With about 30 miles a week and 8 weeks into the season on a mix of roads, sidewalk, gravel trails, and single-tracks I am overall quite happy with this product. It is very light, cool, fast, and comfortable. I used this for practices and 5k races and I could say that the quality is sub-par. The out sole, or lack of, for there is pretty much just a foam mid sole that is making contact with the ground wears out very quickly and has little traction, this could be due to the transition period between my previous shoe and some of the dynamic stretching that can be hard on the shoe. This can be a problem on wet, muddy, and/or steep dirt surfaces. Another point of wear is where the the pinkie toe meets the toe box, after a race (it was dry and rocky) I noticed 2 adjacent, 2mm tears in between 2 strips of the flexfilm between the strip forward of the bottom of the laces and the forward-most strip on the right side of the right shoe. Other than those 2 problems this is a awesome shoe and if only Saucony made a shoe in between the Kinvara and the Kinvara TR I would be in heaven. Bottom line, this is a great shoe, but it could be better.

Comparison to Brooks PureFlow2
Kinvara purchase is my second pair of 4mm offset shoes (Brooks PureFlow 2 was my first). I really like the flatter 4mm shoes and am looking to find my 'long term' solution. Both shoes are very good and offer a similar mid-foot strike for my running style. Both are very light (Kinvaras weigh slightly less) and comfortable. The primary advantage of the Kinvara is wet surface traction - particularly wet hard surfaces. The Brooks provide more cushioning and I have grown to like the feel of the offset lacing with the semi integrated upper.
Bottom line, the Brooks will remain my everyday and longer distance shoes. Kinvaras for wet days, speed work, and racing.
One caution...if you are new to 4mm offset shoes, I would recommend a gradual transition.
Much more cushioning than the Kinvara 2
If you are used to the minimalist cushioning in the Kinvara 2, these will seem much more heavily cushioned. I haven't actually run in them yet; but I suppose they will work OK. I was hoping that they'd just make the Kinvara 3 a little longer in the forefoot, and they did that; but they added more cushioning, so it feels less like a minimalist shoe. If they were going to continue the Kinvara 2 line, I'd order a half size bigger, but I'll just get used to these. I liked the lacing better on the 2 as well. These are harder to lace (conventional and tiny holes along a placket rather than fabric loops).
Revised review after some good runs
Earlier, I wrote a review about my initial impressions of the Kinvara 3, without having run in them, mainly because the cushioning seemed so much more enhanced. Turns out that these do feel different than the Kinvara 2, but the ride is substantially the same and not as taxing. You still get the mid foot strike, and somehow they are just as light. The other big improvement is that the toe box is now true to size, instead of 1/2 size too small. So they are a little different, but generally better, and in the long run more comfortable.
Still my go to shoe
I've gone through at least 10 pairs of Kinvaras since their initial release several years ago. I've always loved them. I was drawn to them after a botched attempt with vibram five fingers. They seemed like a good middle ground between extreme minimalist and clod hopper. I've run as long as 50 miles in them with no issues. Between the version 1 and 2 nothing really changed. This version is more of an overhaul. The uppers seem a little more durable and the midsole keeps the same characteristics as the original. Still love this shoe.
I have run in all editions of the Kinvaras. I have also ran in Nike Frees and New Balance 1400 in the search for the perfect shoe. The Nike Free was not enough cushioning for longer runs while the New Balance had too high a heel drop (11mm). The Kinvaras are the perfect balance for someone looking to go faster, run closer to the ground, but not give up all of the cushioning. The toebox on the 3rd edition is a bit larger. Which for me, was a blessing considering the pinch I would feel with the 2nd edition.
Great shoe. Highly recommended.
Great Lightweight Trainer
Two years ago I made the decision to start transitioning to lighter shoes from my Asics Gel 2170's. I'm a older runner (60) and a mild pronator who typically runs over 50 miles/week. After trying Nike Free's I put on a pair of Kinvara's and was hooked from the minute I put them on. Initially I only used them for intervals/tempo runs but last fall I ran a half marathon in them and this spring ran a 30k race. They're a great lightweight trainer offering some conditioning and support.
They keep getting better
I've had all three versions of the Kinvaras and they keep getting better. The K-3 has a slightly tougher sole with some more hard rubber in high-wear places. The uppers on my K-1 and K-2s both developed small holes near the end of the shoe's useful life. The new upper material and "flexfilm" looks like it will resolve that issue while maintaining great breathability. I'm a light runner with a mid- to forefoot strike and have found that they provide plenty of cushioning on pavement even on runs of 10+ miles.

Great Shoe but not for me
Great shoe! Light weight, true to size and roomy in the box. Downside the shoe just wasnt the right one for me. Loved them right out of the box and no need to break in just start running!!! After several weeks I had to send back, impact was felt a bit in my knees and lower back. To little shoe for me I guess. Went from a stability PLUS to this as I wanted to try a minimal shoe... BAD IDEA
Excellent and Light Weight
I run approximately 20 to 25 miles per week. The toe box seems a little narrow and leaves blisters on my small toes if I run over 4 miles. Shoes softens impact and really has foot support. I use these shoes with a custom fit insole but even with factory insoles they are comfortable. I would change the color because I think they are a little bit loud for my taste.
All-time favorite running shoe
Lightweight shoes that I can run forever wearing. I bought three pairs when I learned that the Kinvara 3 wasn't being manufactured anymore and there aren't yet plans for a Kinvara 4. I've been wearing Kinvaras since the first generation. Not only would I recommend them for a friend, I just bought a pair for one. He loves them too.

This shoe is awesome
This shoe is so sweet. I was a little concerend with the little wieght at bottom but once i got on trail with them...it was amazing i have never had such a better shoe. they even fit my "top five" requirements durability, flexability, lightwieght, comfortable and super ill. bottom line is dont pass these up.
I got this shoe about a month ago and not regretting it. They are very light and durable with out cutting down on cushioning. I love the Progrid and it gives me a lot of traction even in wet conditions. If u r looking for a minimalist shoe but like a lot of cushioning then this is the shoe for u.
I am training for a marathon and wanted a durable, light and easy on impact shoe, I think i founded such with the kinvaras, however I feel they give up some of the speed of other lighter shoes. I am not sold on the high heel cushioning support structure,I feel to much pressure on the back of my heel.
I recommend them for recovery and slower runs.

Best shoe I've ever had!
This is an awesome shoe! I'm not a small guy, so I was hesitant to get a light weight, "minimalist" shoe. But this shoe has exceeded all my expectations. My knees actually hurt much less than in my previous shoe which had a much thicker sole. And I actually feel faster with these shoes!
Great light weight shoe
I wore this shoe in a half marathon yesterday and it was so light if barely felt like it was there. My feet and legs felt great after the run. I would recommend this shoe, but might suggest going for a wider size.
First impression after getting mine today, wider toe box then the previous two, alittle more forefoot cushion, the new flexfilm is awesome!! Really lets the foot transition like its suppose to.Only complaint is the $10 price increase.
The shoes fit well, ordered half size larger based on sizing information from road runner. Like the soft spongy heel when going down hill. The shoes are very light and provide solid comfort and stability.

Have been running in the Nike Free model. With the sole on these (Frees) unable to run on crushed gravel trail. Decided to give the Saucony's a go. Good shoe with added cushioning. Will use for trails and longer runs.
Make sure you size up! RR Sports recommends sizing up 1/2 size. Not enough! Need to go at least full sixe up! Also shoe is very narrow. If you have an average width foot, you might opt for wide shoe. Was unable to actually try them out due to sizing problems.

Good shoes for the gym and moderate running (up to 12 miles per week), but do wear out a little quicker than I'd like. This is my second pair though. The fit and lightness doesn't get any better.

Really comfortable out of the box.
I run 2 miles every other day and I rotate between three pairs of shoes (Nike, New Balance and these). I like the look of these and they're very light. Have used for 5 or 6 runs so far and like them.

I'm very happy with my new Saucony Progrid Kinvara 3's. They look great and feel great, exactly what I've come to expect from Saucony. Thanks Road Runner Sports for making them so affordable through my VIP membership!
Great Shoe for mid mileage
To be honest I bought this shoe because it was on sale. I have always wore Saucony and thought what the hey. I was, as always with Saucony, blown away. Love this shoe.

Kinvara - Finally Found my Shoe!
I use my Kinvaras for my long runs.
Feet feel fine after the run (that's a first).
No knee (or any) injuries since converting to Kinvaras.
Des Moines, IA
I Run 40-50 miles a week on pavement in this shoe. I was pleasantly surprised that there was no transitional period to switch to a minimal running shoe.
so far each update has not ruined the sh
since the first kinvara it has been my main shoe. the 3 did give problems on my ankle but a change in socks fix this. I am 5'6" 142".
