WHAT THEY REPLACE:

The new Saucony Ride ISO 2 replaces the Saucony Ride ISO

DON’T SLEEP ON THE SAUCONY RIDE ISO 2

Over the years I’ve run in several offerings from the Saucony Ride franchise (Before the ISOFIT revamp). I always liked running in the Ride, but whenever it was time to refresh my shoes there was always a competing option that was flashier, trendier or more gimmicky.

About 3 weeks ago around mile 5 in the new Saucony Ride ISO 2, I was in the zone, that runner’s happy place when one solitary thought rang through, “Don’t you ever sleep on the Saucony Ride again.”

There are many reasons the Saucony Ride ISO 2 is a Saucony bestseller, here are three:

Reason 1: HEEL GRAB & LOCKDOWN

There is A LOT of foam and padding around the heel and ankle – and that’s a good thing. This totally kept my heel planted. Some shoes use a more complicated system that only seems to bother or draw more attention to the heel/Achilles area. Saucony got it right here. Plus it makes for supreme step-in comfort.

There’s also a firmer heel counter surrounding the inside that helps keep my stride lined up. From the clean look (another win for this shoe) on the outside, you wouldn’t even know it was there.

Reason 2: EVERUN & POWERFOAM – A TRULY DYNAMIC DUO

If the heart of a car is the engine, then the heart of a running shoe is the cushion. Saucony steam-fused thousands of urethane beads together to create EVERUN cushion. This stuff generates lively performance, smooth landings, and stronger takeoffs. The EVERUN is placed in the topsole right under your foot, the PWRFOAM is where the rubber meets the road. Working together you get:

  • 83% more energy return
  • 3X longer-lasting
  • 2X more flexible to follow your foot in motion

Reason 3: ONE OF THE LIGHTEST IN CLASS

Compared to many shoes in the Saucony Ride ISO 2 segment (Ghost, Pegasus, Cumulus), the Ride is the lightest. So you’re getting a really light shoe considering the amount of cushioned protection underfoot.

Compared to last year’s Ride ISO, this year’s Ride ISO 2 has more flex, more cooling Jacquard mesh airflow and fits better with shortened eyelet bands.

If you’ve been sleeping on the Ride it’s time you checked it out. Great, great shoe.
