I actually have the XA Pro 3D GTX, but with or without Gore Tex they will behave the same. I bought mine for Backpacking. At 6'1", 165 I am lucky to not need hightop hiking boots, thus the low cuts. Just returned from 4 days,30 miles in the NC Mts., with snow up to our calves all day long. These w...

Crazy/stupid... but true. I bought these, took them out of the box and went on a 7 mile trail run. It had rained hard the day before so the trail was muddy. I totally expected my feet to hurt, some-what, after the run. They didn't. And the muddy trail... no problem... didn't slip once... not ev...

Ran in them twice on trails and blistered so badly they became my expensive yard-work shoes. The front of the arches caused crazy bad blistering.

I really like these shoes. I do a lot of trail running and these provide excellent traction and are very stable on rough terrain. They do not have a lot of cushioning for long runs on hard surfaces, but these shoes a are great for rocky, rooty, muddy, sandy, stump covered trail races.

Excellent toe protection, great climbing & descending tread. Very comfortable fit with a snug heel & roomy toe box. The lace design tends to slip if you don't roll the strings before tucking them away. The big negative for me was burning toes. During a 30K trail race my toes blistered so badly that...

Solid shoe but I felt forefoot pain with long distance racing. The fit didn't seem ideal for me. I've had better success with the Merrell Fanatic.

Ran 6 miles on asphalt to break these in. Lacing provides a snug fit and they felt fast. Not a lot of cushioning in the forefoot, probably a lot better off pavement. Still a solid shoe.

Find this shoe to be too hard for distances in excess of 80km. Otherwise superb.
