I've tried many, many different running shoes and these are without a doubt, my all-time favorite. I'm medium build, average 15-20 mi/wk, and wear orthotics for flat feet. Doubt I'll ever find another "perfect" shoe when these are discontinued.

I usually run in ProGrid and decided to give the 3D Grid a try. There is no pain at all while running and the shoe fits well and feels great. But... it feels super heavy and does not have the cushiness and springiness that I like. I just can't run more than 4 miles or so in them...feels like I have cement tied to my ankles and my legs are achy later.

The Hurricane 7s do not fit like other Sauconys. The size 9s are 1/2" shorter than my older size 9 Trigons (and shorter than my 8.5 Grids, too). They are narrower across the ball of the foot. I've preferred Saucony for 20 years and the fit of these are a major disappointment. I've returned them and bought a pair of Guides - in size 8.5.

I've had so many pairs of this shoe I've lost count. I tried the Hurricane 9 last year and it was so soft & cushioned my calves ached, so I returned to the 7. I'm afraid to try anything else. They're comfortable right away and provide ample support without feeling rigid. While they appear to be geared to people with large frames, they work well for me (114 lbs., 5'5"). They last about 300 m. for me & I know when to replace when something starts aching (usually my knee).

Great combination of stability and cushioning. I suffer from plantar fasciitis and it has improved tremendously in the two weeks I have been running in this shoe. The shoe is comfortable and has the right amount of cushioning and stability for me. Unfortunately, like many of the others who have reviewed the shoe, the sole wears very, very quickly. Wrote about this shoe back in May, predicting that I'd need another pair at the 150 mile mark. Was right about that. I alternate two pair of shoes, averaging 25 miles or so per week. The shoes feel incredibly soft and comfotable, but the soles wear out entirely too quickly, but I may stick with them and buy them more often. Any suggestions for other shoes with the same feel but longer lasting soles?

I have been running regularly for only six months, and at 250lbs, this was the third pair of shoes I have tried that is recommended for heavy runners. So far, it is the most comfortable shoe by far and holds up well for my 3-5 mile runs. No hot spots and no arch pain, which was my experience with the Kayano and NB991. Highly recommend for a large runner.

Thu, July 21,2005:
I had run in Kayanos for the past three years, but the Kayano XI has no stability in it, so I tried these. On the 20 mile runs I've done on rolling hills, I would say that my joint and muslce soreness is as much as 20% less with this shoe than the Kayanos. But the toe box of this shoe is very narrow and will likely make your little toe sore, even though I bought one full size larger than my street shoe. And I recently ran a 50 mile race in these on hilly and sometimes uneven terrain, and ended up with a huge sore spot on the forward ball of my right foot, almost like a stone bruise, despite having both feet taped the entire length with seemless Elastikon tape that normally leaves me blister free in other shoes. So, the shoe has some pros and some cons, but I think they are a step up from Kayanos.

I was kind of hesitant to buy the Hurricane 7 since I had unfortunate luck with the Hurricane 6. After reading all the reviews, I opted to once again invest in a pair of Saucony shoes. What a surprise! The 7.s are great running shoes. I took them out of the box and ran 8 miles with no complications. I compare the feel of the 7.s to that of the Brooks Adrenaline GTS5 with just a tad more stability. For all who were disappointed with the Hurricane 6, Saucony has redeemed themselves with the 7.s!

I have been running in Asics Creed, Kayano and Empire and developed plantar and ankle problems. They new Kayano (XI) is rediculously firm and not all that stable. Local shoe store recommended these and am I glad! The past several versions of this shoe seemed firm, but the 7's are super comfortable. The added cushioning in the heel and the on the insole was just what was needed. If you need good rearfoot stability and are looking for some cushioning to go with it, give these a try. Nice job Saucony!

I've run in Brooks for years but my last pair of Adrenalines broke down fairly early so I decided to try the Hurricane 7. Right off the bat I had some problem with the outside of my little toes. I loosened up the front laces and the discomfort went away. Kinda strange considering I have fairly narrow feet. On my longer runs I can feel some tendon strain around my heels. The cushioning and stability is fine, but no better than other shoes I've had. After reading other reviews I had thought I was getting a wonder shoe. Don't get me wrong, I like them but I wouldn't spend $120 again for a shoe that is not that much better than a $85 pair.

I need a stability shoe... and at 185lbs I like a lot of cushion. The previous Hurricane 6 fit my feet really well and had a lot of material in the heel but it was pretty stiff. The shoe ran a little like a brick. The new Hurricane 7 addressed that with some softer (yellow) material in the mid-foot and a similar little yellow wedge in the heel. The ride is greatly improved and pretty much exactly what I would have done if I was trying to engineer the shoe to work better for me. The landing is softer without losing that nice thick feel of the heel in the Hurricane 6. And the heel-toe transition is much better with the softer material in the mid-foot. Here is the only real problem. The new softer yellow material wears out really fast. I have a new pair with less then 200 miles on them and the yellow mid-foot portion of the sole is pretty much gone. (The rest of the tread is pretty entact as one would hope it would be after 200 miles.) I love the ride of these shoes but they really wear o

I loved the 5's for the support and fit. The 6 was a brick of a shoe that I gave away to a poor college kid. The 7 is very different in that it is softer all around than previous models. The medial post is also softer so I don't believe these are as controlling than the 5 or 6 but I really like them so far. If the medial support works out ok for me these will be perhaps the most perfect shoe I've ever found. We'll find out in about 100 miles or so if my knees stay happy.

Right out of the box I ran a 19-miler. It felt great. However, the next weekend I ran a 17-miler and it gave me a little red spot (not quite a blister) under my right arch. The weekend after that (this past weekend) I ran another 18-miler but it was fine... So, I'm just going to ignore that little red "rubbing spot." I loved the H5, hated the H6. I came back to the Hurricane series because I'm starting to get ankle sore after long runs with the thinner NB-900. H7 is the best trainer for me so far. Upper part of the shoes is very comfortable. It isn't as responsive as the H5 but it is also much softer - just a little trade off. My strides feel more natural than other training shoes I've worn before. Speaking of natural-feeling strides, I wonder how Nike Free is. Nike let me down many years ago that I swored never to go back. But Nike Free's theory sounds really logical. I've read before somewhere that you should train young runners by having them running barefooted. Anyw

Right out of the box....this shoe REALLY ROCKS!! It has plenty of cushioning with just the right amount of medial support and overall stability. It offers the best ride of ANY SHOE, and I mean that, ANY SHOE....I have ever run in....including various editions of the Brooks Trance, which don't even come close....and the past 5 versions of the Asics Gel Kayano, including the NEW Kayano XI....none of which can holod a candle to the Hurrcane 7!! Best stable shoes on the market, I am 6'1 200 pounds I run 20-25 per week. These shoes are by far the best... on the market- beat Kayano 11 and Mizuno Nirvana.. by a long shot.....

I like the new Hurricane 7. I've worn Hurricanes off and on for a while, and this one seems to be more cushioned, and have more flexibility in the forefoot. I ran a 20-miler this morning in them and they were great!

Wow! I was a huge fan of the Hurrican e 5, but not so much of the 6. The 7 fits just like the Hurricane 5 but is more cushioned! Out of the box, these shoes rock!
