Very comfortable feel. I've worn everything from Nike Frees to New Balance shoes and the Wave Riders are by far the best. Even though they are 11.3 oz it feels lighter. This shoe is for the neutral to high arched runner. Did I mention, This shoe resolved my shin splints?

I'm a high school XC runner 5'8'' 150lbs. 25-30 miles/week, used these for everything from 400s to 10 milers. I have to say, these are the best shoes I ever owned. Solved my shin splint problems that I got from Nike's LunaTrainer. I've put on about 350 miles so far and they're just now starting to wear down. They'll at least last me another 30-40 till I get another pair for Christmas...I hope

This really is a good shoe ,i am on my sixth pair , it is not for me a high mileage shoe though, if i get 200 miles thats good , i run trails alot with them and that may contribute to the wear and tear , used to use asics gel kayano which held up longer but started to hurt my achilles , starting with kayano 11 - 14's. 6'-0" 170 lbs

Not only are these extemely comfortable right out of the box, they're also very durable. My old 400+ miles pair don't feel much different from my new pair. And I'm reasonably big (6'2", 180). I have put in several 10+ mile runs in them, and they really do the job.

Really like this series of Mizuno shoes. 6 ft 165lb high arch with D width forefoot, 60 yr old running about 20-30 miles per week. Have run in WR 9,10,11,12. Although others have comments re changes in the shoes over the years I find them pretty consistant. good shoe for room in forefoot area. I'm a fore/midfoot strike runner and although heel cushioning is not the softest its fine for me. I do run about 60 percent on packed dirt/sand roads.

First pair of Mizuno shoes and I have been impressed. Shoes are very comfortable and have held up nicely in longer runs of 18+ miles. Shoes do not feel bulky and seem to be a nice blend of lighter weight and cushion. Average around 30 miles a week and 3 - 4 marathons a year. Have used Nike shoes in the past (Volmero and Structure). Will be buying Mizuno again.

I would not expect these to last 3 years. They last about the same as any other comparable shoe. I had a pair of Wave Rider 11s, a pair of Wave Rider 12s, and then won a pair of 12s at a local 10k. These and the Aasics Cummulus 10s are my favorite shoes ever. I run 55-60 miles a week and rotate these two and love it. I highly recommend these shoes. They are great for speed work up through the 20 milers I've done in them.

Awesome shoes! Just ordered my 2nd pair. I run about 30 miles a week on asphalt, concrete and hills. I am 5'11" and 172lbs. My normal shoe size is a snug 10.5 but I get these in a 11.5 D

These shoes were horrible. I tried them and an earlier model of the Wave Rider. heels have been killing me ever since running in them. Overall the arch feels weird and there isnt nearly enough cushioning. On top of that they are just bulky and ad for running on roads

These shoes wore out quicker than any other running shoe Ive ever worn. I got about 100 miles out of them before the sole became so compressed that they became unusable.

Wed, July 15,2009:
I love this shoe! I have tried Brooks Adrenaline, Trance, and Infiniti as well as different models of Asics and Adidas. Both Asics and Adidas wear down far too quickly and Brooks doesn't seem to fit well and have also begun to wear too quickly. This shoe feels terrific out of the box. Support in the mid-foot is excellent, which is what I need since I tend to land flat on my feet rather than on my heels. I haven't put alot of miles on them yet, but they already feel much better. Fatigue has been greatly reduced due to these shoes. I think Brooks may have lost a customer.

I love these shoes, they are so comfortable. I love going for my long runs in these shoes. I had the last generation shoe awhile back and loved it too. I tried wearing Asics for awhile but came back to these and I haven't regretted it since

Sun, July 05,2009:
I had to start wearing men's Wave Riders b/c Mizuno stopped making the women's in wide sizes. The shoe itself feels good as always and fits well. The main flaw with this shoe for me, however is the new design of the seaming detail inside the shoe from it going across the outside of the upper portion of the toe box. It rubs me terribly, and I have lost 4 toenails so far. Once the nails are gone, it doesn't bother me anymore though...until they grow back again. I hope the next design of this shoe takes care of this minor detail.

I'm 5ft 11 at 180lbs and require a shoe with a lot of cushioning. This is the best fitting shoe I've warn in a long time. You can wear this shoe without socks and they feel great. Unfortunately these shoes don't have enough cushioning for me. I've had Mizuno racing flats with more cushioning. I can actually feel the plastic wave in the heel of this shoe when I run which gives it a harsh feeling for me. These shoes have moved to my workout/weight lifting shoe. I've gone to the Asics Nimbus 11 and cushioning/impact protection is much better.

I went to a Mizuno Run With Us thing and got suggested these. Best thing I did, these fit great, they have enough cushioning and are lighter than my previous (Nimbus 10s) so to me, are easier to run in. Love them.

Thu, July 02,2009:
Very good cushioning. This version seems slightly wider in the forefoot than previous ones. Do not size up more than 1/2 size. Versions 8 and 9 required sizing up a full size, but this is definitely no longer the case.

Thu, July 02,2009:
I love this shoe. At 50 with a bad knee, this is the first shoe I have worn that I have been able to run with comfort in quite a while. Being flat footed, I had been wearing stability shoes, but I am not an over-pronator. The combination of the neutral shoe and cushioning has been a great help to me.

Ok, I'll admit, 2 months now and so far a great shoe. 5'11", 185lbs, neutral runner, about 15-20 miles per week. Excellent cushioning and heal to toe transition. Don't have that clompy feel the Rider v11 seemed to have. I have a wide foot so I went with the 2E and didn't have to size up a 1/2. Mizuno designers, if you're out there, listen up, you've got a hit, don't mess with it!

I'm a new runner and have always picked the wrong shoe for my foot until a rep at roadrunner sports recommended these for me. I almost picked the saucony progrid 2 but I'm so glad I went with the Mizuno's! I run about 15 miles a week and with this shoe I feel like I can finally up my regimen. The rep was right, the metal plate in the shoe makes the heal-toe very secure with smooth transition. For me thats all I needed with a neutral foot. Thanks Roadrunner Sports!

I wasn't convinced about these shoes when I was fitted in a running store, but I am sure glad I tried them. I am 5'7" 155lbs and these Mizunos give plenty of cushion and stability. They also do not have those exaggerated heels that a lot of shoes have. Its a very natural heel hit. Love them!

These shoes are GREAT! I'm 5'11 195lb and I have been having problems with shin splints when I run more then 5 miles. I did my research and because the Wave Rider 12's had such great reviews I thought I would give them a try... and I m so glad that I did! I ran 8 mile with them straight out of the box and they felt great! A perfect balance of support and cushioning, as well as being light weight! I would definitely recommend this shoe. I'm going to buy another pair this week!

Thu, May 07,2009:
I can run past yard with 2 dogs that usually start barking as I appraoched, now with the WR11 s I am past the house before being detected. A shoe that is not flopping and making noise has to be more efficient. One drawback is my shin bone seems to hit the top of this shoe's collar, which is annoying, this is easily remedied with a Dr. Shoal's foam insert. These shoes are the highest quality I have ever owned. Frank

Mon, April 27,2009:
My favorite shoe. I'm 6'0" and 172 lbs., mid to high arches and I run between 18 and 25 miles a week training for 10k and 13.1. The Wave Rider 12 is better than the 11, I have both and rotate between the two. I liked the 11 a lot until the 12 came out. There was no need to cellar away boxes of the 11s. The key for me is a little more wiggle room in the toebox without having to size up. And they are the best-looking Mizu to come that I remember. I'll buy these again, or run barefoot.

Sat, April 25,2009:
This shoe is awesome! I did not like the WR11 so I waited on 10's until the 12 came out and let me say, they really got this one right. Excellent arch support, great transistion from heel to toe, light materials/airy feeling inside. I am 67" 165lbs and run about 12-15 miles a week and these shoe fit my needs without ending in knee/hip pain. They actually make me want to go farther! Much better than Nike.

Sat, April 04,2009:
I have done speed work and long runs alike in these shoes and love them. At first it felt like another woman because I have always used Aasics exclusively, but these are the best shoes I have ever had. They are relatively light, but still feel great on 15 milers. I wish I got these before the Myrtle Beach Marathon and not after. I will most likely buy a couple pairs when they become "endangered shoes."

Agree with a previous post. The WR is back to what it should be and close to what it was. SO glad Mizuno snugged up the upper. The midsole material is different, lighter, more responsive. Now, hopefully Mizuno leaves it alone?

truly amazing shoe!!!...the perfect combination of cushion and stability...i have been a nimbus user until they came up with the horrific lacing system. these shoes are lighter and much more cushioned than the nimbus...also about 30 bucks cheaper...well worth the money!

I'm a newbe to running and mostly do the stationary bike thing, but I'm totally serious about my new lifestyle at the gym. I bought these because they simply looked so cool! They also feel great, very light and conform well. I knew I would buy them before I tried them on. I just love em! I paid 90 bucks; no tax for them; a little more than price here, but I'm not worried about 10 bucks. I totally recommend them.

Great update Mizuno. Agree with previous post. Glad the goofy, rounded donut shape toe has been tapered and is more pointed. Also, I like how the outsole was moved back so there is less of a gap between forefoot and heel. More outsole for a smoother transition. Great look and road feel. Still a little too roomy but great update!

Sun, February 08,2009:
I'm a new runner, so I don't know all the technical speak, but these shoes feel great. I started out on Nike, but the Rider 10 was a huge improvement. I bought the Rider 11 and had some knee and foot problems and sent them back. Hung on to the Rider 10 for another year and got the new 12. These feel a lot like the 10 and I have 50 miles on them with no problems. They do have a larger toe area, but that is actually a plus for me, so I feel it was an improvement.

Been running in Riders since they first came out. Could write a book. Like the earliest ones best. Then mostly failures. The 12 is an improvement--but still missing smooth H-to-T transition. Clops a bit. But it's light and more responsive than many previous Riders. Bring back the Creation 2000!!!

Sun, February 01,2009:
Great update, so GLAD Mizuno got rid of the round donut shaped toe box. Thie new update is tapered and more pointed. Still a tad too wide(cavernous feeling) but, a great heel-toe transition. Great shoe for long runs, especially if you love to throw in fast surges. Not perfect, but it will do since I can't find anymore Wave Rider 9's. This shoe to me is more reminisent of the WR 7s. Good work Mizuno, snug it up a tad though!

6ft, 185lbs, high arch. I've been running on Vomeros for the past four years, the last version was too bouncy so I decided to try Mizunos for the first time (based on all the good reviews). This shoe seems to be perfect for me: The right cushion, light and plenty of toe room. I just PRed my half by almost five minutes. Conciedence? May be, but my legs feel really good today, not blister, nothing! Highly recommend this shoe.

5' 8" and 155lbs. I have happily worn various Asics for the last 15 years. I bought a pair of the new 2140's ran the Turkey Trot and found the tongue broke on my toes giving me blisters. Returned them for the latest Kayano's and thats where my real problems began. They are just too heavy. I'm training for a marathon and the added weight resulted in stressed muscles and joints. Bought these shoes this weekend, ran 20 miles yesterday and all my problems are gone. I'll post a follow-up if things change but so far these are a great shoe. I love the flat feeling and all the cushioning. I might be a Mizuno runner for life. At a minimum I now know I can finish the upcoming marathon.

Excellent! Great fit for my slightly wide foot. Very comfortable. Although it does not feel as soft underfoot, it provides great cushioning...better than the Nimbus 10 or Triumph 6. Lighter than some of it's competitors. I owned the 10 and liked it, but felt it was a bit weak in terms of cushioning. Mizuno definitely got everything right with this shoe, even the styling. Highly recommended coming from someone who has recently tried the: Nike Vomero 3, Nimbus 9, and Triumph 6.

First my info...190 pound midfoot striker..neutral in right foot..slight overpronation on left foot with an orthotic in that shoe...Found that I didnt need orthotic in this model and that didnt need to size up to a full size ..9 is my size and it works in this shoe...The step in feel is great with their new ortholite liner and it makes for a soft, but not too soft, great ride. I agree with those that feel it is their best since rider 9...Fit,transition,etc are all top notch...GREAT NEUTRAL SHOE!!!

I have worn the Asics 2000's series since 1998 and it turns out that I never warranted the need for a stability shoe since I have a neutral foot strike. I was advised to this shoe from a friend as it was my first pair of Mizunos. This shoe is awesome the perfect combination of cushioning added with a little support due to the wave plate. I ran 10 miles in these out of the box and felt great. Highly recommend these shoes.

In one word- WOW! Incredible update to one of the best neutral training shoes out there. Fits like a glove with a transition as smooth as silk. Does feel significantly softer than the previous Riders without being too "squishy" soft like other brands. I have been wearing Riders since version 6 and this is without a doubt the best to date.

I've only run on the treadmill so far but not the best update, I've tried every update since the Wave Rider 7, it seams to me that they make too many changes... this model doesn't feel anything like the older models, the foundation feels too soft (kinda reminds me of a pair of Adidas Supernovas I had) the heel cup should be deeper (my heel slips) and the fore foot seams a lot narrower, almost too narrow, and I have an average width foot. It will be interesting to see what other people think.
