I have the Ultra Pure version of this shoe, which just means that it doesn't have the neoprene insert. I love these shoes. I have tried a number of barefoot style shoes and these are a delight. In fact I had been trying unsuccessfully to transition to barefoot for about a year before I tried these and it finally stuck. For me, I think the key was the wide toe box that allows the foot to expand as it strikes the ground.
I've had them for 6 months and put a couple hundred miles on them including my 1st barefoot half marathon and they still look and feel really good.
They are super light. They squish down to nothing if you need to pack them (I travel a lot for work and regular shoes take up a lot of space in carry-on luggage).
My one complaint would be that traction can be a big problem on slick wet surfaces (e.g. wet polished floors or wet wood). Wet concrete and asphalt are fine. Don't even think about using these in icy conditions.
This is not a complaint, but a warning, these shoes provide a lot of feeling - if you strike down hard on a sharp rock it is going to hurt. So you need to pay attention to where you place your feet.
A true barefoot. Running shoe
A true barefoot. running shoe. When used as described in their websit, the shoe met all my expectations. I have them for one month now so I can not attest to wear.. Light fast and enjoyable.
use it for casual running medium distance - few miles.
Good for these runs without the insert.
The insert made the shoe smaller and was causing some discomfort.
