Men's BROOKS® GHOST 7 :: Float right past the competition, running so incredibly light and cushioned that you'll be hauntingly hard to catch in the newly updated Men's Brooks® Ghost 7 running shoes. Get a fit that feels supernatural with the new no-sew overlays on this recent update, and move stealth n' smooth with the improved BioMoGo DNA midsole that delivers a plush feel and adapts to your every step. Plus, your feet will stay dry and comfortable while you're gliding past the pack thanks to the Ghost 7's moisture management lining and upper mesh.
The Brooks Ghost 7's continue delivering exactly what we know and love: A comfortable, no nonsense, high mileage daily trainer. If your looking for the most high tech, fancy shoe out there that is made of some obscure new fabric, with soles made from space age rubber and foam designed by NASA.....the Ghost 7 is not for you. But, if you are looking for a shoe that you can step into, tie up and go log some high miles; this IS the shoe you are looking for.
What has changed? The Ghost 7 has not changed much since its last model. Some slight cosmetic changes are present, but nothing that makes the shoe unrecognizable. The outsole pattern has slightly changed, with larger lugs across the midfoot, but it remains a smooth riding shoe across the board. They also seem a bit lighter than the Ghost 6, but not a night and day difference.
What has stayed the same? All the good stuff that us Ghost fans come looking for. Out of the box comfort, smooth ride, and cushioning. The cushioning is plentiful without becoming sloppy and unresponsive. I am a midweight runner who is a light heel striker and find that these shoes offer just the right amount of cushion. You can go out and work speed and sprints, just as easily as I can go out and run 15+ miles.
Bottom line is that if you want a great shoe for daily training, this is your shoe. Put them on, tie up, and GO RUN in comfort. Dont believe me? There is a reason that the Ghost continually makes Runners World best of lists.

Comfort & Style -Better than expected
I almost skipped these shoes all together, given the mediocre reviews on here, but tried them on in the store and was very happy with the result. I guess so, because I bought em. I run about 20 miles a week (road and treadmill) and wear them in the gym and have been very pleased with the level of cushioning, comfort and overall feel. These replaced a pair of Asics Gel Cumulus 14 - which I really liked. I easily could have gone for the Cumulus 16 but thought I'd try a new shoe. I'm glad I did. If I was forced to criticize, I'd say the tow box is a bit large for me, but that could be more of a sizing issue. All in all, I'm very pleased with these.
I was hoping that there wasn't a huge change from Ghost 6 except for an increase in breathability, which there seemed to. That's where it ends however. The 7's lacked any type of stability compared to the 6's and felt 'mushy' throughout a 7 mile run because of the much thicker insole. I would agree with the other reviewer that there is an upper heel issue as well. One shoe rubbed while the other felt like it was slipping constantly. The tongue of the shoe is also smaller and ends at an unusual length. In summary, it's time for me to stock up on the 6's.
I bought these based on the last two versions of this shoe. I run about 30 to 35 miles a week training for ironman 70.3's. The Ghost 5 was good and the Ghost 6 was incredible. The 7 is a huge disappointment!!! The arch is far narrower than the previous models and is uncomfortable. The midsole does feel softer than previous versions. The fit of the shoe just feels uncomfortable and way different than the 5 or 6. I'm stacking up on the 6's and hope the 8's are a lot better.
Back to Brooks
I am a Brooks fan and went away for a while. I'm back after wearing the Ghost. My only issues are PF flare up on anything over 9 miles. Not bad, but it's there after a long one. I haven't used it enough in the rain, but I'm worried about traction after a couple slips on wet spots. I'm comfortable with slick though, I live in Seattle. The show is comfortable and I have no issues or concerns. They seem very durable as well! My last 2 shoes died by this time in them.
I run 25-35 miles per week and thought I would try out the Ghost for my trainer. I am a Brook's fan, but usually train in the Glycerins. I wish I wouldn't have switched! The Ghost felt about a half size too small, extremely narrow toe box that almost rubbed my big toe off after a 10 mile run and no cushioning/support in the forefoot. I ordered the ombre (black and red) and my son said they were the coolest shoes he has ever seen...otherwise I would have given them 1 star!
Lace Eyelets preventing loop lacing
A year ago, I purchased a pair of Ghost 6 and set them up with a Loop Lace as I've done for years now, they were pretty close to wonderful. Just purchased a pair of the Ghost 7 shoes, and so far have been unable to find any method to get them to tie like a Loop Lace. The Ghost 7 still feels comfortable however it also feels drastically different on my feet due to their lacing limitation. I've read the Lacing Tips from Road Runner Sports but none of those methods feel solid yet.
Another Fitness Freak
I am a Cross Country Runner and I have tried many shoes. These shoes are simply amazing! I haven't had one problem with these. Honestly the cushioning from the impact and the lightweight of these shoes are unbeatable. Honestly I do not have any cons about this shoe. I use the custom insoles from Roadrunner (A great investment by the way), so I don't know how this supports arches normally. If you do plan on buying these, you have my blessings.
Vik the Sprinter
I'm 6'4" 215 and need good cushioned shoes. My all time favorites where Asic's Landrifts, but they don't make them anymore so I've been searching for a comfortable light weight replacement. The Ghost showed up and I took them for a short 2 mile check out run. Felt great right out of the box. Sunday I ran a 17 miler and now have a new favorite shoe. Great fit, good cushioning, and light weight, a winning combo!!
For me this shoe fits well and is very comfortable. I have traditionally liked ASICS Gel Kayano (another very comfortable shoe) but the toe box has been narrowed too much for me. The Brooks Ghost fit me better at a half size up. Super comfortable on moderate length runs (5-6 miles). These are my shoes for the present and near future.
I am used to running in more neutral shoes (Sketchers GoRun3) but I was fitted for these by the helpful staff at Road Runner Sports. It only took 1 or 2 short runs to get used to the extra cushioning and my feet have thanked me for it since. I have logged maybe 30 miles on these so far with no complaints.

Great shoe- wears out fast
I love the Ghost but have had a lot of problems with the Ghost 6 and Ghost 7's wearing out too fast. The outer sole breaks down faster than any other show I have run in. I am not a big runner at all - 5'10" and 165 lbs - I have run 4 marathons in the Ghost and, regrettably, this may be my last. I need to find a more durable shoe.

It has been years since I used Brooks. Started running in 1988 with shin pain. Switched to Brooks which took care of it. Best shoe in past was the Brooks beast. Over time switched to Adidas which also works well,; that is until I put on a pair of the ghost 7. Forgot how well Brooks shoes can cushion. I am Back to Brooks.
Too much change from Ghost 6
The cushioning is too mushy like some of Nike's shoes. Arch is minimal when should be avg to high. Too much room in forefoot/midfoot of the shoe. Back heel rubs on the outside on both heels.
I did like the light weight of the shoe.
I usually run about 20-25 miles/week.
I run more toward my toes and this shoe is great not too bouncy just the right amount if cushioning and fits great around my toes n balls of my feet. It's helps me run more comfortably and I can do 5k runs without shin splints n unnecessary pain/discomfort.
These Ghost 7 are the best Brooks shoes I have bought. I ran 10 miles right out of the box. They feel light and well put together. I'm considering buying another pair for my short runs. You won't be disappointed. I bought the blue ones and they look really good.

I am a competitive runner and train 6 days a week, have worn several different brands through the years. Brooks are by far the best running shoes. the ghost series have become my go to daily shoes. The 7's are my third go.
Likin' the Ghost
First pair of 'real' running shoes. Wife recommended....she made a good call. Good shoes for the limited miles I use them for.
I have put 25 miles on this shoe so far and it is by far the most comfortable shoe I have used in a long time.

Trial shoes for a new runner...my husband. He likes them except one rubs on his heel!
