I've owned this type of heel pads for 9 years or so, just updated to a new pair. They are a necessity for me since I've developed a heel spur. They keep me pain free and are very comfortable running long distances. I've never used them for anything else but suppose they would be great in any shoe. They are durable and last a long time.

I am nearly 50, female, and have been running my entire life. I gave myself Plantar Fasciitis a few years ago walking barefoot on concrete and tile for several months. I am a heel striker, heavy walker and should have known better but until the age of 44 did not have to worry about these (minor) aggravations.

Anyway, I ordered these Gel Heel Inserts to assist the healing process so I could resume my running and they really helped. I wear them in street shoes as well as my running shoes. I simply place them on top of the insole directly under my heel. I do take some care when putting my shoe on to make sure they are in the correct position, but once my foot is 'seated' I do not know they are there doing their job.

In anticipation of running my first 10k I ordered a second pair, but am still using my original pair from several years ago.

By the way, you can wash them with hand soap and water to renew the stickiness and remove the sock fuzz.

I have heel spurs and this alleviated 99% of the pain. I was able to run long distances again and perform at my usual level when playing rec sprots.

I use it all the time with no problems except in one pair of shoes it has my heel not sitting well in the shoe. But that was very minor. In all other shoes and hiking boots it fit great and works great.
