I purchased the Zeal for the purpose of running obstacle course races. I've only run the Rugged Maniac so far but they performed upto my expectations. They felt great on my feet right out of the box.(I ran in them 3 times before the race). They provided excellent traction in the mud and on the obstacles that required climbing, especially the warped wall. The shoes were sturdy and provided protection to the sides of my feet as well as the bottoms. I believe the only perceived negative to the shoes is that they are not the best at draining and do pick up a little debris inside. Outside they stay mostly debris free. I knew this ahead of my purchase from reading many reviews. And just like the reviews stated, the amount of water weight and small amount of debris did not hinder my performance in any noticeable manner. I only mention this as a negative because I'm not sure there is a perfect shoe for every obstacle situation but so far these are it for me. I have no plans of trying any other shoes anytime soon.
