Comments about Mens Salomon XT Wings 3 Trail Running Shoe: Hubby recovering from broken hip, I asked for advice on a shoe with good traction for a Wis. winter. This shoe is everything he could have asked for, he is so pleased with this shoe!
Comments about Mens Salomon XT Wings 3 Trail Running Shoe: Great shoe! Excellent support but found it too narrow for my feet.

Comments about Mens Salomon XT Wings 3 Trail Running Shoe: Great shoes, look great and are comfortable. Amazing grip, you can shimmy down 45 degree rock without slipping, but for some reason I always get blisters on the same area of each foot, which I don't get with other shoes. Will be swapping for a new pair to see if it was just a defect in the shoes, but seeing as it happens on both left and right, I feel it might repeat with new versions...

Comments about Mens Salomon XT Wings 3 Trail Running Shoe: Took them 34 tough trail miles right out of the box with zero foot issues

Comments about Mens Salomon XT Wings 3 Trail Running Shoe: The XT Wings 3 runs about 1/2 size larger than the XT Wings 2 (which I had 2 pairs of last year). I ordered a size 12 in the XT Wings 3's instead of the size 12.5 I had been running with the XT Wings 2. But even going 1/2 size smaller, the toe box seems a bit large and lets my toes bang hard against the toe.

Comments about Mens Salomon XT Wings 3 Trail Running Shoe: Came back to XT Wings and am very happy except for the black color which feels hot here in the desert even when it's cool. Feel a tad stiffer than the 2s but very solid on technical ground. Would not recommend for hard, wet surfaces as these are not sticky rubber. All in all though a very solid performer and perhaps the best of Salomon's current off road offerings. Recommended.

Comments about Mens Salomon XT Wings 3 Trail Running Shoe: These Salomon performed exceptionally last season when I ran in the Gran Canyon the Bright Angel trail (47.8 miles, 30-84F, Very dry). The biggest flaw is the insole that comes with them and the narrow chassis for a D width. I used customized insoles and had run 137 miles so far with no issues. The toe protection is pretty good as well as the traction, which makes of them my first choice for rocky terrain. I would highly recommend evaluating one's running mechanics before buying them because the lack of flexibility and cushion require an experience runner to get the most on the trail.
