Comments about Womens UK Gear XC-09 Trail Running Shoe:

These shoes are just what you'd expect: tough, durable and ready to work for you. Protective of my feet and keeping them dry-- this is important to me for this type of usage. That being said, they are NOT for road running, nor would I necessarily recommend them for trail running, as they are a bit stiff for that. Not sure if they would break in to the point of being good trail runners, but neither did I buy them for that. I have a pair of Pearl Izumi SynchroSeeks for that. These were designed for military application and I bought them for work, both indoors in a factory setting and outdoors in the woodlands. Great job thus far!

    I bought a 1st pair in '10 for general gym and cross-training use and have ended up using them for jogging, too. Supportive, stiff, and stable for my over-supination and plantar fascitis, lots of cushioning for aging joints while jogging. Enough room in the toe box to fit my custom orthotics (but order a 1/2 size larger to accomodate). While the achilles padding tore out pretty quickly, the rest of the shoe has stood up quite well, incl. sole. I bought a 2nd pair in '11 reserved just for jogging when the cushioning in the 1st pair was no longer adequate; now using the 1st pair for low-impact walking, etc.
