I sweat... a LOT. These caps help keep me going in even the hottest temperatures. I can always notice a big difference when I don't use these caps during a run. The caffine adds a small kick in the pants just when you need it!

I've used SaltStick since day one of my foray into ultra distance running, 3 years ago, both during racing and training and after. No side effects, and the only electrolyte imbalance I've ever suffered is... duh... when I forgot to take my SaltStick. The new caffeinated product is particularly awesome, as it helps prevent the dreaded high and crash I feel once I add caffeine into my nutrition in the late hours of a 50-100 mile race. By keeping a steady, but safe amount of caffeine coming into my system at regular intervals; I'm able to avoid those crashes & since it's already in the product I've been taking every hour all day, it's one less thing to remember. Which is obviously great when you've been running for over 15 hours. I like to use regular SaltStick throughout the day and switch to PLUS in the evening. For shorter races (50k, 50mi), I can use PLUS for the whole thing.

Two of my favorite training and race items are SaltStick capsules and caffeine. Imagine my utter surprise when the two were combined into a lovely green and white package. I've used SaltStick Plus in a few races, and found that it does everything I love in regular SaltStick (fighting cramps), even better. One or two electrolyte capsules can make a big difference in a marathon, and keep your blood pressure from diving when you hit the wall. Saltstick Plus gives you that boost when you hit the wall with the added benefit of caffeine to help you absorb the capsule even faster with a boost of energy. It's a solid 1-2 punch that I'd reccomend for before, during, and after for all endurance athletes.
