At first these shoes felt great, but after putting in some serious miles (run 40+ miles per week)I started to develop plantar fasciitis on my left foot. I've never had problems with Asics before until I tried the newer model.
I bought these shoes in mid December I was only running between 3 and 4 miles a day they were fine But I ran 8 and I cant walk. The outsides of both feet are killing me! Even the slightest touch hurts. Love Asics HATE these!i will go back to my kayanos!
45 minutes into my run I experienced incredible pain on the ball of both feet where the toes connect. Not happy....
From the first day I put a new pair on -they are comfortable! I occasionally will try a different style Asics, but always, always come back to the GT-2130.
I echo some of the earlier reviews. Loved these at first, but over a few months the cushioning disappeared and they now ache on the ball of my foot and in calves after a run. I have had other successes with Asics, jut not this brand.
These shoes are super comfortable and do not blister or rub, even when they are being worn for the first time. I've run on my pair for about 6 months (almost every day) and have no problems with them at all other friends on my track team with these shoes have had not problems either. Definitely recommend them!
They were ok for short runs, I've been an Asics fan for about five years now, after running a marathon in these, you lost me. My heels started killing me (never been an issue before), and continued to hurt almost a year later.
I think this shoe is great. I run outside in the middle of the winter and it gives a lot of stability. Very glad I purchased it.
I have a lot of foot problems, and these shoes are great (especially when I put my orthotics in them). I have every color, love them.
These were my first pair of Asics and will probably be my last. Running more than 2 miles in them gives me terrible blisters on the arches of my feet. These shoes are definitely not for me!
I bought this shoe for cross country training. At first, I loved it. It feels great when you wear it at first. It is light, and has a great fit. After a few runs, the cushioning gets worse and worse. I developed many problems because of lack of support, also. The cushioning is not fabuluos, either. I am now, after wearing this shoe, suffering from planters faschitis/achilles tendonitis. Although, my physical therapist credits some of this to the fact that I'm still growing. With a more supportive and cushioned shoe, these problems have gotten better. I would not recommend this shoe to people who need alot of support, and generally run on the road versus trail or track. They do provide plenty of room for orthodics, though. I would recommend to runners with a light build who run moderate mileage. Good stability. I had mixed feelings about this shoe.
I've been running in Asics for 5 years and each year I complain that they change the shoe, but each year I get the new model and all is fine....until the 2130s. I got these shoes early on in my Boston training and they sidelined me for almost a month because my feet were in so much pain!!! I had major arch issues in my right foot every time I ran in them. The medial ankle bone on my left foot as well as my heel bone on my left foot became very sore and tender to the touch. I could not even put a shoe on my foot...all because of these awful 2130s. I was happy to find that they brought back the 2110s and snatched up a few pairs and all those pains went away instantly and I was able to get my Boston training back on track.
I love these shoes. They're extremely comfortable and great overall - just one suggestion. If you have low arches,I recommend you buy arch supports or special inserts with more support in the arch. After running long distances daily, I developed posterior shin splints from lack of arch support. Otherwise, these shoes are great!
This shoe has great cushion in the heel. However, I sent it back before it even hit 5 miles. The shoe "slaps" the ground with the forefoot. It is not a smooth transition from heel to forefoot. Out at 6am on a back country road and you could even hear it! My feet ached after 1 mile and I gave up just after only 4. I've ran thousands of miles in a whole lot of shoes and never felt this in any other shoe. I have never had pain in my feet so IMO these are not that great.
I love these shoes! I wore out my 2110's, which I also loved, and was unable to replace since, although they brought them back, they didn't offer narrow width and I wear a 2A. I just got them a couple weeks ago, but they stand to make my feet as happy as the 2110's.
I bought these shoes after having problems with another type of running shoe. I have custom orthotics. I am unable to run in these shoes w/my orthotics due to blisters on the arch of my feet. However, I love these shoes with no orthotics. Plenty of toe room and support. So far...no pain when running w/o orthotics. Ran 13 miles in Asics and they peformed like magic. No blisters or pain.
Very little cushioning. OK for easy runs but these shoes are horrible for speed work. The arches and balls of my feet ache after track intervals.
Have always run in this line from Asics and had no problems. However, the sole inserts do not stay in place, but ride back on these, leaving no cushioning under the ends of my toes.
I have worn this Asics line for 10 years and loved them - until this model....there is almost a rocker on the bottom which results in a feeling of a very thin sole at the toes and causes a lot of force transfer to the arch and midfoot - very painful and disappointing - I think I'll order up the 2110s while they last!
I never had an issue with Mortons Neuroma until I started wearing these. I didnt think too much of it until I read another reviewers comments. Be careful. Other than that no complaints.
Love this shoe b/c it comes in widths and fits a very narrow foot well; however, there is NO cushioning in it. My feet are burning by mile 5!.
I have been wearing Asics for years and have never had problems. I bought these shoes a couple of months ago and have noticed that if I run more than 3 miles the inside of my knees are extremely painful when I finish running. It's the first Asics I have ever bought that cause this problem.
No cushioning onball of foot. I always wore kayano gel they were heaven. Where is the gel in the ball of foot?????
I'm surprised about all the notes about no cushioning... I just bought these yesterday and found them to be like walking on air! Ran 5 miles today at a higher speed than usual (treadmill) and was amazed at how energized my legs and feet felt during the whole run compared to my old shoes - it was great! I can't comment on the outside running, but for treadmill I found them to be excellent. Will have to see how they hold up over time but very happy so far!
The insole of my left shoe started to come loose and bothers me while running now but even worse, after mile 8 me feet and knees start to hurt. Had to switch to a different shoe after only 60 days running. I do not recommend this shoe at all...
I bought this as a replacement for the 2120, that I have worn for a couple of years with no problems. The 2130 has not been so great! I have perpetual blisters on the inside of my heals and another on the inside of my left foot. I will be returning them. I am thankful for the 60 day guarantee! Why do companies stop making shoes that work?
I really like these shoes. I couldn't wear the 2120's. They hurt the side of my forefoot. I was a loyal fan of 2110's which I can't find in wide. The 2130's are very nice and I have not had any forefoot problems. They are easy to break in and the cushioning and stability are excellent. I may even like them better than the 2110's.
I absolutely love those shoes, I run 7 miles and more every day and my feet feel great. I used to have problems with my shin splints but not anymore with asics 2130. The cushioning is really great, very comfortable shoes!!!!!!!!!!
The most comfortable pair of running shoes I have ever owned. I have always been a Nike fan but, sorry....these are now my favorite.
I have been wearing ASICS for years without a problem but I have to say that I HATE this model. I have now had two pair and the insoles on both were too small and slipped up the back so that when I run (20-30 miles a week) my toes hang over. I don't think I should have to buy new insoles for an additional 10-20 bucks to have a pair of shoes that work. I have two friends that have my past experience with ASICS and they hated these too... I would buy a different model.
