I've been running in Saucony shoes since the early 80's, starting with the Hornet and the Sting. Got my first pair of Shadow 6000's in 1992. Have tried other models since, including several Progrids, but keep coming back to the 6000. It's a classic training/marathon shoe that hasn't been "improved" out of existence. No bells or whistles, just solid performance. Out of my 53 marathons, over 40 were run in Sauconys, the last 20 in the Shadow 6000.

I ran the 1982 NY marathon in the the Shadow and have been running in them ever since. I have tried other types of running shoes (including more expensive Saucony shoes) but always return to these. I have never found anything better!

I have been running in these shoes since the early 90's. I've tried the most expensive and the most "technically advanced" models the other major brands have offered. After each one, I always returned to the Shadow 6000. It's my "old dependable" and my "old faithful". It keeps on running and keeps on giving. I have complete faith in these shoes

used on daily training runs. have used for many, many years. very comfortable and cushioned. not stylish. no bells and whistles - just a good solid shoe for serious running.

The Shadow 6000 has been my only running shoe since it came out. I am an ultrarunner and have not had any injuries, there is no break in time (I took them out of the box and ran a 100 miler, no problem). These shoes are shoe perfection.

My first Sauconys. Great shoe. This was actually my second choice since RRS didn't have the NBs I wanted in my size. The heal and toe cushioning are perfect. The wide toe box keeps my little toe from getting sore and the stability helps counter my pronation. These shoes have a very natural feel, I have to concentrate on my feet to even feel them.

I have been wearing this running shoe for over 13 years and can't imagine using any other brand or style. It will be a sad running day when they are gone. Stock up now!

I think I've found the perfect shoe! Good cushoning in the front and very flexible. Road Runner, please continue to carry this model as long as Saucony will make it.

I pronate and wear custom orthotics with 1/4" lift in one heel (A therapist told me, due to scoliosis, etc., to NEVER attempt a marathon. I told him I'd done 28). : ) Jeff Galloway told me he liked it on me. The 6000 heel gives me helpful stability when rolling heel to toe. I greatly appreciate the wide toe box. For me, the perfect shoe. Price is nice too. After 300 miles, it becomes my in-the-house shoe. When displaced from that, it becomes my outdoor walking shoe. Only after that do I give them away.

This is a great shoe for warm climate running or walking. However, due to is breathable top, your feet get wet easily if it rains or you walk through damp grass. It is inner cushion wears out long before the sole - so replace at least every 3 months.

I have worn Saucony shoes for over 30 years and the Jazz and Shadow models have been personal favorites. Very sturdy and comfortable. They are basic training shoes, perfectly suited to normal runners for daily use on all surfaces. Can be slick when it is wet out. Hope they never quite producing them.

These shoes are ready to go right out of the box. No break-in required. Nice, conservative styling. Hope they never discontinue.

Ive worn these shoes for over 15 years. To me they are the Holy Grail of running shoes. Nothing can be better. I hope they will be made forever.
If they are not I have a closet with about 20 new pairs in reserve.

I have been wearing this shoe for 16 years. It's the best I have ever found. I live in fear of the day it won't be available any more. My feet need as much cushioning as they can get, and a wide toe box. I have found this shoe provides more cushioning than any other shoe I've tried. It also has a wide enough toe box to keep my toes from getting squeezed together. I happen to wear size 11 1/2 D. It's a very comfortable shoe for me, and as has been noted in several other reviews, I can take them out of the box and immediately go for run without really having to break them in. Normally I get 400-500 miles out of a pair. I've noticed when the shoes wear out, I wear out the heel; never the front half of the sole.

I've worn this shoe for 15 years and can slip on right out of the box and run 6 miles without blinking. Best shoe for me, medium build, 20 miles/week - this shoe does not disappoint! yes I realize it's not about style, this one just wants to get up and go! Please keep this proven winner in stock, looking for anothrer 15 years of support from RRS, you guys rock!

This is a great running shoe, for outside pavement surfaces. It's great for flat running. I tried playing racquetball in it, but I rolled my ankle, but that was my mistake to use it outside of the running use.
