Tried a pair and this is now my 2nd

5

I have been running the the Saucony Pro Grid Kinvaras since I first got into running about 2 years ago. Up until the recent release of the 4 they were my favorite shoe, hands down. With the release of the 4 they made the heel come up higher than previous models which caused me to get blisters. I thought it would past but ended up not being able to deal with it any more. Previously I had tried the Gel-Lyte 33 1 and knew from putting them on in the store they were not for me. When I returned the Kinvara 4's I was hesitant when the sales person brought these out. Once I tried them on I loved the way they felt, fit like a glove!! First run in them and I was 100% sold. They fit great and are super comfortable with enough cushioning for longer runs but light enough for short runs. Have not done any races in them yet but will be doing a few shortly. This was my second pair of these I purchased, I loved the first pair so much I ordered this pair so I could alternate between the two. I highly recommend these for anyone who likes a lightweight shoe that still has enough padding for the long runs, have several high teens runs done in these and never get fatigue in my feet.

Best shoe I've had in the last 30 years

5

For the last two years, I have been recovering from an Achilles problem. I was looking for a light weight, but supportive running shoe. In the March 2013 Runners World, there was a decision tree that was suppose to lead us to the best shoes for our specific situation. One of the shoes recommended for me was the Asics Gel Light 33. I had to wait three weeks for it to arrive at Road Runners Sport, but the wait was well worth it. This is the most comfortable lightweight shoe that I have worn since I wore out a pair of Adidas racing shoes in 1986. I have very high arches, so having good support is very important got me. These Asics Gel Light 33's are the perfect shoe for me. I am making my comeback after two years of injuries and these shoes will be a key part of my getting back to racing.

Perfect for Barefooters w/ BOFP

5

This is my go-to shoe for when my feet are a bit achy from running in my barefoot style shoes (I usually run in Vibrams and/or NB Minimus 1010MT). Sometimes after several days/weeks running in no-cushion shoes, my feet want a vacation from impacts. Pulling out the Lyte-33 is like running on clouds, but without the intrusive nature of normal running shoes. This shoe allows me to run as I naturally do, without interfering with my stride. I'd highly recommend this to minimalists who know what they like and don't want medial posts or EVA messing up their stride or strike mechanics. As a lightweight and low structure shoe, I assume they might wear out pretty quick, but this does not pose a problem for me because as a barefooter, I will continue to use them after the midsole compresses down.

Shoes have plusses and minuses

3

I wore these shoes for 5 runs and a 5k race. The material the shoe is made of feels good and they are very flexible and breathable. The shoes move with my feet and that is definitely a plus. I did develop various aches and pains however mostly on the bottom of my feet. The Gel Lyte33's are cushioned mostly in the midfoot area it seems but they don't have as much cushion as the Brooks Pureflow 2 that I've been running in. Also, for the first time I had a toenail on my right foot bruise and now on it's way to black. I've been running a long time and this is the first time it happened to me. Also, the left shoe seems to want to rub the top of my foot near my big toe. I'll continue to run in them and switch back and forth because there are a lot of features I like but they will require me getting used to them.

product is good, service lacked

Love the shoes. I use then for running, bicycling, and working out at the gym. They feel like they are a great fit with the occasional moment when they seem a little big but not enough to hinder my exercise. It took quite a while to get them though, due to the empolyees socializing with each other. I tried to get their attention without being rude, but i was met with no success. Then another employee came out from the back room and helped me right away. I have worked in retail for twelve years, its easy to spot the employees who are their because they like their job and the ones who are just their to collect a paycheck. I think every company has their share of both.

Lacking in stability

4

I bought these to replace my Brooks pure flows that were wearing out. I based my selection on positive comments on this site. I previously wore Asics gel blurr 33's and was very happy with them for 5k runs. I walked a few miles in the gel lyte's and did a 5k run and was generally dissapointed in the lack of cushioning in the forefoot and the lack of stability in the heel. I am a 60 year old male who runs 2-3 times a week for 3-5 kms. I will be going back to the Brooks pure flow which to me had better stability and better cushioning in a light weight shoe that is excellent for a forefoot running style.

Fast shoe with enough support

4

Bought the Gel Lyte a couple of weeks ago for the OC marathon. I am 55 and have run over 80 marathons. Have not used a racing flat in years due to foot issues. Normal training shoe is the Nike Volmero. Bought the Gel Lyte because I was attempting to qualify for Boston at OC. Pleasantly surprised with the comfort of the shoe during the race. Feet were no more beat up than they would have been had I raced in my Volmero's. Would not use it as an everyday trainer as I think it would break down rather quickly. Great racing shoe though.

Feels off, but performs well.

These were recommended to me by the online support for use during CrossFit training. I think if I had picked these out myself in the store, I would have passed. They feel barely there, and I like to have some cushioning under my feet. But after more than a week of use (7 workouts), I think they will work for me. I've yet to do a long run in them, but they've been great for CrossFit and Army PT.

Great Racing Shoe

5

Love em'! I wanted to try something more light weight for racing. I just love these and perfect for me to run races (so far 5K's and 5 miles). Definitely feel lighter on my feet than my trainers! I also liked the Brooks Cadence but went with these because they had slightly thicker sole. I wanted a little more support for my pronation though I've learned more on my forefoot! Great racing shoe!

A great, light, resonsive shoe!

4

This shoe reminds me somewhat of the Gel-lytes that used to be available but were dropped eventually in favor of DS Trainers. Nothing wrong with the DS trainers but I am very happy with the Gel-lyte 33 2's. I've been running for about 36 years and probably have logged around 40,000 plus miles. Don't change anything on the new Gel-lyte 33 2's as they are perfect for my running form!

Great cushioning

4

Asics have always been my go-to running shoes, and I absolutely love my GEL-Lyte33's, so when they came out with the GEL-Lyte33 2 running shoes I was very eager to try them out. The GEL-Lyte 33 shoes were awesome, so as soon as I tried them on, I had to have them. They are my favorite running shoes because they provide comfort and cushioning, while also remaining lightweight.

Lightweight

4

AS a sworn Asics fan, was really eager to try this shoe. They really are nice on the foot, lightweight and comfortable. Difinately great shoe for gym training or everyday use, maybe a short run now and then. But for sure not a serious everyday running shoe! They feel a bit bouncy... Overall great shoe for recreational users.

Not for sweaty feet

3

Okay, I use these primarily in the gym and for everyday walking to and from campus. Although I love the lightness, once my feet start to sweat its unbelievable how lacking in ventilation these shoes are. My shoes were soaked on an 85 degree day in the sun. None of my other asics ever felt like this. Swampy I must say.

Great shoe!

5

I am transitioning from a stability thick heeled shoe to a more neutral lightweight shoe and this shoe is awesome. My stride and foot landing is so much more natural. These shoes feel like a feather and yet have all the support I need. Really glad I bought these and I look forward to more natural running!

Great Quality/Great Price

4

I average 20 to 30 miles a week, but I'm not a small person as I weigh about 215. These shoes are lightweight yet durable enough to hold up to the pounding I give them. They are extremely comfortable and don't even really require a breaki period. This is the 3rd pair I've bought and I keep going back.

Great Shoe for short distance runs

4

This is a great shoe for short runs, less than 10 miles, but do not try to go on a long. Anything longer than 10 miles, your ankles will hurt. Overall shoes are light and great for fast runs. For sprint workouts these shoes would be great. So I went back to Asics Cumulus 15.

Love these shoes

5

Finally I found a shoe that just feels great to run in. The Asics Gel Lyte 33 2 has a perfect fit and I run much faster in these shoes then any other shoe I have worn. I have had these shoes for a few weeks and can't wait to run every day in them.

Great Shoe

5

Great light-weight trainer. Not radically light, and has good padding. Good replacement for the Nike Skylon, which should be resurected. My second pair of Gel-Lyte 33's. Soles wear fairly quickly, but a great shoe, nonetheless.

Ascics Gel Lyte 33 2

Shoe looks great, feels great. Noticeably light weight. Lacks in cushioning in my opinion. I'm a 70 miler a week runner, so I'm kind of picky with my shoes. Would be great for shorter distances, just not daily 10+ milers.

I like mine, delivery was fast and size was right as i was scared to order shoes online, but my pair fit perfect. Just Listen to the guy/gal salesman, i think they told me go a half size up and it worked out!

Great cushioning, comfortable & light

5

I've enjoyed the NB890's before the re-style, tried the 880V2 then ordered these Lyte33 2's - I'm going to order another pair because these are comfortable, cushiony and light! Everything I've been looking for.

Asics GEL is Awesome!!!

I have been using these for normal run training and have gone to a barefoot feel. Asics fits the bill nicely. Very comfortable and almost no break in. They are also great for casual wear.

Have ran in shoes a few times now seem to be pretty good shoes. With my arch supports they are very comfortable and I have not got shin splints so far so that's a huge plus.

Great shoe. This is my second pair. The weight is perfect and the cushioning is ideal. Don't know how they are going to improve on this model.
