Hi, I am Michael Colt. I go to Nashoba Valleys Tech High School where I'm attending my 2nd year there. My subject I took up is electrical construction. I have work on raw wire full service units for homes and major buildings. I have learned to draw and read wire diagrams also I like to play sports from football to competitive swimming. You name it and I will try it. Also, I like hanging out with my friends like playing sports or playing video games. Each summer I go up to Maine to a fall summer camp that I have been going to for about 7 years. Last year was my first year on staff and this year will be my second year on staff. I do stuff like lacrosse, canoeing, rock climbing, soccer, basketball, and swimming. I love keeping up with my friends to the best of my abilities.

My name is Charlie and I am writing this to you on behalf of my son Michael Colt.

Michael is a sixteen-year-old boy who tries extremely hard to be a normal boy and do the things that other boys his age take for granted. When Michael was an infant he was given the polio vaccine, which turned out to be a live strain, and as a direct result, he became infected with the disease.

As a result, Michael is unable to walk without the use of special braces; Michael is braced from the left hip to his toe on the left side and from his knee to his toe on his right let.

I have learned of your foundation through the doctors at the Shriner's Hospital in Springfield, Ma. where Michael has been a patient since infancy.

Michael has spent some time at the Easter Seals camp in Raymond, ME; he has managed to get his level seven swimming ribbon. He tries very hard to do the things that children his age take for granted. One of the things that he cannot do is try to lean how to ride a bike because his legs are not strong enough.

He is not a couch potato, and a result I have had to make MANY trips across the state to get his prosthesis repaired. Just this past week I had to make two of them to get them fixed.

Thank you for taking an interest in Mike's case.
