

I loved the belt. It was very comfortable and easy to use! The bottles did not bounce at all. I had an easy time taking them out of the holster while running and it was equally as easy to put back in. The 4 10oz bottles were great for my long run. I could carry multiple liquids and stored my energy gel in the compartment. I would definitely recommend this belt, just make sure you get the proper size.

Comments about RRS Speed 4 Energy Belt:

No bouncing. With gloves on (it was 35 degrees in upstate NY this past week)it was easy to pull bottles and return to holders. I can place my ID in the front pocket and gels in the back with cell phone. For years I placed bottled water on my training courses - this fuel belt has changed my attitude about getting ready for the long runs. I'm encouraging my running buddies to get this product.

I will help settle the ...

      By David

      from Undisclosed

Comments about RRS Speed 4 Energy Belt:

I will help settle the controversy.
Hydration belts have a flop factor. However, flop can be mitigated by:
      (1) wearing the belt low and tight. It's elastic and you will not suffocate.
      (2) positioning the bottles for minimum flop. Try various positions to see what works best
      (3) running faster. Yes, the more greater the ratio of horizontal to vertical motion, the less the flop. Try running in place with your belt: much flop. Now run faster: less flop
      (4) drinking the water. Less weight, less flop. So drink up, that's what it's there for.
      (5) getting used to it. Despite all of the above, there's gonna be some flop. No free lunch. Accept the minor nuisance and be happy.
PS Disclosure: I don't own *this* very belt but I do have a similar one. Maybe this one is especially suckish but I doubt it.

Comments about RRS Speed 4 Energy Belt:

I just started running and have been training for a marathon and used this for my long runs. I've had occasional problems with bouncing bottles, but it was due to how I've worn the belt lower around my hip. I wear it tight around my waist and have had no problems with bouncing or losing bottles. My only complaint is the bottles occasionally leak around the screw top when I am drinking from the bottle and squeezing it.I've used this for up to 3.5 hr runs and had to refill a couple bottles, but it's enough for me for my 2-3 hr runs. I like that it has pockets in front and back- enough room for my gels and key.

Maybe it depends on how you wear your belt but I had no problems with the bottles bouncing around at all. Did a 14-mile TRAIL run without it bouncing or having the bottles fall out. Very comfortable and supplied enough water for a 2 hour run with the bigger bottles and held my gel packs and keys. I LOVE IT!!!

Comments about RRS Speed 4 Energy Belt:

This belt is superior to the Fuel belt. The bottle holsters on the fuel belt are smaller than the bottles and are made of elastic to hold them in place which means you have to use two hands to get the bottle back in its place. This belt's holsters are made of hard rubber that enables you to slip the bottle in like a gun into a holster with one hand. Only downside is that 10 ounce bottle filled to the max is a little heavy, for smaller people.

what kind of pussy needs water during a run, with adequate hydrating before my run i have ran 20miles nonstop in the heat of the summer in florida. you dont need a belt like this people will just look at you and say "is that guy retarded or something?" even if you plan on running a marathon there are water stations everywhere, so save you money, and the little respect that people have for you and dont buy this dumbass invention.
