Comments about Garmin Forerunner 620 GPS with HRM Run Soft Strap Monitors:

I run 5 days a week i use it to train for half marathon and in 2 years hope to be able to run the Chicago marathon.I street run mostly i have tried to use it on the treadmill on bad weather days but if you constantly check the watch the accurace will be off as it uses the arm swing to gauge distance plus you need to shut off the gps in the settings to get any kind of good reading on the treadmill. Its an awesome watch many feature to help with your run efficentcy much better than the 610 forerunner trust me if you got the money plunck it down on the 620. I ordered it and got in about 3 days wow great watch great service 5 stars all the way around enough said add it to your cart all ready !!!!!!

Comments about Garmin Forerunner 220 GPS with HRM3 Soft Strap Monitors:

The fit, the size, and the functionality make the FR220 a perfect watch for casual wear as well as a tool for workouts. I've worn this watch daily for 3 months now and the large numbers and backlighting are perfect for everyday use.

As a GPS watch, it catches a satellite signal very quickly, within 1-2 minutes. My previous GPS watch, the Soleus 1, would take SEVERAL minutes to pick up a signal so it got to the point where if I didn't activate the Soleus before I got to the starting chute in a race, I wasn't sure if it would pick up in time. I don't have to worry about this with the FR220.

The data screens are customizable, and scrolling through them during a run is easy with the large up and down buttons on the left side. For my workouts, I have distance, average pace, and timer on screen 1; speed, current pace, and HR on screen 2; and screen 3 is just the current time.

I've also used the watch on an indoor track and it still picked up a GPS signal.

The included Garmin Connect software is necessary, though. While it generally works without having to sync, firmware updates will be necessary at times. On one training run, the watch failed to pick up any signal from the satellites at all and because it was set to auto-pause, it kept shutting off during the run. A firmware update when I got home resolved the issue.

Finally, it's durable enough to resist moisture from sprinklers and my 9 month old daughter chewing on the face and band.

Comments about Garmin Forerunner 220 GPS Monitors:

After years of using a durable but clunky Forerunner 305, its losing its signal and then running out of juice midway through a marathon convinced me it was time. I wish I hadn't waited. The 220 is small enough to wear as a watch (and, unlike the 305, can function like a normal watch), never has to search for satellites, vibrates on the mile to give splits, and effortless syncs via Bluetooth to my smartphone. It's got a fantastic price / value ratio. I'd recommend it to any runner who wants a well designed, easy to use, does-everything-you-need-it-to-but-isn't-weighed-down-by-bells-and-whistles watch.
