Women's VIBRAM FIVEFINGERS® KSO :: Your favorite barefoot runner is designed specifically for a woman's foot to give you total protection for any activity. Vibram®'s popular KSO or "Keep Stuff Out" model will do just that while keeping your feet safe and comfortable thanks to the thin abrasion-resistant stretch nylon and breathable mesh upper. Feet won't slip inside thanks to the simple hook-and-loop closure or out due to the razor-siped rubber outsole. Toss in the washing machine for easy cleaning, let air dry and you're ready to go!
Features & Benefits:
A thin abrasion resistant stretch nylon upper wraps your entire foot: Keeps debris out
Non marking 3.5MM Vibram TC1 rubber outsole: Razor siped for a sure grip
2MM EVA insole: Provides enhanced plating protection
I am a 27 year old female and I use the KSO to run at least 2-3 miles about 3 times a week on pavement. I decided to try them because I heard they were low impact on your knees and I was having trouble with knee pain. I was not a dedicated runner before these shoes because I always ended up with shin splints, knee pain, etc... After running in the KSO's for about a year I feel great. It takes quite a while to build up the proper muscles in your calves so be careful! There is a great study by Harvard on barefoot running that gives some good training advice - just google it. Anyway, I have no shin splints, no knee pain and I can run farther than I've been able to since high school. I love these shoes.

Awesome for some
Your feet will either LOVE them immediately or they are not for you. Great for days off after 12-16 hours on my feet in the hospital. FYI, the blue camo is actually a turquoise color NOT true blue. I use the KSO (keep stuff out) for running, the trek sport for hiking and everyday, and the Komodo for walking and cooler weather.
So glad I tried them!
I had not run in about two years and wanted to start back this year. I had heard so much about the fivefingers and finally decided to give them a try. Well, much to my surprise, I love them. It's like they were made for my feet. I never had one problem getting into them as my toes automatically spead and went almost right into each whole. The only concern is that they run a little short, however, I judged what size to get by one of the reviews I read, so they aren't bad. My next pair I will just get a size larger. All in all, they are perfect
Love the KSOs!
These are my first pair of Vibram Five Fingers and I love them! I haven't worn them for running yet because I love my Saucony Hurricanes, but if I know I'm going to do a lot of walking, these are my go-to shoes. They are so comfortable and really protect my feet. I've had them for 4 months and have gotten A LOT of use out of them. They do take a little time to get on. And they don't keep your feet warm in cooler weather. I won't wear these much in the MN winter, but they are staples for the other 3 seasons!
These shoes are great for working all the muscles in your feet. They need to be worked into gradually and so you will have to cut back on your original miles if you plan to run or walk in these shoes. Do this for at least the first couple weeks.
Also, measure both feet, since one foot may be 1/8 larger than the other. I made this mistake and had to return and get the next size up.
After the first week you will not want to wear any other shoe. They change your stride and running and walking feel more natural and easy after wearing these shoes.

Five Finger Shoes
I really love the way these shoes feel like you aren't wearing anything. You can run they way your body was meant to. They do take a lot of getting used to. You run completely differently than you would with regular running shoes. You will also need to drastically reduce your distance until you can build up your calf muscles. There isn't any cushioning but they way you run shouldn't require any.

Too small but not giving up just yet
I usually buy my running shoes a half size too big to avoid toe issues. The size I typically buy in regular runners is a 9.5, so that's the size I went with on the sizing chart for these. Following the sizing chart, I got a size 40. They are too short on the left and really gave me problems with my toes and heel. They easily feel to be a half to full size too small. Thankfully RRS has a great return/exchange policy and I can return them for something that fits better!
First problem I've had with FiveFingers
I have been wearing Vibram FiveFingers for 8 years and never had a problem with them. This pair however is different. After 2 weeks of daily wear I am still getting blisters in two places (I've never had issues transitioning to a new Vibram shoe before). The seams don't seem as smooth and getting them on is more difficult.
