I really wanted this for my birthday however I was hesitant to ask for it because so many people were giving it negative reviews. I decided to try it anyway and I am absolutely in love with it!! I've had the band for 3 months now and have not had very many problems. I find the fitbit to be extremely accurate in step counting and you may get a few floating steps but nothing that seriously skews your data. I love the online feature that lets you log your activity and food intake because it really helps me try to promote a healthy lifestyle. You can even log activities that aren't just walking or running (I'm a dancer and dance 10-20 hours a week so I love that feature) and it will calculate your calories burned etc. I also love the fitbit premium (part of online dashboard) which is $50 a year but totally worth it as it gives you a really in depth analysis of all your data, however, if you don't want to pay, the regular dashboard is also really helpful. I also love that it is waterproof because I can use it to swim in the pool or shower and not worry that it is going to stop working. I haven't had any problems with water damaging it but I don't know if I would recommend using it for diving, or ocean use (salt water is never good) or swimming where it will be submerged frequently even though it says these are all acceptable.
Additionally, the fitbit gives you a lot of positive motivation both on the dashboard and the band itself (it does a little happy dance when you reach your goals) and even though they're seemingly insignificant online"badges" it really makes me feel good that I met my goal for the day or a long term goal and it motivates me to want to keep achieving these "badges".
I only gave it 4 stars because there are some areas for improvement.
First it does not tell you stairs climbed. I really wish this was an option as I often choose to take the stairs over elevators etc and I wish that it would record them as stairs and not just steps
Second the band gets really easily dirty and discolored. I have the band in teal and it has become discolored with dirt around the edges (particularly the clasp) it does come off with a little soap and water but not all the way. I'm going to order a darker color band and this will hopefully solve that problem.
Third the only thing I really dislike is that the "dongle" that plugs into your computer to sync your data is pretty flimsy and sometimes when its plugged in my computer doesn't register it and I have to fiddle around to make it work, however, I have not needed to replace it so far.
Fourth I do wish it had a watch feature as I dislike wearing a watch and the band
Overall this is a great and convenient activity tracker and I use it everyday, love the look, and I really think it helps me improve activity.

This product is initially a novel product and kind of fun to use, but as the novelty wears off one will come realize that it is a high-tech pedometer.
The only way to find out how many steps or miles you have ran/walked is to either use the phone app or log on to the website. There is no way to actually use the fitbit flex itself to see this information. Also, the fitbit seems to be inaccurate with active minutes vs inactive minutes and is not a good measure of overall activities. I wore it once to a cycling class to get an idea of how many calories I burned and it reported zero active minutes.
A few other times when I went on a walk it again recorded 0-8 active minutes despite walking between 30-50 minutes. Its not always inaccurate but it leads me wonder how accurate the calorie deficit recorded really is.
Another qualm I had with the device is that the website has very few foods recorded in its database and you practically have to manually add nutritional information for all foods consumed.
Maybe just buy a pedometer for $20 or a Garmin if your serious about the mileage your putting in.
A great gadget!
I picked up the FitBit after some rave reviews from friends. Typically I am not one to track my workouts or log them outside the confines of my Garmin HRM/GPS but this has been an easy way to do it.
- Workout logging on the app is a little tedious, but it does allow you to log your time, calories and other general info.
- The band is comfortable and pretty unobtrusive. I wear it and my RoadID on the same arm without feeling like I'm overloaded with accessories.
- As advertised, the sensor lasts about 5 days and will warn you on the app when it's low since there doesn't seem to be an accurate means of finding out outside the app that I am aware of.
- The auto calorie counter for workouts overshoots it by a lot from my workouts but can be added manually.
- I love the water intake and sleep trackers. I exercise plenty but as it turns out I don't drink as much water or sleep as much as I thought. It has been a great cue to take care of the non-exercise parts of staying well.

the product works well and straightforward to link to your iPad, iPhone and computer, but it might be a little challenging for someone uncomfortable with technology.
The product works best if you also keep track of the times you do activities outside of running or walking. For example, I play tennis and if I do not log in my tennis workout and the duration of it, it will only notice a percentage of what you did, as the device is not capable of noticing exactly what you were doing and how rigorous the exercise was.
That said, I find it reasonably accurate (probably within 5 - 10% of what I am actually doing)... which is likely to be good enough for anyone out there. I like how it positively influences my spouse's and my outlook on being activity. We do not track our caloric intake but if one did, they could pretty confidently quantify what it would take to lose or gain weight.
Keeps me on track
I bought the Fitbit flex to help keep me keep track of calories consumed, calories burned, steps, and exercise minutes. I even set goals for water consumption and total sleep time each night. It tracks time awake and times restless during sleep. I find myself trying to achieve my step goals before I settle down at night and have stopped over-eating when I get close to my daily calorie goal. The only downside is the recharging. Although easy to do, and quick, I only received one email notification that it needed recharging. It stopped tracking my steps one day, half-way through the day. Otherwise, this is a good product and fairly easy to set-up and use.

I have had the fit bit for about a month and i have nothing but great things to say. It has a silent alarm that wakes just me up in the morning, so that I don't disturb my husband. It also has the feature of letting me enter all the foods I eat every day. It has made me more conscious of what I eat and how much to eat. I love how it measures the steps per day. it makes me want to get to the daily goal. I already feel my clothes fitting looser on me. Wish I would have bought this sooner!
I am using the Fitbit every day, except in the shower. That's when I usually charge it. I love the alarm system, because it is very comfortable without the annoying sound.
Had problems with the first one, because it did not charge correctly, however, after a "no problem" exchange, everything is perfect.
I started a group and we are challenging each other, sharing only the step count.
Love the Fitbit.
In general, its a decent product to track your activities. The issue is entering the data on to your smart phone(iphone). The list of food is not always fitting to your diet and it can be annoying when sleeping. Then again it creates good habits because you constantly watch your daily intake and activity(output).

I love my Fitbit!
I am technically-challenged, and the Fitbit is easy to use. I recently completed cardiac rehab and I love that I can track my activity easily on my phone. It helps encourage me to keep moving.
Uncomfortable where the end touches my wrist, it is rough. I have tried it loose and tight have not found the comfort zone. Came loose almost lost did find.
Have been keeping steps , activities and caloric intake.
Long and narrow

StepI It Up!
Forces me to focus on getting up from my desk; in addition to doing a daily work-out.
I am happy with my Fitbit ¿
I use my Fitbit to encourage myself to walk and exercise more. Also very important for me to see my sleep patterns and how long I actually sleep, it is helping me to achieve my goals.
