I held onto the GT2170 as long as possible and had to get new shoes. Decided to try the GT2000 as I am beginning my 7th season of Marathon training. The Melon color is awesome, this shoe is also lighter. However, the discomfort in the toe box area is concerning. I have lost a toenail before a shoe before the 2170. This shoe feels too short but I am concerned if I go up 1/2 size I will get blisters. It is very distracting on a long distance run to be concerned about what is happening with my toes. I was so looking forward to this new shoe with the bright colors being just as fabulous as the 2170 but with more color. So disapppointed.

Consistent, reliable shoe!
I love this shoe. It's pretty reliable in its claims of stability and comfort. It's nice and snug a half size up. I alternate with another pair when training for marathons because it really doesn't last that long--between 500 and 800 miles of road running. (I'd like to not have to buy a shoe every 6 mos or so). It's consistent in that my running feet have found a home.
works great for me
I pronate. no injuries using asics 2110, 2120, 2170. other re-designs not as successful. Was super worried when my go to long distance trainer was re-designed yet again. This time, for me, they got it right. It feels and fits great. Not a fan of black shoes or pink for girls so the colors are not great, but who cares if they work.
Stability & Comfort
This is my second pair of these shoes and I could 't be happier. The only reason I replaced the first pair is because I had a decent amount of mileage on them, and I am starting to increase my runs to train for a marathon. I've never had any foot pain due to these shoes, but I do have custom made inserts that help.
Great shoe but some issues
These shoes appear to be narrower than the 2170's which was the predecessor. On a 5 mile run today, my feet became numb after 3 miles. I either need to get a different shoe or the wide width which I have never worn. Be careful if you have a wider foot.

Good Stability Shoe
If you have a low arch, pronate or wear orthotics like me an overall good shoe. Can't go too wrong with an Asics although this new model tends to be a little bit big to size than in the past so i just wear a thicker sock.
Palm Harbor, FL
I have this model in electric melon, hope it makes me more visible on the roads.
I normally wear Asics but wish I had gone up a half size to have the extra space in the toe box I like for down hills.
Asics, it is all I wear to train/race!
I was surprised/pleased when my new Asics which were coming from the factory came ahead of time. Wore them next day for a 6mi. run w/ my running group. They were perfect of course as this style of Asics always is.
Hilton Head Island,SC
This is my fourth pair, but....
Just finished a 1/2 marathon in them. I have noticed a slightly narrower fit than the 2170's. I may go to the D width even though I have always done the B width.

Feels flat and unresponsive
Typically wear the DS trainers and gt 1000. Thought I would try the 2000 - big mistake. No heel toe transition and felt flat, floppy, and unresponsive. Sending them back.
Comfortable Shoe in Narrow
I went with the black option as there were only two available for the 2A size. I wish it was made available in the more popular colors for my width.
This is my second pair. Excellent for running on a treadmill or outdoor as well as for classes. I suggest to get a half a size bigger.
San Diego, CA
This is another great Asics shoe. I always worry when they change the number of the shoe but no complaints here.
