This is not a specific review for the recovery 2XU tights but overall for their running tight models (bought the Standard version, Elite and those recovery tights as well). I always used shorts to run, but with winter coming and my trademill "saturation", wanted to run outside. Meanwhile, was reading the marketing hype about the compression benefits and how that was helping supportting muscles and joints during the effort and after. So decided to give it a try. Although those are definitively not super warm (been running around freezing point), they were obviously a much better choice vs. running in shorts. But what really struck me was the fact that up until now, I could start feeling knee and hip pains after 10miles running and really struggled to complete semi-marathon distances, let alone fact I was really in pain days after the effort. Well, I believe I am not getting any younger, and since I have been wearing those, I can run semi marathon distances without any issue - pain. Wearing them after the event I also feel my muscles get back in shape quicker. I am usually "marketing hype" proof, but I have to admit this product seems to work, better than in my wildest dreams. As I wrote earlier, I bought all versions of compression tights (but the thermal one). I hardly see any support difference in between the std model and the Elite one, while the recovery one seems to hold everything a bit tigher indeed, probably required for better recovery, although I find myself also running in those without any issue. All in all, a great buy.
