Comments about Mens Saucony PowerGrid Hurricane 14 Running Shoe: I have been running in 4 pairs of Asics Gel Kayano 17 and 18's for the past two years. I am a 210 pound runner and love the support and durability of the Gel Kayanos. Wanting a back up shoe for my new 18's, I thought I would try something different. After alot of research the features of the new Saucony PowerGrid Hurricane 14 sounded like a winner. They arrived yesterday and went out for a 7 mile run. With the new 8MM heel to toe drop, my foot strike and motion transfer felt much more natural than the Gel Kayano. The stability and cushioning was amazing. I took 20 seconds per mile off my average training pace for this course. I can't wait to try them out again. My new Gel Kayano 18's are only a few weeks old, but it may be hard to wear them again after experiencing the Saucony PowerGrid Hurricane 14's. Would highly recommend for the larger runners out there. First pair of Saucony's, but not my last.

Comments about Mens Saucony PowerGrid Hurricane 14 Running Shoe: I'm writing this after one six mile run. These shoes are lighter than my previous "stability" shoes, and are very comfortable on my wide-ish feet. They feel true to size and width. My most common run is on an old railroad grade, not quite trail, but there are plenty of ruts and dips. The shoes felt perfectly stable, and don't seem to ride too high. Throughout my run, my feet were telling me they really like the pillowy ride of these shoes.

Best Uses Comments about Mens Saucony PowerGrid Hurricane 14 Running Shoe: WHAT happened!?!?! Last year's Hurricane was a fantastic, supportive shoe. This year's is flimsy with absolutely NO support at all. You can ball it up with one hand. The heel support is totally gone. The impact protection is gone. This shoe looks absolutely cheaply made. The "paint" and the stitching are not even clean looking. The progrid system that I loved is gone. I hate this shoe. Returned it. I'll gladly stick to my old models if I can still find them. I don't know WHAT they were thinking.
Comments about Mens Saucony PowerGrid Hurricane 14 Running Shoe: I wear a 9.5 but this shoe is an entire size too small.

Comments about Mens Saucony PowerGrid Hurricane 14 Running Shoe: I usually buy two pair every 6 months. For some reason one pair got worn by my big toe. I think they should use more vinyl and less webbing.

Comments about Mens Saucony PowerGrid Hurricane 14 Running Shoe: I have been running in Asics Kayano's for at least 15 years, and it seems like the last couple of models have been getting lighter, less supportive, and less pronation control. My hips had been bothering me after long runs in the Kayanos, so decided to try a different running shoe. So far, I really like the Saucony shoes, they don't have as much cushion as the Kayanos, but better motion control, which prevents the soreness in my knees, and hips after a long run.

Comments about Mens Saucony PowerGrid Hurricane 14 Running Shoe: I purchased these shoes because I was having of series of injury problems. The shoes did not improve my foot problem and seemed rigid/stiff. They are well made and light but they just do not feel right. I like shoes that do not cause my feet to be the focus of my runs. I thought the shoes had a harsh ride, but unlike some comments I have read, I had no problems adjusting to the heel to toe offset.

Comments about Mens Saucony PowerGrid Hurricane 14 Running Shoe: Unfortunately these are too narrow for me even in 2E. This was a surprise because the Triumph 9 fits perfectly in the same exam size and width. Very strange! The forefoot needs to be re-worked to be just like the Triumph. In terms of stablity they are not much different from the Triumph even though one is Neutral and the other is Stability! The cushioning is their best asset. If you don't have wide feet, then these are excellent.

Comments about Mens Saucony PowerGrid Hurricane 14 Running Shoe: I've spent years running with knee pain and having tried most all shoes including unsuccessfully Saucony. I'd been trying to switch to the mid-foot strike running method without success until I bought the Saucony Hurricane. This shoe has got me into the method with ease and I'm now running virtually pain free. Best shoe I've ever had and I'm not one to scrimp on shoes due to price.
Comments about Mens Saucony PowerGrid Hurricane 14 Running Shoe: Ran in these and precursors for 20+ years but (like Eric) developed Morton's neuroma in foot that had developed bunion. Cut slit in side and used metatarsal insert with complete relief. Switched to New Balance 1012 with 2E width so I didn't have to slit shoe, but the heels have worn out very quickly and I've developed gastroc pain which happened once before in NB. Now that there is a Saucony 2E I'm switching back.

Comments about Mens Saucony PowerGrid Hurricane 14 Running Shoe: Here is the promised update, somewhat later than expected. I trained for and ran in the SF Marathon in these shoes. It turned out the left shoe is too narrow for my foot, and this caused some pain from my (self diagnosed) Morton's neuroma (ouch!). I had some calf cramping in the marathon, but overall the lower heel has not been an issue... and now I prefer it.

Comments about Mens Saucony PowerGrid Hurricane 14 Running Shoe: I suffered from plantar fasciitis that I attribute to another brand of shoe. I switched to this shoe after suffering for over a year. Shoe Dog recommended this shoe so I thought I'd try it out. After a few months of running in this shoe my plantar fasciitis has been subsiding which I attribut to this shoe. I will continue to use this shoe until they change the model and I can no longer wear it....as Saucony has done to me in the past.

Comments about Mens Saucony PowerGrid Hurricane 14 Running Shoe: Just purchased and have dozen runs accomplished. Little to no break in needed. Cushioning is great. Absolutely encourages a mid foot strike, which was perfect for my stride. Cool pocket on tongue for key storage, if needed. All in all, exactly what I was looking for.

Comments about Mens Saucony PowerGrid Hurricane 14 Running Shoe: I easily logged 345 miles on the Hurricane 13's that I had previously used and they still had life in them. The 14's sole started wearing badly after one hundred miles. Now at 250 miles I am through the sole and into the white underlayment of the sole. Additionally, the mesh on both shoes are torn. Really poorly constructed, moving on to Brooks which are made in America.
