Comments about Mens Saucony ProGrid Guide 5 Running Shoe: I'm a runner for about 30mi a week, on track, pavement and some trail. I love the 8mm heel drop. it certainly makes a forefoot run seamless. unfortunately i developed peroneal tendinitis while wearing these...more likely my fault than the shoes. I cant compare these to anything else on the market right now. just enough cushion so your feet dont hurt. I use superfeet insoles to compliment the shoe as well. overall GREAT shoes, will buy again

Comments about Mens Saucony ProGrid Guide 5 Running Shoe: I tried running with adidas sequence, asics kayano, five fingers, new balance minimus, and brooks pure cadence. So far this model guide from saucony is far superior from the shoes I previously mentioned. Good stability, enough cushioning. Im 5'10, 160 lbs. Great shoe. Will be using it for marathon.

Comments about Mens Saucony ProGrid Guide 5 Running Shoe: They are very firm, stability shoe and will fix your running form. I feels great while working out, squats especially. The only problem I have with them is they feel too big in the toe area and tight in the center of my foot. This problem is easily avoided by tightening my shoe...

Comments about Mens Saucony ProGrid Guide 5 Running Shoe: I've only been a runner for about 20 months now and quickly moved from a drop 12mm to the Guide 5's that feature an 8mm drop. I have run everything from short training runs, speed training (400 repeaters, fartlek, tempo), to a marathon in these. I have experienced excellent durability and have easily gotten 300-400 miles on each of the first two pairs and am now closing in on 100 miles in the third pair. For what they are they are fairly lightweight though nobody would confuse them with shoes that are designed for light weight. They are very comfortable and I hardly know I'm wearing them.

Comments about Mens Saucony ProGrid Guide 5 Running Shoe: Saucony is my go to shoe because their wide shoes fit me better than any of the competition. New Balance doesn't have a wide enough toe box and my toe rubs on all New Balance shoes. I run 20-30 miles a week in these shoes and absolutely love the lighter feel and the heel to toe drop. I'm going to buy the 6 next.
Pros Cons
Best Uses Comments about Mens Saucony ProGrid Guide 5 Running Shoe: Have no idea how Saucony got to the Guide 5 from the very good Guide 3 and Guide 3 Trail versions. For my foot the Guide 5 is unwearable, and uncomfortable. After wearing for a couple weeks, got some strange top of foot pain which lasted for weeks. I'm back to my old, very worn and beat up last pair of Guide 3's which still absolutely destroys the Guide 5 and even the Hurricane 14 in comfort and support. If Saucony wants to do the right thing they would have a buy back program the Guide 5. It is not at all a better shoe than the Guide 3.

Comments about Mens Saucony ProGrid Guide 5 Running Shoe: I run between 50 and 60 miles a week and need a good durable yet light shoe. I am always looking for deals and willing to try something new. The Guide 5 is an incredilbe light weight stability shoe. Ran a 7 miler right out of the box and it performed flawless. Sizing felt like a half size too big, but other than that it is a great shoe. Looking forward to longer runs to see how it performs.

Comments about Mens Saucony ProGrid Guide 5 Running Shoe: The Guide 5 is a great choice if you're looking for a shoe that protects you from the road, but does little else. The heel/toe drop is pretty minimal for this style of shoe and will allow you to run with good form.

Comments about Mens Saucony ProGrid Guide 5 Running Shoe: I had been using Asics Gel-Kayano shoes forever until this last pair began rubbing my heel raw. To be honest I had always experienced a lot of heel slippage with Asics and I wanted to find a shoe that fit properly. I tried a couple of different brands and the only shoe that felt "right" was this Saucony ProGrid Guide 5. I run on the road and these are light with good cushioning and stability and they cup my heel nicely. They run a little small so order a half-size up. I don't think that any running shoe offers adequate arch support out of the box so I use Sole's insoles (apparently not offered on this site).
