5' 11" 195 lbs. flat feet & over pronate. pretty good MC shoe. good fit and comfort. not clunky & stiff like some MC shoes. no foot or knee pain... no complaints so far. would recommend this MC shoe.

I strongly agree with "river roader" below in regards to frustrations about pointy-toed shoes, and especially anything which crams-in on the big toe. I have a flat foot, with wide toes, sorta like swim fins. Since motion-control shoes and flat feet tend to go together, you would expect plenty of freedom for your toes at the edges. Unfortunately, this is rarely the case. My Brooks Addiction 7's were tolerable, if I bought the 4E, and sized 'em slightly long. Mind you, I don't really have a high volume foot or anything, I just need to do all of this to keep my big toe from being crammed ruthlessly and painfully toward the smaller toes. People often recommend Saucony to me for this problem, but I have yet to figure out why. The Grid Stabil fails the big toe test miserably.

I am big guy (6'1", 245 lbs) with flat feet. Over the past few months, as I got back into running after many years of inactivity, I was looking for the right shoe regardless of price. I have also been dealing with a case plantar fasciitis. I tried the Asics Evolution 5 which are nice shoes. The Asics just didn't seem to provide enough support and cushion. Once I ran in the Stabil CS for the first time, I felt the difference. The Stabils just felt solid with the right amount of cushioning and support. They seem a little stiff and heavier than the Asics. However, for myself these goes have been a dream. I have a few 3-4 mile runs in them and I couldn't be happier. They just feel right and I have managed to avoid sore knees while my PF is starting to dissipate. I highly recommend these shoes. I will order a couple more pairs to rotate them...

My review should've said Gel Evolution 4. Not Foundation. My B. Wherever it says Foundation 4, just think Evolution. SORRY!

First off, I'm not your typical MC+ shoe wearer. I'm 6'4, 185 lbs at 7% body fat, a triathlete no longer swimming because of shot rotator cuffs. Obviously, I'm not your typical Clydesdale runner that needs massive amounts of support. I don't think shoe companies get that there are people like me out there who run and exercise a lot and also have, as all my shoe fitters laughingly tell me, pronation that is an 11 on a scale of 1 - 10. Most MC+ shoes weigh too much for people like me to run in, or at least run fast, and make life difficult. The lack of 'bounce' in these shoes is why I rate them a 3. I tried the Beast, but I couldn't do it. It was like running in cinderblocks as they were so heavy and just keep your feet locked where they land. I tried shoes with less support with custom orthotics, and the orthotic heelposts embedded themselves in the sole of the shoe and neutralized the support. I tried less supportive shoes with storebought orthotics, and those didn't do anything.

An excellent shoe...for me. A very light shoe for a motion control model. The forefoot is wide and gets almost no pressure from the laces. The heel fits snugly. Construction is good. The ride is smooth, a little forgiving, but not mushy. (I'm not a typical motion control shoe user - I weigh 160 lbs and have high-ish arches. This shoe might not be supportive enough for someone over 195 lbs.)Very easy to strike with the midfoot and a good toe-off. I would wear this shoe for any type of running except full out racing. I'm stocking up before they change it.

Firm and suppportive, but flexible and light weight; not clunky or stiff like most motion control shoes. A great shoe for big runners.

I did not mean to give it 5 Stars the last review. I hit the wrong button. If I could give it ZERO stars I would. I`ve been wearing Stabils for years and this update is terrible. If you want your running shoes to feel like you are actually wearing army boots and have a penchant for enormous painful blisters this is the shoe for you.

What ruins a fine shoe is the lame-brain upward extension of the midsole to fence in/impinge on, the BIG TOE. I've not seen this IDIODIC IDEA on any running shoe before - Can't "break" it in. Allow me to illustrate: http://i42.tinypic.com/2j2hy6c.jpg Saucony comes up with THIS after its needle-nose Stabil 6 ????

The moment I got these shoes I knew I made a good choice. These are the most comfortable shoe I have ever bought. They are great to help prevent overpronation and are worth the price

I've gone for two runs and so far they're pretty sweet. Not too heavy and love the cush. FYI, they work well with my orthodics.
