Comments about Mens Skechers Resistance Runner - Resistor Toning & Fitness Shoe:

I've been using these a couple weeks. These are amazing shoes, not for everyone, but the technology is for real. I use the original Sketcher Shape Up shoes for casual wear and find them great for walking or when I'm required to be on my feet all day. I've tried running in them for a short distance but the original Shape Ups are not suitable for running. Also would like to throw in my 2 cents on the fitness aspect, this is nonsense as any extra calories burned (if any) is minimal. Wearers get sore muscles initially only due to using different muscles. This fitness claim rightfully causes skepticism about the shoes although they can stand on their own merits, without the BS. The SSR is a different shoe than the original, the shape is much less pronounced and does not have that mushy feel under the arch. They run very soft and smooth, one of the first things I noticed was how quiet my foot strike was. As you land behind the center of the foot you continue rolling forward which spreads the impact over into toe off phase. For me, I have found that a shorter stride with a faster turnover seem most natural with the SSR and provides that "falling forward" feeling that modern running techniques teach. These are not a fast shoe, as they are somewhat on the heavy side and have thick cushioning, neither of which translates into speed. At first my running times seemed to be maybe 10-15 sec/mile slower but now are pretty much the same. Uphill is more effort as toe off requires you to engage the calf muscles more. Downhill is awesome as you are not getting the heel braking/impact and they just seem to roll down the hill. No stability issue running on an even surface, I have not tried them for trail running but almost certainly there would be less stability than a normal shoe. They are not too breathable and need some open mesh. Probably not the shoe of choice for a fast, efficient runner and I hate to disappoint anyone but you are not going to run 3 miles and get the equivalent workout of running 5. I'm not a doctor (I only play one on TV) but I think this design may help runners with plantar fasciitis, achilles issues or anyone looking for a low impact, ergonomic shoe. I have a neutral stride. Fit is typical for running shoes, I ordered the standard 1/2 size up. Arch and width seem about average.

Comments about Mens Skechers Resistance Runner - Resistor Toning & Fitness Shoe:

Needed new shoes for my days out pushing the jogging stroller. Needed to maximize my return on limited time to exercise. Needed to look good doing it. Have also recently worn them out for errands around the neighborhood.

The only drawback, which is not surprising with the design concept, is that any lateral movement is uncomfortable and feels like you could roll your ankle.

Overall I'd definitely recommend, if you're man enough to wear Sketchers.

Comments about Mens Skechers Resistance Runner - Resistor Toning & Fitness Shoe:

GREAT SHOES! By far the most cushioned shoe I've ever used. Absurdly heavy (1 lb each for size 9), and not breathable at all (which makes no sense for a running shoe). Can't wait for newer models to come out that are lighter and have some open mesh. It will you take a while to get used to them. It encourages a front/middle strike and the foot naturally rolls over into toe off. Well worth trying if you are having injury issues. I run a little slower in them but not bad considering the weight. I don't want to run in anything else, tried an old pair of shoes and just can't use them anymore. If you are skeptical Skecher has a 15 day return 'em if you don't like them policy.I would have given 5 stars if just a little lighter and more breathable. Also all that toning stuff is fiction.
