I am a new runner and just started the Couch to 5K program. The last time I did any sort of running, I constantly had shin splints and foot pain, so I gave up. I decided it was just because I hated running!
But I was determined now to give it a try so I did some research on how to analyze my own gait, my arch, etc. I have a bit of an odd combo - a low (but not super low) arch and slight supination (favoring the outside of my foot), plus I am overweight so I need some extra cushion. Unfortunately, all of those "find your perfect shoe" services on various websites were not able to point me to anything that worked for that combo. Thankfully, a number of google searches led me to this shoe!
I'm about 3 weeks into Couch to 5K and have not had any foot pain or shin splints! Loving this shoe so far. The only complaint I have is that the back of the heel feels a little stiff, but I've read that the Nimbus (basically, the more expensive, more comfortable version of this show) has more flexibility in the heel. I don't regret choosing this shoe because it is affordable for a beginniner, but I think if this goes well, I will upgrade to the Nimbus eventually.
As for the width, I am glad I bought the Wide Width (D). I usually wear New Balance sneakers for cross training, because I like that their "regular" width actually runs a bit wide (and my feet are somewhere between normal and wide). I'd say the NB regular width is the same width as these shoes in D.
I did not need to size up a half size in this shoe.
DeLightful Running Shoes
I just started running again so I read reviews and bought these to start again. I purchased a half size bigger and that is the perfect fit, but I tend to run a bit wide and took a chance with the medium. The medium is okay for my first get back to running shoes, because Im only running 2-3 miles so I haven't had any problems with my feet after the run. I certainly will buy another pair, but the next width up.
Overall, the shoe is excellent! I have sensitive skin so I usually get blistets almost immediately, but not a single issue with these shoes, (in spite of fact I chose to keep medium width. The arch support is excellent for me because I have a high in-step it fits right on my in-step as if it was custom made for me.
This shoe is a Neutral and so if you have been fitted at Roadrunner store and you have been classified as a Neutral fit go with those shoes it pays off. I did and I made a great investment on these shoes. Lastly, the style and colors are nice too - well made.
Stiff, hard, uncomfortable!
I've worn lots of Asics Gel shoes - my current favorite is the Gel Excel 33.3 which is a fantastic shoe. My favorite everyday shoe for walking is the Nimbus. Enter the Cumulus.
I do not know what they did but this shoe is stiff like a board and has no flexibility once on your foot. It is not comfortable - the fit is totally off. The upper feels stiff and a bit almost scratchy to me - with light socks. They are far more narrow than previous versions - and I'm talking about the wide version! My toes were not comfortable. Going up another 1/2 size didn't work because then the arch and fit was off. I'll stick to my other Gel versions - I strongly recommend if you've liked other Asics Gel shoes that you try these on first and do a test run on the treadmill at RRS to see if these are going to work for you.
Not too bad
I am a new runner- trying to train for that first 5K! I've always liked asics for casual wear so I figured what the heck! I didn't know which to choose because I have a high arch and I'm extremely picky when it comes to sneaker comfort. I had a live chat session with a roadrunner rep and she recommended these. I love them! I've been out for 3 "runs" and no knee or ankle pain at all and it's because of the sneakers! Whenever I came back from a "run" in my last sneakers I'd always have pain- I thought it was just my bones getting old, but it's not! Love the colors and can't wait to get another pair!!
Something changed in the 16's!
I've been running in the Cumulus's for years, never ever a problem. Always could wear right out of the box. This was my first pair of 16's, avid to try the newest release. They felt small when I first got them. I thought it was because of all of the cushioning and would just flatten out after my first run. They were just okay. After a 10-mile race, my big toe turned purple and my foot was cramped the entire time. Needless to say, these were going back. Customer Service was very helpful. I'll be sticking to the 15's until I can go to a store and try on the 16's.
Closest thing to the Nike Pegasus 30
I hike every day and usually run or power walk once - I live in Utah so we do have some steep trails. These do fine as long as there isn't too much loose rock (but that is also not what they were designed for). I think they are best on pavement for a cushion-y, supported run.
I will say, that for anyone else experiencing difficulty with the new last of the Nike Pegasus line, these are a great alternative, particularly for those who need a bit more stability and support in a wide shoe.

Just bought these shoes on Friday and tested them out on Saturday. Went for a 10.5 mile run on pavement and had no problems. I found them to be better than the 15's. My previous pair was a Cumulus 15 which took a couple of days to break in. I had no issues with the toe box and found they had more room. This pair was great straight out of the box. Great cushioning for heel strikers. I always buy 1/2 size bigger and found the fit to be fine. Happy with my purchase.

Glad to have these back!
I stopped wearing these shoes when the 15's came out because I was having pain in my left foot when running. The 16's feel like the 14's did and I no longer have the pain. I do wear my shoes hard and have a bunion on my left foot which causes me to wear a hole in the mesh of the shoe rather quickly, so my only con is the durability. Overall I really like the shoe and have worn these for several years now excluding version 15.
Please don't discontinue!
These shoes have been the best I've had in years. I've been running over 20 years now and do about a half marathon every other year. I run and/or walk 3 miles a day unless I'm training for a race. I've been so happy with these super comfortable shoes. I got a PR in these pink beauties in my last half marathon but since the 17 just came out, I can only hope they can be as good. The bar has been set very high!

Just what you'd expect from a Cumulus
I run about 15-20 miles a week. I have bought the Cumulus ASICS model since the 11. It is usually consistent but some numbers (like the 14) felt stiffer and not as "cloud like". They went back to what I love with the 15 and have done a great job with this 16 as well. There are no surprises in the fit and feel if you've used the Cumulus before. If you haven't, it has the most cushion I have found in a running shoe, which I really like.
My go to athletic shoes, whether tennis, running, or walking the trails with my dog!
Can always rely on Asics to be comfortable from the first time I put them on my feet!
Love the many colors, hot pink tennis shoes, teal and lime running shoes and pink and royal blue trail shoes. Fun to look at, comfortable to wear!
Been wearing the Asic Cumulus for years. These shoes have great cushion and arch support. I run 20-30 miles a week on pavement and have had no issues with these (with the exception of the Cumulus 14's). I like the Cumulus better than the Brooks Ghost because I feel the Cumulus has more cushioning and is more flexible. Remember to order a 1/2 size up!
I do 24 miles weekly. I run on the treadmill and on the road. It is a pretty shoes but the cushioning is poor. Not enough! I did my half marathon Friday and could not wait to finish. The shoes ran well on the road but without comfort. It is firm and the sole is too flat. My achilles tendon are tight as a result of using these shoes. THE SHOES IS NOT FLEXIBLE.
Meets my shoe requirements
I am a runner, mainly half marathons-20 miles a week on average. I like the shoe's sizing and weight and that it's a neutral shoe. I don't like that I need to buy a sturdier insole, but know that's true of every shoe today. Also I wear out the back outside heal after only 3-4 months. Would love a sturdier heal!
runner for fun
I typically am a Brooks Ghost runner. These were recommended to run a 4/1 -run/walk marathon with a friend, at a slower pace. There is more cushion, stability in the heel. They are too much shoe, too heavy for my usual pace and shorter distances. I haven't run the marathon yet. I am confident they will work for the marathon. I like the colors!
I alternate between the Nimbus and Cumulus and I love this one just a tad bit more than the Nimbus. I am training for a race and I do believe I will be ordering this pair again in April just before the race. I have the Cumulus 15 and loved those as well. I have a plate and nine screws in my right ankle and these sneakers are perfect for me.

Love my Asics
I have been running in Asics for years now. This season I decided to venture out and try a new brand, however, I quickly gave them up for another pair of Asics. I like cushion of the cumulus. The shoe fits well. A little room in the toe box but great heel support. Arch seems pretty standard.
Yay for shoes that fit!!!
I love Asics. I am so thrilled to find a website that has women's Asics that fit me! I have only just started wearing these sneakers, but I love them. They fit my feet well and I have enjoyed them in the gym to this point (in afraid to get them dirty so I haven't warn them outside yet).
My favorite! Getting a second pair!
I love these sneakers! I bought them to use for aerobic workouts. Great on impact- I love them so much I'm purchasing a second pair for work/casual use.
I did order up a half size because I generally wear wide width and I have a high arch.
I wish they offered more colors.
I'm a new runner and these are wonderful! Lightweight and good sized toe box for my forefoot. Used them for my first 5K after 8 months off and had very little problems other than slight tingling in ball of foot. To be fair, I didn't really break them in : - (
As expected, Solid all around shoe
Using for road running and races. I like the toe box of the shoe is wide to give my foot room so to prevent any friction spots. I thought that colors were a little masculine at first...but realized they are prefect to wear with my Seahawks gear too!!
Most comfortable shoes I own!
I like to zumba and jog. Very comfortable for both activities! I have pretty collapsed feet so I always wear custom foot orthotics in my athletic shoes--- so I'm not sure how supportive the shoe is alone as I immediately transferred inserts into them.
This is it!
This is it! This is the running shoe that I will continue to buy/replace as I continue to run for my own fitness and to participate in events. I have no doubt this shoe will carry me across the finish line!
I use this shoes for running on the treadmill. Its pretty but its not flexible at all. Too stiff. I need a shoes with proper cushioning. When compared to the Brook 5 and Saucony ride 6,these are far better to run in for neutral feet runners.
really great shoe
bought for my daughter, who has problem feet. She is light weight with a very high arch and has trouble controlling her feet. These give her comfort, great control and are light.
love these shoes
I have such a hard time getting casual and dress shoes that fit. It's nice to know I'll get the perfect fit every time when I order these shoes. They are lightweight, well ventilated and comfortable!
Fantastic running shoes!!
I run 20 to 25 miles a week. These are fantastic shoes. I have nothing negative to say. They are durable, comfortable and just all around great running shoes.
Fast shipping. received my shoes in 4 business days. Excellent cushion. Improvement from prior cumulus 14 and 15. Cumulus 16 feels amazing.

Great shoe, but go up a 1/2 size
I'm a runner who used to wear Asics years ago. I switched to Nike and regretted it (they burn out fast). Now I'm back to Asics and happy, happy, happy!
bit too narrow
Great cushioning but the wide version seems not wide enough. Would have liked more variety in colors. The gel is great. Haven't tested durability yet.
