            Own both Garmin 405, and this watch and the Timex is a great workout watch. It's much better in the water (rain, shower, swim, etc.) than Garmin. Also, buttons work better than the touch interface for the Garmin (which has problems when you're very cold, wearing long sleeves, sweaty, you know ... working out).

            The Timex UI for customizing the watch is overly complex. It was designed by engineers, not user-friendly. Why? Once you get it set-up to your liking, you'll never want to change it again, which may be what they intended.

            I am a Timex fan, but they should be embarrassed by the software for downloading data from the watch and the associated website. Both are nearly unusable to me, too complicated, not fun or intuitive at all. There's no excuse in 2011 to have a website and user software this bad. This is not a feature, but a detriment to the whole product. Had to use it again today to make room for more storage on the watch, and was reminded again how much I dislike using it. Garmin's Connect website is much, much better and easier to use.

            OK, it's bigger than the Garmin GPS, might be too big for a womens wrist.....but it's easy to use and versatile. Nice to have an alternative to Garmin out there, at one time Timex owned the GPS market....but word is they are building on this successful gps-in-a-watch, so more to come from them.

            Like the multi-data screen. Easy to use while running. Biggest con is that the watch face is VERY large, especially for a female runner. The positives of the watch still outway the cons for me and I continue to wear it on my long runs...even if it does feel like I am wearing a small computer on half of my arm.
