So far this has been a great shoe. I do alot of street running in the Saucony Kinvaras and love them, so the Peregrine is the natural choice for trail running.

I am addicted to running/trail shoes. I have more than a dozen different ones. Some are "heavy duty" GTX, insulated, etc. for wet and winter. Some are lighter GTX (Merrill, Salamon, Northface, etc.)for just wet. I have three that are just light weight, dry weather trail. Brooks Cascadia 8, Asics GT2200 and now these Saucony.

I love these shoes! I love the bright colors but these shoes make me want to run. I chose them over the current Asics GT (2000?) with some trepidation, since the Asics GT is very close to the one I have (On my third pair).

Trail running to me is motocross without the motorcycle, slower, less exciting, but easily accessable, and economical. I often relate things to my world of two wheeled exhileration. In this case, good shoes are like good tires, and your bike is only as good as its tires.
These shoes are all-around great, but not the best in the area of traction. The Brooks Trailblade is much better. As far as reliability, it's too early to tell, but I am skeptical. My last Sauconys were weak in the areas of material and construction.
Here's one shot I'll throw at all trail shoe manufacturers. The best color for trail shoes is DIRT COLORED! That's the color they end up in one week. Loose the flashy graphics already! I would give these new tires, er shoes 4 stars out of five for performance. For durability, it's too early to tell.

Not great support for rough trails. Upper feels like it moves over lower section when jumping rocks and trees

Great overall trail shoe . The steeper and rockier the better for these shoes. The ride is firm but helps stability underfoot. The peregrine is light and comfortable.

It is what it is, only better. That is, a heavier, sturdier Kirvana like trail running shoe for all training purposes, especially over long distances.

My new Saucony Peregrine shoes are my top pick for trail shoes. They are lightweight and low to the ground allowing me to gain miles on most any terrain. They also have excellent traction throughout the outsole which is very important when it comes to trail shoes.
