The Adidas Power Tubes have the overall safest design that I have been able to find anywhere. Typical tubes have several failure points: Handles, the clips that attach tube to handle, the fitting on the end of the tube, and of course the tube itself. Adidas Power Tubes minimize or eliminate all of these failure points through the combination of a fabric sheath and a simple, sturdy handle and tube attachment design. The fabric sheath practically eliminates the risk associated with a failure of the tube or tube-ending: If either of these fail, the sheath contains the tube and absorbs the associated shock/force. The handles have no clips to fail, and all materials and attachment points can be easily inspected. The three resistance levels offered by Adidas provide a very full range of resistance for me, although I would prefer a little more variety throughout the range, as is offered by some other brands. But none of the other brands offer the degree of safety that the Adidas Power Tubes offer. The recent, well-publicized injuries sustained by Sen. Harry Reid while exercising with resistance tubes should suffice for warning to all. Tubes are great for convenience, portability, and flexibility, but they also make great flying weapons if not used safely.
