Like most women, I have narrower heels than men and higher arches. It is unfortunate that Asics seems to be designing women's shoes to fit men. I have had to alter the lacing on these shoes to make them wearable. I would switch to something else, but so far I haven't found anything better. I am used to lacing my running shoes to prevent heel slippage as my heels are extremely narrow, but I have had to do some creative lacing with the Nimbus 19 and 20 to prevent painful pressure on the top of my foot. Like a lot of runners with high arches, I need plenty of midfoot cushioning to help absorb shock. In the past the Nimbus was perfect for this. The last two models, however are so narrow across the midfoot that they cause a hotspot on the top. I could feel a small lump forming, so I rerouted the laces to avoid more pressure on that spot. Fortunately, this has alleviated the problem, but there is no reason why people with normal width feet should have to make these accommodations. These shoes will work for some runners. They have a good amount of cushion and they are relatively lightweight for their purpose. I imagine those with lower arches might be okay with the fit, just make sure you order them in a large enough size! Also, the dark blue color is very nice!
Sending them back
I've been with the Nimbus for quite a few years, but this might be our last year together. I felt the shoe was stiffer than the previous model. I do not use these shoes for only running. I am a fitness instructor that uses them for Body Attack (high intensity/plyo/lateral work) and Body Combat (kickboxing). They slid all over the gym floor. In conclusion, I need a shoe that can work in and out of the gym and cross trainers just don't hold up well under the training I do. I'm hoping this is just a hiccup in the Nimbus design, but I alternate those with Kayanos, so fingers crossed:)
Not the sneaker for me
I bought this sneaker as I loved the Nimbus 18. Unfortunately when I slipped it on, I felt like I was standing on the bare floor. Not cushioned like the nimbus 18. I wear orthotics and I still did not have enough cushion. The sneaker even after a month of trying to break it in, hurt my feet. They felt too tight even though I loosened the sneaker up as much as I could. My toes were cramped and started getting calluses from being crowded. Couldn't walk in them never mind trying to run in them.
The back of the Nimbus 20 is lower on the ankle than previous Nimbus shoes. I've worn Nimbus for years, all the numbers 11-13 etc. I was excited to see the new Nimbus and ordered it. Once I tried it on the heel / ankle part of the shoe did not come up as far as the others I've had and rested low on the back of my ankle. I'm sure the shoe itself is of the same great quality, and comfort but I didn't like this. It felt like I was going to step out of the shoe.
Probably An Ex Nimbus User
I've been a Nimbus fan for years and started wearing them because of the feel and cushioning. While Nimbus 20 is better than the Nimbus 19, it's not the shoe I was a fan of. It's too hard and stiff and I don't know how it's listed as a cushion level 5 shoe. The shoe was uncomfortable to walk in so I never ran in them. I returned them and found a pair of 18's online. Asics fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame of me. Not sure I will try them again.

I have worn Nimbus for years... probably have had at least 4 pair, the last I had were the Nimbus 18. What is going on with the shoe companies? They keep changing the shoes to where they are not at all like they once were. I bought the 20s thinking they would offer the great cushioning I had come to expect. They seemed firmer, but it was a very cold day and I thought the temps made the midsole stiffer. But no... I have run in them 3 times and am very unhappy. I even tried one of my 18s on one foot and 20s on the other and walked around. The 18 was cushier, even though I probably had 400 miles on them!

Great New Shoe
Love the new Nimbus 20's More cushioning and wider toe box (size up a 1/2 size)
So comfortable but as with most running shoes... a few runs and they will fee that much better
on your feet.. I do wear a sock that is thinner.
Wish it had more cushion in front
I bought these in a size 8.5 B which is a half size up from my usual size 8. I fast walk about 25 miles a week or more and these felt just ok overall but in the front of the foot it felt like it was lacking cushion, compared to the back. I also developed shin splints while walking a little more on vacation. Since I walk a lot routinely, I'm not sure why I would get shin splints other than walking in these new shoes. I just returned them for a pair of Brooks Glycerin 15 running shoes.

Why does Asics have to change the Nimbus every time?
I am agreeing with other complaints that Nimbus 20 is much less cushioned than the 18. The soles look the same, but the 20's are definitely harder to run in. In fact, as a midfoot/forefoot runner, those parts of my feet became numb after just 3 miles into my run today, which has never happened before.
I bought two pairs & both are going back. I am wondering if Asics is trying to make us buy the more expensive Quantum, which would be disingenuous.
none of your beeswax
Just a pretty face but terroble under the hood
I'm repeating what I said here because I bought the Nimbus in this pretty pink & the grey.
The Nimbus 20 is terrible, whatever the color. Much less cushioning. Does not deserve the level "5" designation. The bottoms of my feet, forefeet, went numb during a 3-mile run. Sooo inferior to the Nimbus 18, which are sadly no longer available in my size anywhere.
I will try the 19's & may have to change brands for now.
None of your beeswax
Not the same as the other Gel Nimbus!
I've worn every Gel Nimbus running shoe since the 17th version and these sadly don't fit the same. They run so big in the front of the shoe and even with my orthotics they are so uncomfortable. I keep giving them a chance and wearing them again hoping they will get better but they won't, I guess I will have to return these. Only giving 2 stars because they look so cute!
No cushion compared to Gel Nimbus 16,17,18
Have had Gel Nimbus 16, 17, 18 & loved them. Skipped the 19 because it got such poor reviews on the fit.
I need a D width narrower heel & wide toe box. Bought the Gel Nimbus 20. The fit is okay but the cushion is basically gone. Why would you get rid of cushion? Now I don't know which direction to go. Remember the old saying "If its not broke don't fix it"
This is the new replacement for the Nimbus 19 which in my opinion was
was too narrow in the toe box
This has great cushioning and a wider toe box so it is improved
Gel 20 improvement
Thank goodness the nimbus 20 are wider and more comfortable than the 19. They fit like the 18 and I don't have to wear extremely thin socks and loosen the laces as much as possible.
My Favorite Asics
Finally Asics came thru. I've been waiting for years. Love the Gel-Nimbus 20. Feels great right out of the Box.
Retired marathon runner
Disappointed that it runs a half size small.
