I live in Minnesota. If you want to run outside here in the winter, these are a necessity. Nothing works on pure ice, but these work great on snowy trails!

Live in Ontario, Canada - with snow and now 7 below 0 (-18celcius), these give excellent running traction, keep feet and shoes dry....excellent choice

I love these too, and have tried "ice grippers" and the like. Still rate them a "5" and have used them for years, but: a) based on earlier reviews, I called the company because of my rubber "x" breakage and steel coils unraveling, and hinted at a free replacement, but to no avail! ("90-day warranty", he said - I've had these for 2 winters); and b) even if they're brand new, if you hit a patch of ice you may be a goner anyway. Great to increase confidence running all winter long (Vermont), but icy danger still lurks, despite the power of the Yak...

Absolutely love them! Can't believe that I ever ran on ice/snow without them. Training for Boston just became dramatically easier. I wear a woman's 8.5 and the smalls fit perfectly. Never have any trouble with them coming off. One of the black x's did break on the bottom, but the company replaced them without any trouble. I ran 20 miles in them one morning and completely forgot that I even had them on. It sure does feel good to be out before the plows and show them where to go!

They have great traction ability and I do love them for that. I am on my third pair that have been replaced by the manufacturer due to the rubber "x" breaking and the steel coils unraveling. They have been great about replacing them-so I keep sending them back! Great concept, durability needs to be addressed.

I wear a size 13 regular width running shoe. So I bought these in a large, as per the manufacturer's directions. They were very hard to get on the shoes and they crimped up the front of the shoes so badly that they caused the front of the shoe to curl up and made the feeling in my forefoot very uncomfortable. I called up the manufacturer and they suggested that I buy the extra large. As RRS did not have an extra large, I bought them through another retailer. But the identical problem occurred. I tried them on with two other sets of my running shoes: same problem. I'm even concerned that they could ruin my shoes. They’re going back to the retailer ASAP.

Just got mine in the mail and took them out this morning. Awesome grip, and with the light snow cover I almost forgot I was wearing them. They are a little loud on crunchy ice, but the stability is amazing. Must have fow winter runners. I wish I had these back in Minnesota just to get to the bus.
