I usually run in ASICS Nimbus but thought I would try something different and cheaper. Unfortunately I have had a problem with my legs on the three occasions I have run in these shoes - sore knee and sore calf muscle. I am 5'10 (178cm) and 70kg ?lbs) and they did not work for me. On returning to Nimbus I have not had the same problems.

This shoe also gave me blisters
on my arch. This shoe has
an arch support, the original

arch support bothers me (especially
with long runs). I Will
probably get the original triumph

Love this shoe!
I'm a big guy 6'4" 230 lbs and there is plenty of cush in the heal, but still responsive and not squishy. The forefoot has plenty of room. Fits snug in the back and no blisters. I think I'll buy another pair before they run out.

Ex Nimbus runner(VI was great - everything after is junk) Avg 30+ish miles per week, 5'10" - 175#. Got about 350 miles and normal wear on the outer soles - no where near through yet. Immediately replaced the 'cushy/soft' sock liner w/ Soles thermo-custom footbeds and the result has been a fantastic setup (albeit not cheap).

This is an update to my review in Spring. This shoe is very comfortable but for me (6', 235lbs)but after FIFTY miles they lost almost all cushioning in heel! I tried adding sorbothane inserts but that helped only a little. This is NOT a shoe for heavy runners at or around my weight. Although I don't need motion control, I went to Brooks Beast. Now I have less foot pain and plenty of firm cushioning. Nando was right to trade this shoe if for another.

I love these shoes! I am a Nimbus refugee (disliked the VIII) but have found nirvana! I love the responsiveness of the cushioning and don't find it too cushy. They have a great heel fit - these are the first shoes I haven't had to loop lace. I did, however, need to replace the insoles with aftermarket product because of an arch blister on long runs. Overall, they're fantastic. And in the black/gold color scheme, I feel really stinkin' fast!

33yr old male, 195lbs, runs 30+ miles per week on pavement, track but mostly trail. Great shoe, plenty of room in the forefoot, nice cushioning, responsive, feels good on the foot right out of the box and I've only grown to like it more. Coming off a stress fracture I had continued foot pain and saw a specialist who recommended switching to a neutral + type shoe, and haven't had foot pain since. Have also run in the Mizuno Wave Creations, Kayanos, NB 99X, and Gel Nimbus and DS Trainer X. Prefer this shoe to the others except the DS Trainer because of the ride and lack of foot or other pain. Use it for tempo runs and long runs, not as responsive or "fast" feeling as the DS Trainer for the track.

I'm 235 pounds and a neutral - underpronator. I was wearing Asics Nimbus 7 after 140 miles my IT began to hurt (was in 2004 Chicago marathon and stopped halfway due to IT band). The nimbus was making my tendency to underpronate worse! The very first run with Triumph 4 there was no pain. The shoe helps me to pronate normally and takes stress off my IT band. Three 3 miles runs later and no problems so far.

Very well made shoe with excellent technology. For long distance runs 8 miles plus I give the shoe a 5, but for tempo runs shoe is not responsive and tends to feel heavy with speed. Also, two points regarding fit; it runs a bit bigger than Nike and Adidas, and although the heel rides higher with potential to cause blisters it does soften after a couple of runs. Overall for a neutral plus shoe I think it is excellent. I am 6' 185 lbs and a slight supinator.

These don't hold a candle to the Triumph 3. It's a decent shoe, but I hold Saucony to a higher standard. There's too much cushioning in the heal and not enough in the forefoot. The mesh in the toe is almost non-existent, which is fine if it's dry, but it let's the Iraq mud right in.

I'm a 5'10" woman with big feet, so I wear men's shoes. I wore the Mizuno Wave Creation until they came out with 7 and put in the shock blocks. I've run in this Triumph 4 and they are roomy and comfortable. Because of the higher heel, you have to wear a sock that covers your ankle or else you'll chafe and bleed on your achilles. I've seen some returned at my local running store. With the right sock, this is a fantastic neutral+ shoe.

All I can say to the postive reviews is enoy while you can as they may not last long literally.. I have run in Saucony Triumph and the model changes with the weather. This current model is totally different shoe than the original Triumph with totally different feel. The Triumph 3 with the additional cushioning would last me about 150 miles. Thought I would give the 4 a try to see if they were able to regain any of the durability of the original. Too early to tell with the 4 but have noticed alot of foot pain that started with the introduction of this model for me. The most noticeables is where my toe is rubbing perhaps a sizing issue as mentioned in previous review. The forefoot is the most noticebable change feeling comparatively flat to prior models

I purchased these shoes after reading the reviews from others on this board. I am certainly glad that I did. I echo the comments of others - roomy forefoot, great cushioning (I had a lot of forefoot pain that is now gone), nice ride, and light. On the advice of my local running store I put in a Spenco cross-trainer insert, which makes the cushioning even better. I am 6'2", 182 lbs, running about 20 miles a week. I plan to buy a second pair of these in the next couple of months. These are the most enjoyable shoes to run in that I have owned.

Tried shoe upon recommendation from RR specialist. Very happy. Great fit, room in the midfoot and toe box, yet narrow enough in heal with a moderate arch. Had been very happy in Wave Creations until a drastic change in orthotics forced me to find a lower arch shoe. Great feel right out of the box. 1 month & 100 miles in month in and they feel like new. Like much better than my store bought Nimbus'.

I'm a 210 lb. neutral runner who has found these shoes to provide excellent cushioning that is comparable to any running shoe I've owned, and very good fit for my foot (narrower heel & wider forefoot).
One significant drawback, which Saucony meant to be an advantage during warmer months - the shoes are so breathable that my feet/toes FREEZE during runs in temps of 30s and colder! This trend in more breathable running shoes is not an advantage for people who live in northern latitudes!

I'm 6'5" 190lbs, and this shoe does the trick. I run about 60-70 miles per week, and my long run is a 2 mile hill that climbs 500 feet. I put in 20 miles on the hill running "up and overs" and I wont miss the foot pain I used to get in other shoes while running the mile long down hills. The Saucony's do the trick. It feels like I'm running on pillows.

Sat, February 17,2007:
My first 10 runs in the shoe were fantastic, but since, the extreme flexibility of the midsole (you can easily bend it in half) has perhaps contributed to an immense amount of heel pain that I have developed. This was never a problem with the Triumph 3's, but the rotation in my feet is all screwed up now, and I think the Triumph 4's may be contributing.

Good cushion and very stable. I put 16 miles on them in 3 days and got a nasty blister on my right foot. Left foot was fine. The tongue of the shoe where it is sewn in place to the shoe is uncomfortable. I felt my asics and found that they were sewn flat where the Saucony is just sewn and left sticking out. Kind of a cheap job considering what you pay for these shoes. I will wait to the next version comes out before I buy another pair and see if they fix the problems I encountered.

This shoe is great for light or heavey runners. I have been running in Saucony for 10 years or so and the Triump 4 reminds me of the first Grid Web back in 2000, which to me was the most cusioned and comfortable shoe of all time. It's color was a mixture and wild also. I am presently runing in the Trigon 4 Ride, which is only .3 oz lighter than the Triumph 4. I could not wait to try them when I saw the weight difference and how much cusioning they had. I was not disapointed. My weight is between 150-155 and this netural + shoe is as light and responsive as any netural shoe I have worn. This is the best all around shoe that Saucony has come out with since that ugley but great Grid Web back in 2000.

I have spent the last couple of years running in the Wave Rider and Nimbus. This was my first pair of Saucony's, and I'm glad I made the switch. I have been booking between 30 and 40 miles a week in my Triumph 4's, and they are just as comfortable after putting a couple hundred miles on them as they were the day I took them out of the box. The only breakdown I am beginning to see is compression set on the lateral forefoot. Other than that, it has been an outstanding performer.

I am a die hard Mizuno Wave Creation runner, but thought I would try these on the advice of one of the RRS Reps.. I have to say I am pretty impressed (so far). Lots od cushion and pretty stable, if that is what you like:-) Probably alittle better cushion than the Mizuno. One thing I did notice, is that the mid sole is pretty stiff. I could really hear my fore foot hit the ground as I rolled from heal to toe. I think it is loosening up now with a few miles. Either that or I turned the up my iPod and now I don't hear it. I definitely like them, but don't know if I am sold on these yet. We'll see how long they last with 200+lbs and 2-5miles a day;-)

I've owned about everything, one of the nicest shoes i've ever tried. Think of cushion of the Asics Nimbus without the bulk and floppy feeling. They got it right with this shoe.

LIke to add this shoe is plenty breathable. You can feel their air in the forefoot and sides as you step outside. After 8 miles with temps at 42 degrees no sweat at all.

I just purchased these at a local running store. I just ran in them today 8 miles without a complaint. I am 6 1" 182lbs neutral runner with medium arches. This shoes was not only light and comfortable it was responsive working with me not against. The toe box is roomy and the cushioning is soft but not to soft. You can still feel the road slightly (which I like). The heel as plenty of cushion and the forefoot just enough. I am returning my Nike Vomeros as they were to tight and worked against me.
