I have the same problems as others. I am a huge fan of the Hurrican series. I always buy Hurricanes. This is a great shoe, everything seems to be improved from the previous model. The problem is longevitiy of the shoe. I too went about 200 miles and the heal has almost completely worn out. Tot...

I have been running in Hurricanes for several years. I loved the 8s but hated the 9s. I had hoped the 10s would have some redeeming qualities. After I bought the shoes, I read some reviews and saw that many people had a problem with the shoes going flat very quickly. I had hoped the my pair woul...

I'm only 110 miles into these so can't speak for durability, but I'm very happy so far. Great cushioning but not too mushy like Adistar Control or Equalon+2. No pinch points of any kind, plenty of room in the toebox, great arch support, and a snug fit...especially in the heel. They're very flexible ...

I have been a loyal Hurricane user for 4 years now and this shoe has taken a turn for the worse. The 9 was a much better shoe. Saucony please make the 11 more like the 9.

I am 6ft2 205lbs and this shoe performs very well. I am training for my first marathon, mostly asphalt running about 30-40 miles a week. I over pronate but this shoe handles it very well. Arch is supportive, width is good. The tread seems to wear a little quick on outside heel, but overall I love th...

i am only 50 miles into these shoes, so i cant comment on how long they will last, but i wear a 9.5 street shoe--always have. my hurricane 7s were size 10 but the size 10s were huge in this version of the shoe. if you are ordering online, consider actually getting your street shoe size. otherwise, t...

At 6'3" and 200 lbs, the forefoot simly doesn't have enough cushion. These are great shoes for 5K and less runs but no more. I wouldn't pay this much again for such a narrow use shoe

I don't know how this shoe is wearing out for so many. Perhaps pick up yer feet! I am 6'2" 230lbs and have well over 200 miles on mine. I even looked close at them after reading these reviews and see no problems. I like the arch support and it fits my narrow feet well. I did not give it five stars b...

Even with orthotics, this shoe is missing the conrol/stability the 9 offered. The motion of my feet in this shoe was so extreme, I was concerned about injury. I loved the 9 and even wore a pair fresh out of the box during last years Houston Marathon. I am going to have to buy up all the 9's I can...

Fri, August 29,2008:
I agree with a few of the reviews regarding the rate at which the outsole wears. I barely got 200 miles out of mine, which is a shame as otherwise this is a great shoe. As it is, they are a tremendous expense for the amount of wear you get out of them.

I have been running in Hurricanes for about 10 years. I run 50+ a week and have tried a multitude of other S+ shoes by the gambit of vendors. I can wear this shoe right out of the box with no breaking in problems and usually get around 300-350 miles per pair. I noticed other runners complained about...

This is a great shoe if it could hold up. I typically run 30-40 miles a week and after about 200 miles the outside started to wear down. Nice fit but don't last.

I have been running in some form of Saucony for 25+ years and it is the only shoe I can wear "right out of the box". Hurricane 10 is expensive but ok if it lasts which it doesn't. I tend to buy shoes 2 pair at a time so I can change off. I have barely got 200 miles on them and the outside of the sho...

Great fitting, comfortable shoes. It takes a few days to get used to the outward tilt, but up until now it has been one of the best shoes I've tried. I was suffering from Plantar Fascitis and now it is almost gone. Thanks Saucony. Great shoe!

Thu, July 03,2008:
Stability shoes are supposed to compensate for pronation. For me, if I pronate, I develop chondromalcia.
Within 2-3 runs wearing these shoes, my knees were killing me. I tried my rarely-used orthotics - still more pain.
These shoes are too soft to be described as a "stability" shoe. There is no r...

I've been a hurricane wearer for many years and now must find a new shoe. The hurricane is a great ride but after 72 hours of running the shoe is useless. After just a few runs I could already see the outside heal wearing down.

I am a long time runner in Saucony's Hurricane shoes. I typically get between 350 to 450 miles out of a pair. I was pleased to see the new X model, but they are already trash after only 205 miles. I guess I have to go buy the classic Hurricanes while they last.

When I found the Hurricane IX I was ecstatic. They were the perfect combination of stiffness and cushioning. I'm fairly flat footed, 170LBS, 5' 10". I was running 30-40 miles a week in the IX on pavement with no injuries or strains. The X is a totally different shoe. It is EXTREMELY flexible and, ...

Much better impact cushioning than my old Hurricane 8's. Toe box is larger, but it's not that big an issue. They're lighter and my stride feels more free and natural - the 8's were very restrictive.

Gerat out of the box feel for about 100 miles then mid-soles start going flat. I went throught 2 pair. No problems like this with the previous Hurricane models. I'm 185 lbs and trail running only. Too bad, these are the best fiting shoe for me......

Sat, April 12,2008:
I have run in Hurricanes for years. I have always liked the stiffness of the Hurricane but the 10 is more flexible. The heel is also not as snug and the shoe just overall fits bigger than the others. I can't quite get comfortable in this shoe - the 9's are still my favorite.

I wear down the outside heels of my shoes which seems to make me an outward (under) pronater. The ProGrid Hurricane 8's worked great for me, providing excellent cushioning and support. When I went to reorder, though, I discovered they had been discontinued and I was stuck with the Hurricane 10 which...

Do not buy half size up. That is not correct. These run large. Feel great so far. Will update after a few more miles.
