This bat brings together the best qualities of Easton's Power Brigade; the XL1s big barrel, and the S1s speed. I got this bat going to the CWS and as soon as I took a swing with it, I realized that it would be the bat I would be using for the whole tourney. I previously owned the Easton XL1, and recently I had been struggling to catch up to the faster pitchers, but because of this bat's weight distribution, I can now get the big barrel of the XL1 through the zone with the timing of a S1. Despite the price tag, this bat is the best bat on the market and by far the best BBCOR I have ever used. If you like easton's XL1 or S1 or if your just looking for a strong bat that will last and has a lot of pop, this is the bat for you!

S1 plus XL1 equals unstoppable
I'm a contact hitter and had the first model s1. I loved it. When I learned about the new Mako coming out and saying it'd a xl1 and a s1 combined, I thought it would be too heavy for me. But when I demoed it, it blew the s1's bat speed. And it launches! I just got mine today (Just not sure about the 2 piece connector)

I had last year's S1 model, and now I got the Mako. The Mako blows last year's S1 out of the water. It has a lighter swing weight than last year's S1, but has a much bigger barrel than it. The barrel is only a tiny bit smaller than the XL1. Overall, this bat has tremendous a swing weight and a big barrel. It is the best BBCOR bat I have ever swung.
Bat is Great! You make it Greater!
The Mako is undoubtedly the best BBCOR bat made, considering its Pop, feel, balance, and comfort. This bat has a crazy amount of pop, but pop is not what hits the ball, you hit the ball by making contact the abundance of pop that is in the Mako just helps you hit it much further. The bat is very balanced, it feels like I am swinging a 32-29 XL1. In the past two years, I have swung an XL1...loved it, a LS Attack....was indifferent about it and now the Mako...absolutely crazy about this bat. The balance is what gets me, being a contact hitter I look for something to hit the ball to gaps and up the middle, and this is a great swinging bat letting me get through the zone quicker than ever!(which comes from lifting mainly...but still that bat doesn't hurt) Get this bat! You'll love it! If the price is what gets ya, get a lower ended model, maybe an S2. EASTON = GREATEST BATS EVER
Its pretty good
I just stared using my mako last week and its OK. i thought all of the pop would be spread throughout the bat, but most of it is concentrated on the "E" on the bat. Its bat speed is better than the S1 and is not top-heavy like the XL series, so you won't find yourself dropping your hands as much.

over all, this bat is amazing.
Before I had an s1 and I doubted that the mako would top it. It seemed right at first, because it had a little bit of pop, but that's because its like all composite bats in the way that they need a lot of swings to break in. When I broke it in, no bat is or was as awesome as the mako. the pop on the bat and the sweet spot are far better and bigger than any bat. Not to mention, the incredible weight distribution. I would definitely recommend this bat. However, I would not recommend this bat if you do not have the time to break it in.

the player makes the bat
I have only used the MAKO in batting practice along side the s1, s2 and XL1 I will say that they all perform well in the cage, but it is going to be the hitter him/her self that is going to make these bats great. I do want to say, the MAKO has great pop so far and you can hear the difference between a good hit and a bad hit, but should be expected of any bat, I believe that all of these bats are suitable to use for any player of great skill, if you are and average player you will benefit from all of these bats due to there balance, speed through the zone and technology of material they are make of. I would recommend all of these bats but the MAKO is just a little bit better than all of them in the cage so far, I have used all but the MAKO outside but the feel for Me is amazing. I have to mention the price, if you are willing to purchase a bat in the 300 to 500 dollar range, this is a good deal, if you play weekend ball and think this is ridiculous, you are not as hard core as some and that's fine, but if you love this game..... go get one baby!! so far I love them all, really was skeptical at first I loved the S1 and XL1 but this bat just seems to fit me. good luck and hope you are able to at least try one. but buying and owning it is a lot better.

This bat is very good only its sold out but if they had more our size they would make a lot of money but I have watched a lot of ball and its has good pop

Best BBCOR Bat to ever exist. Better than S1.
When it comes to BBCOR bats, you can say that I've pretty much swung every bat from most every maker. I've swung the Demarini Voodoo, Vexxum, M2M, Louisville Attack, Exo-grid, Omaha, Rip-it Prototype, Marucci Elite, Black, Team, Rawlings Velo, 5150. And I have also swung every Easton Power brigade bat to come out. And by Far the Mako is the best BBCOR i have every swung, also it has everything that i look for in a bat. It is crazy balanced, huge sweet spot, great grip, very little vibration. Another great feature of this bat is that it gives a player great confidence walking into batter's box knowing that you have the swing speed to catch up to any fast ball, and use the mass of the barrel to line a ball into left, center, and right field. Now, I'm a contact hitter, no where near a power hitter but this bat is everything that that a contact and power hitter needs and I've found this bat to give me more power than i have ever had. I'm a huge fan of the S1 and this bat is faster more balanced, and has a much bigger sweet spot. Before i bought this bat i read every single review that was out there, and they all said that they complained about the price and wasn't sure if this bat was worth the $450. Don't get me wrong that a good bit of money, but i can personally tell you that this bat is well worth it and i believe that this bat should be priced higher. IT'S THAT GOOD.

the mako is one of the best bast out there. I play club ball and I've had many bats and this is the favorite. of course since it is a bbcor it has less pop compared to a -5 so if u don't have to use a -3 I would recommend the xl1 -5 but if u have to swing a -3 u should the mako
Los Angeles, CA
Great weight distribution. Best bat I've ever had.
I've always been a bit of a contact hitter, I never hit the ball super far. The ball bounces off the bat and now I hit it in the gaps a lot and even when I make weak contact I hit it hard. Once you break this bat in, it is unlike any other bat! I highly recommend it.

Perfect for my style of hitting
This bat has an extremely light swing weight, good feel, decent pop. If your not a huge power hitter but can still get a hold of one once in a while this bat is for you. If you have the money and you consider yourself to be this kind of a hitter then I would definitely get this bat.
Just received I have used it in BP but have not used in any tournaments can't wait till this weekend but great pop happy I could get it 100$ off worst thing I was pretty mad when I received because it was chipped when I got it. I would like a replacement
Doesn't live up to the hype
I bought this bat thinking the larger barrel would help me square more balls up. I had swung the S1 in the past and really liked it, but would get jammed a lot. When I started to swing the Mako, it had some good pop but then it all just went away. This bat feels like there is no weight in the barrel and there is a distinct difference in the sound of a good hit and a poor hit. I would recommend the S1 over this bat because the balance in the bat remains consistent, unlike the Mako where there is no weight in the barrel and all of it is towards the handle.

This bat seems dead
My son has swung the 33/30 Mako all season. Went to the 15U World Series last weekend and the other teams had the same problem. This bat just seems dead. No one got a good solid hit with it. We went back to our last years composite bat. Don't waste your money on this bat. It swings nice, but no pop. Heck, the colleges didn't even swing them. They used old broke in bats.
Fort Wayne, IN
the only bbcor bat that feels like besr
the mako is truly the only bbcor bat that when you but the ball on the sweet spot it feels and carries like a ball hit off of a besr bat. huge sweet spot i swing a 32 29 and it feels like i am swinging a 32 20 i can really get the bat through the zone. on my legion team and highschool team seven of our starting nine swing the easton mako.

Last year, I was in 13u baseball and I had the XL3. IT cracked in 11 places!!!! My mom and I sent it in to Easton and they gave us a great reimbursement for the bat. I knew right away.. I wanted the Mako! I just received it today and I can already feel like its gonna be great! Can't wait for Wednesday for my next Captains practice!!

Not for me
Great bat for anyone trying to get on base but not for power hitters, I'm a homerun hitter I prefer the xl1 for power hitters but mako is still an amazing bat I was amazed at the weight distributed over all I would listen to me cause I'm someone that has both bats (mako , xl1) and there both amazing so it's what is for you
New York, NY
The Easton MAKO is a amazing bat it is better than the s1 and xl1 the mako has a giant sweet spot and insane wight distribution I was a contact hitter with the s1 and power hitter with the xl1 now I'm both with the mako this bat is amazing I recommend this bat to all players
Bedford, TX, USA
huge amount of pop
Well, I loved this bat it has the most pop of any BBCOR bats that I have ever had... The only thing is that mine is now broke because I hit an inside pitch and it sound like a price of junk now. But before that it had awesome power.
greatest composite bat ever
i swing a 32 29 bbcor mako when i got it last year when i was 14 i played in babe ruth 16-18 i hit 29 homeruns of of them that what make that bat special big barrel and fast swing speed
Evansville, IN, USA
This bat is not heavy at all and helps tremendously with my swing speed
Overall the mako is the best bat in my opinion out there and Easton is always getting ahead of technology. That's why I switched over from demarni because Easton has more to offer.
Awesome bat, swung it at bat wars. Is there any way I can find this bat in a 31/28. Any help would be appreciated. Much thanks Michael
MAKO Vs. 2013 S1
I play college ball and i just started to swing the MAKO. I swung the S1 last year and loved it. I am a contact hitter, so naturally i want a more balanced bat. I like the balance of the MAKO but last years S1 beats the MAKO by a long shot in bat speed. The S1 still has a ton of pop and is well balanced.
The first BP I ever had with this bat I hit 3 Bombs in a Row. Amazing pop!!!
Fairview, OR, USA
great bat has good features
balanced well and very good bat has a lot of power and pop
must have bat
the mako is the greatest bat I have ever swung I used and loved the s1 before this but now the mako is is my go to bat
long island ny
Perfect for everybody
This bat doesn't even feel like its a -3 bat so that is good for the weaker players, and then when you hit the ball... it just jumps off your bat so that is good for power hitters... this is the ultimate high school/ college bat.
Atlanta, GA, USA
It has a lot of power and high speed
NO player would ever denie this bat. It feels like it was meant for you once it's in your hand.
Great balance, tremendous pop, forgiving barrel!!
My brother has 8 home runs in the last month with the 2014 Mako. YouTube search Brandon Dorsey to see proof of the pop!!
