I bought these for a 9 mile race but waited so long to order them that I did not get a chance to try them before the race. I was worried about this but from the positive reviews I had read, I was hoping I would be OK. I never thought about the tights the entire race so I would say they are prefect. The compression helped at the end since I am not used to running this distance.
I am 5'6" and 125-130lbs and the small size fit well.
You will not regret spending the money on these and I plan on buying the full length for this winter.

Love These Compression Capri Tights
These are well worth the price here at RRS. I purchased first pair at a local store just to be able to try them on and get advice. I have a one pair of the knee length shorts and one pair of this capri. I absolutely love them ~ never go on a long run without wearing them. I gave 4 stars only because I am 5'3" ish and the placement of the knee support is a little long for me but I work it. I am 44 and have lost 50 pounds via diet and running and the support these pants offer is awesome. Don't hesitate invest in yourself!
Best running tights
I wear the Stabilyx tights just about every time I run. I have 3 of the CW-X tights: these are my favorites. They perfectly compress in all the right areas. There is extra wrapping around the knees and IT band area. I recommend to those runners who have knee and IT band issues as I have had in the past. The tights are made by the Wacoal company~ a worldwide leader in intimate apparel. They also happen to make great sports bras. I highly recommend that you try CW-X, and these pair in particular.
I love the support
I rated these as feeling too small, but I think that's the whole point of them. I picked my size from the sizing chart. It takes some effort to get them on, but once they are properly aligned, they feel great. They stay in place and provide support that I haven't found in any other tights. Maybe it's my imagination, but I seem to have more endurance when I wear them as compared to regular tights. They're pricey but are well made so I expect that they will last a long time.

Although I was skeptic about the advantages of compression wear, now I'm a believer. I really notice a difference on the second day of back-to-back hard training days. I am a trail runner and also feel an advantage, having the extra support around my knees, especially on rough downhills. The seam at the crotch/thigh junction was irritating, on very long runs (18+ miles), but I was able to carefully trim it, which helped. These tights are well worth the investment!

Great Compression and Flattering
I'm 5'5", 107 lbs (32-24-36). I got size XS
I use these for running and skiing.
I was debating between size XS and S and decided on XS. When I got these I thought there was NO way I was fitting into them; they looked like they'd fit a 12 year old. Surprisingly, they did fit and they made my legs and butt look good! Putting them on requires effort. You have to situate the knees first and then slowly pull them up. Make no mistake about it, these capri's are tight. Nothing giggles, which for me is awesome and is the reason I buy compression pants/capri's. I will say that you can "feel" the seems on these which is a bit weird. I would recommend them and buy another pair.
Running Gear I can't live without!
PROS: The support these tights give is amazing. I own 3 pairs and don't do runs longer than 4 miles without wearing them. I truly believe that the additional panels that lay on top of your IT band and wrap around the knee help your body stay in alignment especially when fatigued. I credit these tights and religious use of a foam roller as the key ingredients of my finishing my first half marathon (training program and race) without getting injured. Similar to another reviewer, I have larger calfs and the bottom of these capris stays put and doesn't bunch up behind the knees. They hold up well in the wash (cold wash/air dry). My first pair is over a year and a half old and they still provide great support, although they are no longer quite as tight as my newest pair.
CONS: On long runs (over 8 miles) I have experienced some chaffing on my bottom due to the seaming at the back of the crotch panel. I remedied this by applying glide stick to the area before pulling on the tights. The seam in the back of 2 of the 3 pairs of these tights rubs my tailbone (a small spot about the diameter of a pencil eraser). I don't realize its rubbing while running, but will notice it afterwards. If I tuck my shirt in that fixes the problem. Even with these two 'cons' I still rate this product 5 stars.
SIZING: As another reviewer mentioned, go to CW-X's website and look at their sizing chart rather than relying on the one provided on Road Runner's site. It is a grid with weights in 5 lb increments and height in 1 inch increments. This will ensure a good fit. These are a true compression tight they should feel tight when you put them on.

They're compression tights, so yes they are tight. They are still very comfortable and supportive. If you're unsure of your size, order the larger size--I'm a small to medium and the medium fit nice and snug.
First Time Half Marathoner
I bought this for running. It's slightly shorter than I expected, but it will be perfect for Spring and summer weather. Very good support and compression for the thigh.

Great tights, worth the $$
These tights are great. At the time I am posting this review, 83% of other reviewers indicated this capri tight ran small. These are a true compression tight and the fit should be snug, but not uncomfortable. I'd recommend looking at CW-X's sizing chart, rather than the one that RoadRunner includes on this site. CW-X's sizing chart is a grid that increases by 1 inch height increments and 5 pound weight increments (similar to the sizing chart for most stockings/pantyhose). At 5'6" and 138 lbs, I fall in the "grey area" and chose to size up to a medium, as my upper body is slimmer than my lower. They fit great. RRS - please do all of your shoppers a favor and replace your sizing chart with CW-Xs for this product!!! I have large calves and these capris stay put at the bottom, rather than riding up and bunching at the knees like most other capris do. I bought my first pair a few months ago and am asking for another for Christmas.

great stability, but buy 1 size up
I bought these for stability/support for running, especially for my knees. they provide very firm support, but i recommend going one size up, it was almost hard to breath they were so tight...but i'd still recommend them to someone looking for firm control
No more knee pain!
As a 43 year old runner with torn cartilage and ligaments in both knees, I frequently find that my knees ache after long runs. With these pants, my knees feel 80% better after even long runs of 12 miles. I always wear these for long runs now and have invested in a second pair.
Does the Job!
I'm a beginner runner and I'm on the heavier side (5' 6 1/2", 175 lbs). I initially got a L but didn't feel like they were as tight as they were supposed to be so I returned them for a M. Ooh WEEEEE now these babies are TIGHT! I had to fight to get them on but when I went out to run in them (3 miles) I felt GREAT. My shins didn't hurt (my battle) and my legs just felt great. They were murder to get on but they were worth it. I probably wouldn't wear these everyday just because of the hassle to get them on but I will definitely wear them when I need additional support and on longer runs (once I get to that point). I will be ordering more for sure. I can imagine I will be racing in these.
Oh, and if you have cellulite... no one will ever know in these! ;)
Got my FAST Pants!
I love my CW-X tights! They make every one's butt look great!! Many of the ladies that I ran with - all purchased them - we are all seasoned runners. They all raved about theirs and I really wanted a pair.
The one comment I kept hearing was "they fit very snug." When I compared my size/height/weight to the chart, I was closer to the XS, but ordered the S. I used to be bigger (size M) before I started running and I think that I haven't quite wrapped it around my head that I am now tiny! An XS would have provided me with more support in the specific targeted areas.
These are my favorite tights, I won't bother with the other brands. I'll have to get a pair of shorts next.
Thanks for carrying them in your product line.
P.S. My running has gotten faster too!
I will not run without wearing the CWX
Since a girl at a running store recommended them after complaining about knee pain because of an injury I started wearing the CWX. I could not be happier. Great support for knees, hips and abs. My recovery time is reduced and I do not have pain on my knees any more. I could use KT Tape instead too. I love these tights. You could be cold in winter conditions since there are not thick, but once you start running you will feel how it 'massages' your legs and you will not feel the cold anymore. I would recommend that if it is really cold you could wear a light layer over the CWX. It is really hard to put them on, since they should be very tight. Once you wear them for the first time and they have stretched a little bit it will be easier to put them on the next time. Take your time to put them on.
I would like to buy a second pair!
I purchased an xs. After getting them on, which is a challenge the first time, they felt snug everywhere but almost pinching, in the back of the knees. I just wasn't sure if they would be uncomfortable while running. So exchaged them for a small, which were just slightly bigger. After wearing them many times I do think I should have kept the xs, as the proportion was better for the alignment of the knees for support. I think they loosen slightly while wearing as well. I will definitly buy another pair, but this time in an xs. I am 5 ft 1, and 112 lbs. I guess it would be nice if they came in a petite length due to proper knee alignment. I can run longer distances without knee pain, and also amazing compresssion through the thighs and rear!
Great for long run recovery
Every time I put these on, I feel like a 10 lb. sausage in a 5 lb. casing. Seriously. CW-X compression tights are simply old-fashioned girdles re-packaged in better looking fabric. But do they work... YES, and you get to look a little thinner! I don't like to run in them because they are tight around my knees and I don't need that. I don't have any injuries. Their best use for me is marathon recovery. I put them on after a race and keep them on for hours, and sometimes again the whole next day. My legs get better so much faster when I do that, it's amazing.
Do these CW-X do their job? Yes. Is the craftsmanship worth the price? Yes. Personally, I think compression tights are unattractive, so I wear a skirt over them.
Great for winter runs!
I was having knees problems for a while and went to see an acupuncturist, and was told I had "energy block" due to long term and ignored injury. After two months off from running, I decided it's time to let go my shorts and get a 3/4 or full length tight to keep legs warm during winter run. I have Sugoi capri but they don't "hold" me tight enough, and after some research online I decided to give CWX a try. After the first run in this at 6:00am in Nov, I love this immediately. They hold my muscle and knees well and at the same time I can move freely. Much better support than regular tights!! My legs feel strong in them, so I am thinking to get another pair.

I would buy these again
Based on all the recommendations, I bought these and I really like them. I think they are a little big for me; I am 5'4", 135 pounds, and I bought size Medium. They are too long rather than too tight. I think if I had gone down a size they would be too snug. I wish they were a little shorter, but I manage.
I really like the snug fit, and although I can't comment on whether they help my legs feel better or not, I like the way they feel when I'm running. Actually, I guess I should say I like the way I don't feel them at all when I'm running, they seem to disappear, but I really appreciate the exceptional support.
I tried my first pair at a recent 10k race and felt the difference immediately. Great support and my legs felt great afterwards.

Worth every cent
My daughter runs XC and had sore knees last season. We saw these tights in Runner's World magazine and thought we'd give them a shot. As soon as she tried them on she was amazed at how they supported her knees. She swears by them and has run an entire season with ZERO injuries, knees or otherwise. A teammate with sore knees just ordered a pair and will have them on in time for the state meet this week. Rare to find a product that delivers as advertised. My daughter won't run without them. They are snug and hard to get on but stick with the sizing chart. It's accurate. Great Product and worth every penny.
Great product that does the job
I bought these tights because I have bad knees, but have recently taken up fitness walking/running and then entered a half-marathon as part of a relay team. I needed all the support I could get! These really helped to keep my muscles and joints supported, which in turn helped me conserve energy for the big push to the finish line. These are really great. One note to watch out for: Buy one size larger than you think. I usually wear a medium, and it was way too small on me so I bought a large.

CWX Compression and performance, but...
I use CWX tights for crossfit and running - especially marathons and hill repeat/speed sessions. Decided to try the capris for warmer weather. These are the same great compression and performance I expect from CWX; however, there is no triangle/diamond in the crotch area. These MUST be worn with a thong or under ware - OUCH!!!!
They are see through - ok for running with a long shirt /shorts over, but definitely need shorts or underware for crossfit.
Giving 4 stars, because they perform, but need to be 1) less see through 2) Crotch protection.
I'm a believer.
I was hesitant to spend the extra money as there are other compression tights advertised for less. But, as a year-round athlete, training and competing in triathlons I always seem to have aches, pains and sore muscles so I sprung for the CW-X capri tights. Glad I did! The tights are suppportive without being restrictive, warm on those days too cool for shorts and after a long run muscles stay warm and relaxed. I plan on ordering these for a gift for my daughter immediately!
Best. Pants. Ever.
I got these pants for Christmas and I freaking love them. They are snug but all compression pants are. I typically run 2+ hours on Sunday's and these pants allow me to feel strong enough to follow up my runs with soccer. Seriously these are the best distance running pants I've ever owned. No leg fatigue during the run and absolutely no discomfort the day after. I want 7 pairs of these so I can wear them every day. Cannot say enough about how much I LOVE THESE PANTS!!!

Too much compression
I was really excited to try these compression capris, but sadly had to return them. I got a medium (5'-5" and 150lbs). The waste and hip area fit perfectly, but I have muscular legs (and knees I guess) and could barely get these tights past my knees. When I finally got them on they were so restrictive that they pinched the back of my knees and calves. So uncomfortable, I couldn't imagine going for a run in these. Sending them back and will use my gift card on something else.
I am a distance runner, I am now having hamstring issues , got these to see if they would help with the hamstring pain, maybe somewhat, but they do seem to give me support for my achy knees& also for my IT band pain as well. Love these tights, feel great, love the colors stitching, thinking about ordering another pair , just maybe the black....they feel better than an other running tights I have ever owned or ran in.
These tights are well worth the money. Make my legs feels so good when running. I am 5'4", 128lb and ordered the small. The sizing information on the page left me uncertain, so I followed others advice and went to the CW-X web page to determine sizing. That worked out well and I would highly recommend that you do the same. And yes, I ordered the full length tights after trying these. Will definitely be running in these most of the cooler weather days.

I wondered after these arrived and I put them on, why I waited so long to buy a pair of CWX Compression wear. I mean after running for nearly 30 years where have I been? The fit is comfortable and firming. Love the support. So impressed with my first pair, that I bought a pair of tights, shorts, two pair of compression leg sleeves and arm sleeves. I followed the size recommended and the items fit perfect. Happy running..........:)
My second pair of CW-X capri tights. Absolutely love them. Feel like the added support helps my performance and recovery - ran a difficult 20k trail run and was not sore the next day day. Bought the multi/rainbow colour for a splash of fun! According to the CW-X size chart, I fell b/w a S and M and should have sized up but am very happy that I chose the size S - fits well without any dramas to put on/take off.
