I trained for and walked my first half marathon at the age of 64 and weighing 200 pounds. I continue to do so - with the Brooks Ariel shoe. It totally has solved my pronation problem - so much so, I know immediately when I need a new pair. At first my toes wore out quickly, but I anticipate the problem is now solved with the new toe reinforcment recently added. Thanks Brooks.
Feels fairly light but cushioned
I've used these training for two marathons now, and the Ariel has become my go-to shoe.
I am inlove with my runners!
I just love the compact, comfy style of the Brooks Ariel. I love putting my shoes on for a work out and wear them long after I need to because of the bounce they give me. They are neat. When shopping for runners I found there are so many hyper-fancy-over-the-top technology and colours out there I am proud to have the plain and sensible understated style that I see in these runners.
Great Running Shoe for Support
I like this running shoe. I had problems with a stability running shoe in the past and tried the Ariel. I will be sticking with this shoe for a while. Feels stable and my orthotics fit perfect. Overall nice stable running shoe.

Got a few that were poorly made!!
I have worn these shoes for years as I overpronate. I started getting injuries in Nov. 2011 after buying a new pair. Left foot didn't feel right. I changed to another new pair in Jan 2012 thinking it might be the shoe but continued to have left hip and leg problems. My chiropractor looked at my shoes and noted that the left shoe was glued together wrong. It was shifted to the left and the logo in the back heel didn't line up straight like the right shoe. It also rocked back and forth when he applied presssure and was very unstable. The right shoe did not do this and was very stable. I was so upset but relieved that we found the problem causing my injuries to the left leg. The other pair I had in Nov. was even worse! I returned the pair I had had on and the clerk immediately saw that my left foot was shifting to the outside even when standing still. She had to go through 3 pairs to find a pair that were made right!!! So beware and check the heel of the shoe to make sure that the logo is in the middle and the shoe is aligned correctly. It has been 6 months of rehab and stress for me because of a very expensive shoe just slapped together in the factory!! RR did give me a new pair without hesitation!

Have used this product twice before with excellent results. My new running shoes have lived up to expectations. Recommended to me by orthopedic doctor.
Great shoe but....
GREAT shoes, I now own 4 pairs! Great support and they have helped my feet feel normal again.
My only complaint is that after about 6 months, they start to STINK! I mean cat-pee stink. I've tried a few commercial products and nothing works. They get down-right nasty and now the neighborhood cats are starting to follow me around!! :-)
First time I've had to retire shoes BEFORE the wore out.
FYI, I normally don't have stinky feet and these are the only shoes I've had the problem with. Ever!
Great Running Shoes
I used to run in the Mizuno Rengade 4 shoes because I have flat (very), collapsed arches & therefore wide feet. When they stopped producing them I was worried how I was going to run. These are very good replacements. Possibly not as soft/comfie but wide enough, give sufficient support, toe box is wide enough. They first felt a little stiff & tight but were good after a 12+ miles run (training). I just ran a marathon in them (and did well) a couple of days ago, no toe nor foot consequences.

Love these shoes for running!
I love these shoes for running. I live in the country, so I run with them on gravel roads. I've never used them on pavement, so I can't say how they are with pavement. I have a low arch and helps to control my pronation troubles. I am currently training for a half marathon, and these shoes have helped me to not have sore feet and get through the training. They are definitely worth the money, and you won't be disappointed.
Brooks Ariel, Love it!
Love this shoe, I have been running in the Brooks Ariel for years! I wouldn't get any other shoe. I run alot, between 40 and 70miles a week, training for marathons and chasing my 3 kids around and I wouldn't do it in any other shoe! I tend to get Plantar Fascitis easily and this shoe prevents that from happening. Thanks Brooks for making such a great shoe!!

This shoe rules my world!
I have never owned a shoe that felt this good to walk in (5 miles, multiple times a week). I have bunions, wide feet, and sometimes plantar fasciitis, but none of that is a problem now. I am so thankful this shoe comes in wide. I purchased them in the store, but now I plan to buy online since I have now become a loyal fan of Brooks!

Stinks afer getting wet
I have been running in this shoe for 10 years after my podiatrist recommended it to control by plantar facitis. Unfortunately the last two shoes I purchased really stink after they get wet. They smell like a cat urinated on them. Nothing I have tried takes out the smell.

Love These Shoes!!
I run about 40 miles a week, mostly on asphalt and I love these shoes! I have about 8 used pairs sitting in my closet and I don't even want to try another shoe. I get about 400 miles of wear out of them and I rotate every day (I run 7 days a week).
Always difficult to get my size
Use these shoes for workouts. Primarily on Elliptical machine and treadmill. Presently training for a half marathon. Great support and cushioning and toe box space!! Ordered a pair for my daughter who will also be doing the half marathon.

My knees are grateful
I have arthritis in my knees and flat feet and it's been a struggle to find activities that let me lose weight but don't kill my knees. These shoes have made a big difference in my ability to walk and jog without pain. Thank you Brooks!
great pronation control
lightweight, good cushioning and support.
Hello Old Friend
I've been wearing Brooks Ariel since version 8. Each one is better than the last, but I prefer 11 over 12. I was glad to have found these on the website!
I wear this shoe every day.
