Barefoot running shoes are designed to increase strength, speed, and reduce your risk of injuries while helping you achieve your optimal running stride. Advocates of barefoot running believe the "less is more" philosophy. The aim of barefoot running shoes is to mimic the experience of running shoeless, allowing your feet, ankles and legs to work the way they were naturally designed. In general barefoot running shoes have a flatter profile (lower heel-to-toe drop) encouraging you to land on your forefoot, dramatically decreasing the force of impact. This means better body alignment, a more efficient running stride, stronger feet and legs, and more fun runs!

These are the most minimal of the barefoot category, putting as little as possible between your foot and the ground. With a heel-to-toe drop of 4mm or less these shoes are the closest thing to running completely barefoot (but, WAY more comfortable).
