Comments about Womens Nike Free 4.0 Flyknit Running Shoe:

Hugs my foot so that there is no rocking of my feet due to excess space inside a shoe. I do not wear for everyday. I would recommend it for during a workout and then take them off.

Comments about Mens Nike Free 3.0 Flyknit Running Shoe:

I am 5'11", 192#, size 9.5 but I bought this in a 10 and it works just fine. I run almost daily, and do various workouts, not just long runs. My long runs of four miles, no more than one to two times per week. I love these shoes. I try to run in the Evolution or Pose style. I like these shoes because they are light, they fit like a glove, they don't slide around when my foot strikes, they give great support and they last awhile. I would say that I normally buy shoes every 3-6 months because they wear out (almost always Nikes). Now I think I can extend that a bit. I really like the heel and how the rounded form of it gives very natural support. I just hate the fact that it is made by Nike and they will think that something is wrong with this shoe, so they will come up with an upgrade/fix/remedy that will fix the wrong problem. I already bought a 4.0 and HATE it. These are great.

Comments about Womens Nike Free 3.0 Flyknit Running Shoe:

First off, no two pairs of feet are the same and what works great for me could be a disaster for you. These are not for folks who over-pronate badly and/or need a huge amount of support. But they are great for my 60-year-old, under-pronating feet that can develop metatarsalgia if the toe box is too narrow or there is too little cushioning. I run about 5 miles every other day, occasionally 10k and will also take 3-8+ mile walks, sometimes on running days. So more than casual, less than "Avid Athlete".

If I were transitioning from a standard somewhat stiff, large-drop running shoe, I would have thought I'd died and gone to heaven with these new 3.0's because I cannot run in stiff, large-drop running shoes; I develop all sorts of problems almost immediately. I have been doing all my running in Nike Hyperfeel running shoes and I love, love, LOVE those. They are not for everyone but they are the perfect running shoes for me. I do not like a lot of shoe under my foot, and neither my feet nor my shins can tolerate a stiff shoe with a lot of arch support and a huge heel.

I wanted to try the new 3.0's in order to run in something different now and then. They have the same 4mm drop and flyknit top as the Hyperfeel, and while the soles flex differently than the Hyperfeels, they are very flexible, which is important to me. The cushioning in the Hyperfeels is mainly in the insole while most of the cushioning in the 3.0's is in the sole itself. That difference make the 3.0's feel slow compared to the Hyperfeels, and in fact my pace is somewhat slower when I run in them. Compared to the Hyperfeels, they feel kind of squishy. I feel less connected to the road compared to the Hyperfeels which feel like…nothing…which is how I like my shoes to feel when I'm running--but not walking.

I find the new 3.0's to be particularly awesome for long, long, walks (the Hyperfeels are definitely not--they are strictly running shoes). The "squishiness" is an asset when walking long distances or walking and standing for long stretches. I would take these to Disney World. They are lightweight, breathable, flexible, with enough support to walk and wait in line all day and night, even after taking them for a run in the morning first.

I gave them 5 stars because they are extremely comfortable shoes that do exactly what Nike says they do. They are also roomier in the toe box than the Hyperfeels so for folks who found the Hyperfeels too tight in the toe box or too connected to the road, these should work better. The flyknit top feels like a sock, there are no seams or tongue to cause problems, the shoe stays in place, feet don't slide around, and the laces are just decoration.

The description suggests buying 1/2 size up and I agree with that. I don't know how durable they are, I've only had them a month. They appear to be durable, but only time will tell.
