Product Information:
TIMEX® GPS SENSOR :: Hey, we love technology as much as you do, but you may not want to buy a dozen gadgets to train for that next race. No Problem! Just get what you need with the Timex® GPS Sensor, a digital speed and distance sensor. It clips on to your waistband or your arm (with the handy strap) for a low profile that won't slow you down. But there's more:
  • Total Integration: It works with all Timex® Ironman Triathlon® and Bodylink® Speed + Distance System watches. You've probably got one already!
  • Loads of info: Distance, pace and speed in English, metric and nautical units (depending on your watch)
  • Ready-To-Go GPS Tracking: Forget calibrating, it's done and it's accurate too.
  • 13hour battery life: from just 1 AA battery - and it's included.
  • Splash resistance: So rain and slushy snow won't throw off your training.

I bought the timex gps and watch 4 months ago for my husbands bday. I use it 6 days a week but after 4mons it fell apart inside where the battery goes. I can't use it now and I really got addicted to it. I also noticed after two long runs in a row the third day my battier would die in the middle of a run. I started changing it to rechargable batteries every other run and if you run where there"s tress you can lose ur signal. Sometimes it picks it back up when you get into clear skys. I'm purchasing another one because I already own the watch and I go crazy not knowing my pace and distance. Just keep track of where you are incase you lose signal.

I had a Garmin but sent it back as it wouldn't easily pick up a satellite signal or would lose it if running under a tree. This device is great and durable.I haven't measured it at a track but some of my previously measured route mileage is very accurate with this device. instruction manual could be a little easier. I love knowing my pace but if the battery is running low it will seem to be erratic.

Unfortunately there is no mention that you have to have a watch to obtain data and RRS does not sell a watch that works with it. Disappointed, and will return (the Timex website was not much help either).

This is my second Timex GPS system and although I love using it, its durability is a questiion. I had a problem with the first one and RRS. did there part of getting me a new one. Now my second unit has fell apart on the inside where the battery goes. This is not a high wear and tear area and should last much longer! I am going to try Garmin and see if there quality control is better than the so called "Ironman" company!

I'm sure this is probably a great product, if RRS actually sold a watch it worked with. Very frustrating, had to return.

I bought mine in 2004/2005 and I love it. Its good to know that it works with the newer watches, but everythings still working like a champ and it tracks my pace, distance, time, laps...everything. Great Gadget!

I bought one of those for my husband (the model I got him also included the Timex watch w/the GPS armband) 4 Xmas the year B4 last(despite him thinking it was just another over-priced gadget he wdn't use)!! Let me say, again & again, it has been 1 of the best, most useful, favourite, & most used gifts I have EVER, EVER got my husband. He runs a lot, has been a serious runner for yrs - & let me just say personally (we run together quite often), it is so COOL 2 B able 2 know exactly how much exercise U have gotten, & how far (avg pace) U've gone. HE LUVS THIS GADGET(& so do I)!!! He also uses it whn he walks or bikes 2 work. He wears it whn we R travellng & out on walks & sightseeing 2 C how mch mileage we've coverd on R days' outing. We own svrl dogs that we walk daily, as well. It is so GR8 2 B able 2 know how far U've gone w/them. I dont know how ths product comparz 2 th Garmin GPS wristwatch, but I wd highly recommend this product, as a longtime user. Once u hav 1 U'll B hookd!
