Give the Shoe Dog a Biscuit!

I am writing on behalf of my client Donna. Donna came to me with the goals of weight loss and re-conditioning. She was in the dead wrong pair of shoes for her goals. I'm not sure what type of shoe she was in but somewhere between a boutique walker and fashionable fitness is where I'd classify them. She needed something that fit her mechanics and build, which is where the Shoe Dog came in. As a Personal Trainer for general and special populations and Performance Enhancement Specilaist with the National Academy of Sports Medicine working with world class athletes I value highly what the Shoe Dog can do for me in providing a reliable selection of shoes for each client and their specific needs. I can plug in their specs and in seconds I have more than twenty pairs of shoes in all colors and fashions for them to choose from. The Shoe Dog gives me confidence that my clients will be able to chase after their goals with the right shoe and thereby reduce the chance for sore feet, sore knees and all the other excuses that keep clients from doing the cardio/workouts they need to do to achieve their goals. Simply put, when Donna got her pair of Saucony ProGrid Hurricane 11 on her feet she smiled so big and wide and was so excited to be in a shoe that seemed to be made perfectly for her feet. Her workouts have now become a pleasure because of the comfort of fit and reliability of construction. Thank you Shoe Dog for making my life easier and my business more successful!

But not as small sized as they say

5

Currently use for trail and pavement jogging and walking. The last two pairs I bought, one was a little small, so I took the advice of the site and ordered the next too pairs a half size larger. These were too large! I feel like Goldilocks! Will return one pair, already started using the other. These are great for people with narrower heels relative to toe box. These shoes are very durable, and keep looking good even when they should be retired. Keep track of your mileage so you know when it's time.

Deserved a relook!

Watch your width on ordering. Narrow heel cup and wide toe box are interesting mix. In most Saucony I wear Medium width. In this one I needed to order wide because the heel cup was so pronounced that it compressed the back of my foot. Almost gave up on the shoe but decided to try in wide and it was nearly perfect, ( now the toe is a touch wide and I need to lace tightly.) That being said, I love to run in this shoe.

Light and bouncey

5

So far these shoes have been great. I haven't been running regularly since I got them due to completely unrelated injuries (really bad sunburn, etc) but the few runs I have had have been great. I feel very light on my feet and feel like the shoes are moving me forward. I typically feel like I am stomping when I am running and have had trouble with my feet going numb but that is all changed with these new shoes.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality, comfort and durability of this product. With a tight budget these days, I could no longer afford the higher-end Sauconies (my favorites for the past 20 years). This shoe was on special, and it fit within my budget parameters. I was genuinely surprised and would definitely order it again.

After running on expired shoes for most of the winter, I finally purchased these shoes. A loyal Mizuno Wave Alchemy wearer for years, I decided to give these Sauconys a try. The first day I bought them, I did a 32K long run on pavement. Wow. What a noticeably comfortable run- and I even forgot to apply Body Glide. I have wide feet, and I find the arch lock hugs just perfectly. The toe is just roomy enough. We'll see how they handle Boston and Comrades!

Excellent Shoe

5

I am usually a Brooks girl to the death, but I picked up these shoes to add to my arsenal at the suggestion of a friend, and I'm thrilled. They are cushioned but not clunky, they are roomy in the toebox, and they don't give me any problems whatsoever. I have been rotating them in with my marathon training and have been nothing but happy with them. Would recommend to anyone needing a reliable and versatile stability shoe.

Welcome Back!

5

Love at first run! I'm a heavy, female, distance runner with underpronation issues. I was a Saucony fan in the '80s and left because they wore out too quickly. Came back because of the reviews on the Hurricane 11 and chronic Achilles tendonitis, which was beginning to interrupt training. I ran five today and no leg pain or issues! These seem to be the fix for me.

Just Like A Hurricane

5

An outstand pair of shoes, before I purchased these shoes, I was having severe issues with my knees and the beginning of shin splints, immediately after running with my Saucony I felt the difference, a week later and no pain. I highly recommend these shoes to anyone, I mean running is hard enough for a 50 year old, why compound it with pain. Happy Running Lisa

I liked them so much, I bought 3 pairs

5

I've worn the Hurricane since it first came out. I have had knee problems (from bad doctor care) for the last 10yrs. I didn't care for the hurricane 10 and even tried New Balance, which did not work out,so I decided to try the Hurricane 11 and am thrilled to be back in Saucony which is where I belong.

Great Running Shoe

4

I've been struggling trying to find the perfect shoe since Asics Kayano took a lacing spin -- Other than the Brooks Trance this is my go to shoe - I just purchased my third pair of these and love them - Nice glove like fit- I struggle with heel pain and this shoe helps keep it at bay. Definately worth a try if you are in search of a dependable running partner!

I'm stocking up - love this shoe!

4

I have size 5 flat feet with a really high arch when not standing, so I have orthotics and a very limited number of running shoes to choose from due to my size 5. It's also hard to find running shoes that have enough room for the orthotics and yet still provide me the cushioning that my knees want. I thought I'd never be able to replace my NB 1225's, but this is the shoe for me!

Twice and just as nice

5

This is my second go around with this shoe. I've worn Saucony for my entire (25 years) running life and when I find one I like I buy several pairs of them before they discontinue them. My foot is a size 7 1/2 and I have always worn a size 8 in Saucony so size up. And I have wide feet so the roomy toe box works great for me.

excellent shoe!

5

After my favorite Saucony Jazz was discontinued several years ago, I bounced from one shoe to another trying to find another good one. Finally, this shoe meets my expectations! Excellent arch support, excellent motion control, excellent cushioning. I'm finally running pain free! Love this shoe!

Sacony is my shoe

5

I've been a Sacony fan for over 20 years, but the shoes seems to get narrow, now they are perfect again. Sacony has the cutout in the heel, this has been a great feature and reversed and prevented many foot problems. It absorbs a lot of impact and it has worked for me.

Have owned several pairs of Hurricanes..

4

Having loved last seasons Hurricanes (which I was fitted for in store) I eagerly purchased three pairs on special from Road Runners with the intention of rotating them so my shoes can 'rest' between training runs... After only a month or two, the fabric on the inside heels are wearing thin and I'm weary of blisters. I also find them stiffer than the 10's and have started having trouble with my shins, which I believe is a result of 'not quite right shoes'. Despite loveing the look, I'm not going to bother stocking up during the current sale!

Works well with my orthodics - reluctantly switched from NB1222 and 1223 when that line no longer came in my small size, but I am now an avid Saucony wearer. I am disappointed thought that Saucony is now discontinuing my small size 5 in the Hurricane 12's.

Great Shoe

5

This shoe is the best for me, especially since plantar fascitis onset, after wearing a competitor's shoe. No longer wearing an insert, this shoe alone, is all the support and stability I need. I have two sets, one for just in case!

Great shoes [...]

I am on my fourth pair of these shoes! I love them, they have great stability and cushioning. I run 6 - 16 miles/day and am training for a marathon in May and the Chicago Marathon in October. I will be wearing these shoes for both events.

5

True saucony fan! I switched to them after a friend suggested trying them. I need a shoe that has a taller toe box and this one delivers. Since switching to these shoes, I have not lost a toe nail! What a relief. I would highly recommend this brand.

My everday running shoe

I always run in saucony hurricanes and this edition is very comfortable for longer runs. I always wish my shoes lasted longer, but for a long distance runner, these provide good cushion and are very easy on the feet.

Hurricane Wear for Years

I have been running in Hurricanes for several years now. Average 20 - 30 miles per week. Through black 11 seems a bit smaller in the toe box, suffered a couple of blisters in my last marathon training.

I'm a tall, thin runner ...

3

I'm a tall, thin runner cursed with flat feet, bunions and narrow heels. I run 20 miles+ per week and run a lot of hills. My last shoe was the Nike Triax and wasn't overly thrilled with it so thought I would try Saucony's (again). It is a great stability shoe but it is a little narrow in the toe box and after running a few miles of hills I noticed my little toes were starting to rub on the insides of the shoe. I also did not find it all that flexible for running NC hills. The heel was nice and snug though - great for narrow heels. I ended up sending them back after testing them on two short runs (I foresee blisters on longer runs) and exchanged them for the new Nike Triax 12. We'll see how those differ from the 11 model.

I've been buying Saucony since the Jazz series back in the 1980's. The Hurricane line has had some big mistakes, such as Hurricane 9 & 10. But they finally got it right with the 11. The fit is great (I wear one size larger than normal for my marathon runs)

This shoe is just great! It fits wonderfully. I only buy Saucony now since the fit is perfect for me. No rubbing or tight spots and the heel is not loose. It is very, very comfortable and supports and cushions the foot quite well. All in all, it is a wonderful shoe!

I love the Hurricane X, but the arch seems to have moved in the XI to where it causes me pain to wear them. I tried a Superfeet insole, which made the problem worse. I hope that the Hurricane X continues to be available, because I can't wear this shoe.

Have been a Kayano loyalist since the IXs, but the new lacing on the 15s was a little too radical-looking for me. I'm 5'10" and 160 and overpronate. Got fitted for the Hurricane as an alternative. HUGE MISTAKE. 100 miles later, I am dealing with nagging piriformis, IT Band and hamstring tendinitis issues. Little toes rub the outer edge of the shoe. THe 'Arch lock" feature irritated my arch. This was a $140 mistake.

I loved the flexibility of the 10's, these feel much stiffer and less comfortable. even after giving them a chance to "break in" they still gave me soreness on the soles of my feet during shorter runs (4 mi) and longer runs (10+ mi). decided to take mine back.

I just ran the Army 10 miler in these right out of the box and although they weren't as cushiony as I would have liked, I felt good after the run was over. I love this shoe! I think i'm on my 3rd or 4th pair, but don't get me wrong, they hold up well. I use the older pairs as cross trainers. The arch support is great, roomy toes, soft landings. I like that they aren't tight and that cool air can come in through the toes.
