For the win!

I bought this as my marathon shoe for Mountains 2 Beach in May. I listened to the reviews and went a half size up to a 12.5, but after a few runs, I realized I was lugging around too much shoe. So I returned them and got my normal 12's and they fit great. Granted, I have a narrow foot anyways, so if you have wide or larger/thick feet, the half size up may be for you. The uppers on these shoes are a little rough fabric on the toes and some sharp edges where the lace eyelets are. I only mention this because the rough fabric ate through some brand new Drymax socks in those few runs. I'm attriubuting that to the shoe being too big on my foot at the time. Hopefully the true-to-fit size will prevent such quick sock damage. The shiny parts of the upper were scuffed on the inside after a few runs--that could be in part to the Continental rubber on the shoe edge rubbing aginst the shoe mid-stride. I love the Boost material, and feel they do provide great cushion--something to be appreciated after mile 17. I got the Red Ink color, and think they're loud and proud. These baby's are going to carry me to my first sub-3 and second BQ. Having run my last marathon in Nike Free 3.0's, I'm looking forward to having a little more spring in my step for the final miles.

Risky, but good update

6'1" 175 lbs, 1:23 half, 2:58 full. I have gone through 5-6 pairs of the Adios 2 as my training show and have raced in them in marathons, but use the Nike Flyknit Racer for halves. I have also run in the Nike Zoom Streaks and many pairs of Lunaracers (size 11). I now have about 80 miles in the Adios Boost. This shoe is the love child of the Adios 2 and the Nike Zoom Streak. It is not quite as stable as the very stable Adios 2, but much bouncier in the heal and feels a lot like the Nike Air. The upper is not noticeable and a bit larger in every dimension than the Adios 2. With mid-weight socks they fit great. If I were racing in them with thin socks, I might try a half size smaller--where I would never do this with the Adios 2. It's risky to change the shoe that has set the last four marathon world records, but they may have a good one here. I will probably still use the flyknit for half marathons, but the Adios Boost is a great training shoe for me and will likely be my next marathon shoe. It is somewhat minimal and I would not recommend it for strong heal strikers or inexperienced runners. I would guess it is more resilient for larger runners that the Adios 2.

Cushioned,yet responsive trainer

I am 5'10", 160 lbs, 1:26 half marathon, 3:01 marathon runner. I bought this shoe for a marathon (and half) racer (and some tempo/speed workouts). I've done a few workouts and a half marathon in this shoe (~50 miles). This shoe feels like it has good cushioning while still having the responsive feel of a racing flat. The grip and ride are great. I definitely think there is something "good" about the new Boost midsole that feels different (in a good way) from the traditional midsole material. These shoes are also a bit (~1 oz.) heavier than the racers I've used, but I think they feel comparablein speed and better-cushioned than other racers I've used (e.g., Brooks Green Silence, Asics Tarther), so I'll definitely race my marathon in these. I normally wear size 10.5 in running shoes. I bought an 11 in these. Feel a bit big, but it hasn't been a problem. I think you could get your regular size or 1/2 big if you don't mind a little more toe-room). The little rubber nubs/circles on the sole appear to be wearing out quickly, so I will refrain from doing too many training miles in these (especially given the cost)- maybe one workout a week and then bust them out for the races.

Low and fast

Extremely lightweight. Substantial offset makes them feel like a racing flat. Much softer than the Adios 2, but not much cushioning under the forefoot. Fit is maybe a tough bigger than the Adios 2.

Outstanding shoe

Great, fast feeling with full cushioning for a less then 8oz shoe. I 'm 195lbs run on pavement (sidewalk and street).

adidas continues to improve

Fastest boost shoe yet. Big improvement in sole rubber. I have flat feet -the boost material does help.

Juneau runner

Great shoes use them on daily running workout - training/speed. Unless one is really heavy - prob over 200lb, these shoe are great for both training, and racing.

Very fast and responsive

Great for any type of speed work and racing. Only experienced marathon runners that don't require much cushioning should use them for marathons.
