I have run in all editions of the Kinvaras. I have also ran in Nike Frees and New Balance 1400 in the search for the perfect shoe. The Nike Free was not enough cushioning for longer runs while the New Balance had too high a heel drop (11mm). The Kinvaras are the perfect balance for someone looking to go faster, run closer to the ground, but not give up all of the cushioning. The toebox on the 3rd edition is a bit larger. Which for me, was a blessing considering the pinch I would feel with the 2nd edition.
Great shoe. Highly recommended.

This is an awesome shoe! I'm not a small guy, so I was hesitant to get a light weight, "minimalist" shoe. But this shoe has exceeded all my expectations. My knees actually hurt much less than in my previous shoe which had a much thicker sole. And I actually feel faster with these shoes!

I have run a full marathon, a half marathon and a few 5Ks with this shoe. I use it for everyday training, long runs, speed work and hills. I find this shoe to be the perfect balance of cushioning and low drop (4mm) to help with toe/mid-foot striking.

I have purchased my 3rd pair and have switched to this running shoe after using Asics 20xx series for over 15 years.

I was looking for a lighter shoe with a 4mm drop that still had ample cushioning to use on a daily basis. The Kinvara fits the bill. The toe box feels great and has helped reduce blistering and toe nail issues. I will be continuning to use the Kinvara for the foreseeable future.

Kinvara purchase is my second pair of 4mm offset shoes (Brooks PureFlow 2 was my first). I really like the flatter 4mm shoes and am looking to find my 'long term' solution. Both shoes are very good and offer a similar mid-foot strike for my running style. Both are very light (Kinvaras weigh slightly less) and comfortable. The primary advantage of the Kinvara is wet surface traction - particularly wet hard surfaces. The Brooks provide more cushioning and I have grown to like the feel of the offset lacing with the semi integrated upper.
Bottom line, the Brooks will remain my everyday and longer distance shoes. Kinvaras for wet days, speed work, and racing.
One caution...if you are new to 4mm offset shoes, I would recommend a gradual transition.

Two years ago I made the decision to start transitioning to lighter shoes from my Asics Gel 2170's. I'm a older runner (60) and a mild pronator who typically runs over 50 miles/week. After trying Nike Free's I put on a pair of Kinvara's and was hooked from the minute I put them on. Initially I only used them for intervals/tempo runs but last fall I ran a half marathon in them and this spring ran a 30k race. They're a great lightweight trainer offering some conditioning and support.

I Run 40-50 miles a week on pavement in this shoe. I was pleasantly surprised that there was no transitional period to switch to a minimal running shoe.

since the first kinvara it has been my main shoe. the 3 did give problems on my ankle but a change in socks fix this. I am 5'6" 142".

Have been running in the Nike Free model. With the sole on these (Frees) unable to run on crushed gravel trail. Decided to give the Saucony's a go. Good shoe with added cushioning. Will use for trails and longer runs.

To be honest I bought this shoe because it was on sale. I have always wore Saucony and thought what the hey. I was, as always with Saucony, blown away. Love this shoe.

They don't provide enough support for everyday training runs, but I love wearing them.

I've gone through at least 10 pairs of Kinvaras since their initial release several years ago. I've always loved them. I was drawn to them after a botched attempt with vibram five fingers. They seemed like a good middle ground between extreme minimalist and clod hopper. I've run as long as 50 miles in them with no issues. Between the version 1 and 2 nothing really changed. This version is more of an overhaul. The uppers seem a little more durable and the midsole keeps the same characteristics as the original. Still love this shoe.

I wore this shoe in a half marathon yesterday and it was so light if barely felt like it was there. My feet and legs felt great after the run. I would recommend this shoe, but might suggest going for a wider size.

I got this shoe about a month ago and not regretting it. They are very light and durable with out cutting down on cushioning. I love the Progrid and it gives me a lot of traction even in wet conditions. If u r looking for a minimalist shoe but like a lot of cushioning then this is the shoe for u.
