My previous shoe was the ride 8 and I LOVED that shoe, currently hold all my PRs in that shoe. When the ride 9 came out, I was excited to try them. My first run in them felt really off, did not feel anything like the ride 8, very stiff and narrow. I thought it was me, maybe I changed the way I ran after taking some time off. Thought they needed to be broken in. I ran in these for about a month, started getting a pain on the ball of my foot. Now I am out for a few weeks with metatarsalgia (feels like you're running on bare bone or with a rock in your shoe), missing the first weeks of boston marathon training :(. I returned these shoes and the employee said that they have been getting a lot of the same complaints on these shoes, and they informed me that for some reason, Saucony made the top of the shoelaces/toebox more narrow, which explains my metatarsalgia, my toes were getting pinched. Don't get me wrong, this shoe probably works well for others but it did not work well for me at all and now I'm injured. Trust your instinct, if you don't feel right in a shoe during the first few runs, take advantage of the 90day exchange policy! I wish Saucony didn't change the dimensions of the toebox/laces, pretty upset about it :(

Saucony STIFF Ride!
What a disappointment from Saucony. I was so excited when they arrived, as the color schemes are very cool and appealing. I wore these on every run for two weeks, about 70 miles total. My biggest complaint is the stiffness all around. There is no flexibility and my foot were not able to properly bend, much like a Brooks Adrenaline (best stability shoe if you need that level of stiffness). As a neutral runner, I found this shoe both awkward and annoying. It was difficult to enjoy my runs due to the stiffness, and the fact that there was no real sense of cushioning and I could feel the ground beneath me. This was surprising considering the technology this shoe offered that previous models haven't. I attempted a 15 mile long run and could feel a huge hindrance - the height of the toe box was far too short and destroyed my toes, specifically my big toe nails. That was my last run in them! I sent them back to RoadRunnerSports yesterday to use my 90day test run option. So dissapointed.
Bought to use for Chicago Marathon
The last pair of Saucony Rides I owed were 5's. I bought these after they changed my Adidas Ultra Boosts and the new version does not work for what I need. I loved the colors and the cushion. I have now put about 50 miles on them. They seem to be holding up well. The biggest complaint I have is they feel cheap compared to older version. They do not cradle your foot like the structure they had before. The first time I put them on I could feel the stitching on the top of the shoe where the tongue ends near the toes. It's like they did not trim or stitch the end and I can feel it. It does not cause problems while running, but it's annoying when I first put them on. Disappointed at the lack of detail.
Cushiony, great for marathon training
I normally use the Saucony Triumph ISO's for long runs but wanted something a little lighter. This shoe has the feel of the Triumph ISO's, a much bouncier feel than the Rides from a couple years ago. I wore them for a couple training runs, loved them and wore them for a recent marathon. They are true to size for running shoes, I size up a full size for marathon training shoes since I wear them in the heat of summer.
Unfortunately after 5 years of wearing the Saucony Ride, the 9s were so terrible that I only wore them for about 3 seconds. I certainly couldn't run in them. Though the length is consistent with the 8s, the toe box is severely diminished. This loss of volume pushes me out of the shoe as they will not be acceptable for the high mileage running that I am doing (50-60 miles/week).
Way too narrow
I have purchased many Rides in the past and been very pleased with them. Even though I bought the wide, it was still far too narrow. The shoe pinches the sides of my feet and makes my toes eventually feel numb, especially if the run is of any decent length. Skip the Ride 9. On the bright side, the one option for a wide shoe is actually really cute, unlike previous versions.
I would buy the Ride 9 again definitely.
I have always bought New Balance running shoes but thought that I would try something different this time. My daughter has always used Saucony Ride so I selected these. I have used them twice now and really like them. When I first tried them on, I thought that maybe they were not going to be roomy enough in the toe box (I also wear orthotics and wide widths.) After running in them I found that this was not a problem. They were snugger than most of the New Balance shoes I have worn but it felt different, not in a bad way. I liked the amount of cushioning in the heel and toe and the fit in the heel.
We enjoy the Saucony Ride. My dissappointments have been more with delivery of shoes which has slowed. We also needed to exchange a pair for my daughter and it wa not explained to me how tedious this process was. I have tried to call many times only to get no answer. RoadRunner has been my favorite place to buy until my last 2-3 orders. There products and price are still great but service has changed. I hope it goes back to excellence.
Sizes change with colors
I loved the pair of Ride 9s I bought in July. Now it is December and after wearing that pair through an entire cycle of marathon training, I bought a second pair in the same size, but in the blue/purple color instead of pink/black. They didn't fit at all! Much too short. Either the black ones are defectively long or the blue ones are defectively short I guess.
The shoes are comfortable, still true to size, and seem to dry very fast. I use these for road running, once in a while on a trail when my feet need the cushioning and I don't need grip. They feel very light weight. I settled on this show when I wanted to try a Triumph and couldn't find it in my size. Great Value!
These are my favorite shoes
I walk 3 miles a day every morning. I buy a pair of these shoes every six months. I've tried other shoes which give me foot cramps. These do not. I take my old pairs and use them as my dog agility shoes which I use twice a week. Add the custom sole and you have a shoe that lasts me at least a year.
I would order a size up next time.
Unfortunately I had to return this shoe because it was too short. I have always ordered a size 11 and have never had a problem before. In fact, I purchased a Ride 10 at the same time, and the fit was perfect! If you order this shoe, definitely size up at least a 1/2 maybe a whole size.
More Narrow than Previous Ride
Don't know what Saucony did, but the width is TOTALLY different on this shoe that previous Ride versions. My feet were jacked up with these. I've been running in Ride versions for years, and this one was much more narrow than all of the rest. Beware.
My go-to shoe from 5K's to marathons
Been wearing the Saucony Ride series for a couple of years, and unlike other brands where the fit / feel of the shoe changes with the change in model, I find the Ride models feel and fit consistent through the different iterations
Great show-cushioning on city sidewalks and streets
Love my Mizuno Waves but not enough cushioning for my older and overweight body!
Disappointed compared to previous Ride shoes.
The shoes are ok but not as great as the older Ride styles. They do provide support, but shoes does not seem to breath as easy. Toe area feels more restricted and it rubs on the side and top of my big toe.
Love the Ride 9 so far
I've been in these shoes for years and I really like the ride 9 version.

My new favorite shoe
This is my new favorite shoe! I needed a shoe with more cushion, but without the bulk on my long runs and this shoe definitely fits that criteria. True to size and comfortable.
Meh just okay
Lot's of heel slip. I have been getting blisters on little toes
Go wide to avoid pain
Finally a solid women's shoe with a wide width - it makes all the difference! Normal width will rub the side of my feet causing aggravation to my bunions.
I will continue to buy these shoes.
I like the ride 9 shoes but they do not fit as well as the ride 10 shoes. They are still comfortable, though.I will definetly buy them again.
Extra material on the inside tongue
The extra material of the tongue rubs the top of the foot and toes on the right foot. Not sure if it is a new design or a faulty production.
I have bought this shoe more than once.
This Saucony Ride 9 is my second pair. They fit me just right. I jog weekly and I find this shoe to be durable and comfortable.
Love my Saucony shoes
I have worn Saucony shoes for about 40 years. Yes, it's true. They are durable and provide the support and cushion needed.
For some reason this pair was too short. I bought another pair bc I love these shoes and they fit!!!
Love the shoe great fit and look. But I keep getting a hole where my big toe hits the top.
I would certainly purchase these again!
Very comfortable, very light. Purchased these for a trip abroad and was very satisfied.
I would buy this again
Wonderful shoes! They fit great and are so comfortable. I always stick with this model!
Better than expected
Incredible! Better fit and more comfortable than expected. Just like running on air.
