If you liked the original Guide...

While I usually do not review shoes because everyone is different and I'm not sure how beneficial the reviews are, I just wanted to let those that liked the original Saucony ProGrid Guide to know that this shoe is the next best thing. I wore several pairs of Guides and loved them, only to be disappointed with the Guide 2. The Omni 8's are very similar to the original Guide, with exception that the Guide provided me with more arch support (which I prefer), but the Omni's provide better pronation correction than the Guide 1. I am 5'5" tall, 140 lbs and a mild underpronator that runs on pavement 30-55 miles per week with a 16 mile run maximum for training. I have been able to get 500 miles out of this shoe.

i've gotten well over 400 miles out of my first pair and logging the first 50 on my new pair...too bad they are endangered, b/c these shoes are excellent. i'm considering ordering another pair just to have for down the road. i'm running about 30 miles a week. i ordered a half size bigger than i normally wear. i find the saucony brand to be the most consistent shoe out there. their shoes offer the best cushion for my running style.

On my Third Pair

5

Really like this shoe. I am on my third pair and I keep coming back to it. Currently jog/walk 20-25 miles per week. This shoe fits good and breaths well. It does seem to wear rather quickly, however my 200 pounds probably does not help. When this pair wears out I will buy another as long as they do not go away.

Great shoes! These need to be purchased!

5

I have used these shoes for over a year now.. Prior to buying these shoes I tried on around 5 other shoes and none compared to the comfort of these. Having used these now for over a year I have bought my second and third pair of shoes. I highly recommend these to any runner!

Outstanding Shoe

5

An outstanding shoe that provides great probation control. also durable as I run around 20 miles per week and the shoe is still providing solid support with around 350 miles on the pair. I highly recommend this shoe.

Light Weight & Great Performance

5

This is the first pair of running shoes for me that I haven't had to break in. No Blisters, Cushony, and light weight. I've had them about 3 weeks, and feel great on my 6 mile runs. (I run about 20 miles plus per week).

Great shoe for larger runner

5

I'm a big guy (6 feet, 260 lbs.) and this is the best shoe I've found. Its lightweight but with ample cushioning to support my weight. I run about 16-20 miles a week and they're great. This is my third pair.

Great combo of Stability and Lightweight

4

Has good stability for pronated runner. I used many different running shoes and these are the best. I ran a few half-marathons in them and they offer support for my feet, without feeling too heavy.

Comfortable stability shoes

5

I have tried several stability shoes and these are the best in their price range. They are very cushioned, light weight, breathe well, and provide me with the stability I need.

Right by me

5

I've use this model (OMNI) over 5 years and this is the latest model. Each year I buy 3-4 pairs. I run 1000-1300 miles per year. Product has never had a defect, size is consistent each year.

Another outstanding Saucony Shoe

5

I've been using these shoes on my regular 5 mile runs and they are outstanding. Enough cushioning to run on asphalt without wearing out your legs but light enough to do pace runs in.

similar shoe recommendations?

4

I've been training in this model for 2 years, but now that it's extinct does anyone have any recommendations for a similar model (Saucony or otherwise)? Thanks in advance.

Sweet Ride!

5

Exceptional shoe all around. Cushion, support, transition all excellent. I have a lower type arch but can't run in the MC shoes, so opt for Stabilty and these are perfect.

5

Have been using the ProGrid Omni series for some time now and have to say the Omni 8 is the best yet. I am 5'8", weigh 176lbs with a low BMI, and a slight overpronation. 15-20 m per week at moderate pace. This shoe provides excellent stability & cushion in a lightweight shoe.

No more blisters

The Omni 8 works well for me. It has the right amount of pronation control, and is comfortable for longer runs. Finally solved my blister problems!

5

I switched to these after several years in the Adrenaline EE width, which had become too wide for my liking. I am a moderate overpronator and put Superfeet Blue in all my shoes. Compared to the Adrenaline, the Omni's seem to have better cushioning with about the same lateral support and weight. These run wide. The 12.5D width is comparable to Adrenaline EE.

This is a great ride. I weigh 145lbs, pronate mildly, and put in 30-40 mi/wk. I've been wearing stability shoes like GT2140, and this one has just as great a ride, nice and springy. The upper is plush and comfy. I'm just going to gripe a bit about the glitters they used in the reflective upper. Okay fine, it's supposed to supplement the scotchlite for safety.

Outstanding shoe. Great combination of stability and cushioning, I have FLAT feet but motion control shoes have all caused pain somewhere. This shoe is the best I've used for the past twenty years. Hope they don't make any changes. Only complaint is not the prettiest shoe I've seen but who cares it works.

Provides a very sturdy ride without sacrificing cushioning. I found them to be a little tight when I put them on right out of the box but I've put around 100 miles on them and they've been great. Also, ya what's with the glitter?
