Varicose veins in one of my calfs. Did not know I had them really until at my annual checkup the doctor asked if they bothered me. Gad, that's what they are and come to think of it that explains the leg aches I was having the past year.

The doc suggested support hose. Heh, for old ladies and men I thought. Well not really, it turns out. And its a jungle out there for buying support socks. But, I discovered these socks marketed for athletes and for the past year, I basically wear nothing but them day in day out. The black passes easily with my business casual at work aside from working out with them for jogging, on the bike or at the fitness club.

I recently had laser surgery to remove the bothersome veins and the surgeon noticed these socks, checked them out and said "these are excellent."

They are thin but make a great liner sock for thicker ones when wearing hiking boots or mountaineering boots. They stand up pretty well to repeated washings and I rarely follow the directions. My first pair is well over a year old and just now getting me thinking of phasing them out.

These are very nice socks and you can really feel them compressing your legs. They're a little thick in the foot so I'm not sure I'd wear them while running as I prefer a thinner sock but it gives them a nice padding.

This product gives great support on long runs. also provides extra warmth in cold weather. I think they are most useful for recovery. They make your legs feel refreshed after hard workouts
